This restaurant is in such a great spot with a view of the harbour and boats / yatch’s / catamarans. But those are the positives. Both our meals (calamari and chips / rice) were not great at all - you’d probably get a better deal and better quality at Spur :))) No jokes. Maybe we just caught the team on a (really) bad day. The vibe was awesome though (Friday evening, there was a live band and they were super talented). The restaurant was packed which always helps. Maybe we’ll try them again, but not anytime soon. More likely Ocean Basket ;D

Did not enjoy having our meal. The tables were sticky even after cleaning them, floors littered, benches uncomfortable, the waiter wasn’t friend and the food was bad. Some of us couldn’t eat their dishes and when the waiter asked if everything was ok, it didn’t matter that we told him the fish was stale and chicken chewy and slimy. He just said we’ve been servicing these for four years and no one has complained before! The food was served all at once, the appetizers with the main food and everything except the soup was served cold.

My first and last time that I will be here. My ribs are not cooked properly. Spinach is sticky and thick Chicken wings extremely salty and not good. All our food that came to our table was completely cold. Our hake family was was completely full of bones. When we approach the floor manager there is mostly excuses and a smirk look. The manager in the end did not want to listen to us, instead, tried at best to avoid our table. Service is completely terrible. We are a huge table that decided to rather finish and get out asap. Not happy. And will not come back again.

The most ideal place to grab a meal, listen to live music and have a beautiful view. The staff are super friendly and pleasant (shout out to Tammy!) The views of the Harbour were amazing The food was not the best but they do have a great variety of options at really good prices. I'll definitely return to enjoy a night out.

Had a team lunch there, started off a 'call me a taxi' cocktail it was amazing went down so well with the days sunny weather refreshing and had the kick it promised reading all the alcohol included from the menu. For lunch I had the Chateaubriand the steak was so soft, melted in my mouth, the chips were so crispy and soft inside, the veggie slaw that the steak rested on was amazing with a sweet sour taste to compliment the whole plate. This meal coupled with the view of the ocean was enjoyable.

If booking, they reserve upper deck. Nicer for conversation as music on lower deck can be difficult to chat through. Lovely view of charter boats. Different menu upper deck. Cajun calamari, sushi and steaks were all good. Chocolate fondant was pleasant. Ebony and ivory desert was disappointing, maybe because the waiter described it as mousse, which it definitely isn't. Presentation was very good though. Prices reasonable.

Hands down the best value for money if you want prawns. They offer 1/2 or the 1kg prawns at an extremely good price. They give you plenty of chips or an alternative side dish. The complimentary sauce for the prawns is nothing to rave about. I’d prefer to just use lemon and prawns are seasoned very well. There is always a queue but it goes by quickly. Music can be very loud inside so sitting outside is preferable. Service is decent. The prawns are mostly fresh but they are mixed with some old ones. Oyster special with bubbly is not worth it as the oysters are way too small. I’ve returned multiple times for the prawns and I’m never disappointed. Highly recommend!

I was on a mission to try fish and chips from as many places in Cape Town as I could. It was an extremely hot and busy day so it took a little while to be seated. Nothing major though. The waitress was amazing! Took my order and was super engaging despite all the tables she had to work. The restaurant itself is perfect for a view of the harbour with friends and family. Unpretentious feel about it with a wide range of food. To be honest I was only interested in the seafood, so that was my focus. Wine menu is decent and the pricing in general is great for a casual dining spot. The fish and chips were a winner. Light batter, fluffy and most fish inside and wonderfully flavoured. The chips were also to my taste and the whole food experience proves that simple is great when done right. Next time I'm at the waterfront I'll head back there to try out more of their food.

The food is nice. Afternoon with family, live music at night. Oyster is lovely. Good price. Onion ring is the best, we have to come back next day and order four more😂

Felt like a light lunch, so I needed a salad mostly. Ordered the full portion of the Greek salad - they were generous with the feta and olives, loved ❤️ the salad. The grilled calamari was amazing, honestly, soft and flavourful with just the right spiciness. I will be back for the platters.

As we enter we were greeted friendly by an employee that made sure we got a good table. There was music playing by a band that gave the place a good atmosphere. The food was reasonable, Sirloin Steak R100 on promotion. It's not the greatest, but at R100 you cannot expect most properly the greatest, but it is value for money as they give a side dish as well. The chef needs to get the balances right between "Well Done" or "Medium". It is definitely a place with a nice view, to relax with an Ice Cold Beer 10/10. I just think that they need to give more attention to the standard of their food, even when it is on promotion.

An extremely busy restaurant. We had to wait in the queue to be seated...was worth the effort....waiters were honest...meals will take about an hour to be prepared and served to us...the reason being that they were very busy...however, within forty five minutes our meals were served....throughly enjoyed the chicken burger...the prawns.. was also delicious ...the atmosphere was electric...live band entertainment...wow...also enjoyed a boat ride at the V and A water front... R250 per person for one hour...

The calamari was the best thing we had here. The fries and onion rings were pretty good but everything else wasn’t great. Not much flavor but the server was very nice and the restaurant had a good view.

A beautiful and affordable restaurant at V&A. They have great views of the harbour and serve exquisite food. The place gets really packed, we tried to call and reserve a table prior but that was not possible so we had to wait a bit for a table. I went with my infant so we struggled a bit with a pram but eventually got a spot. The service wasn’t the greatest, I understand that it was quite full but it did feel like our waitress often forgot about us with requests like straws or glasses etc where I eventually walked to the bar to get these items myself. The food was amazing, this was my 3rd visit and we still got decent sized portions, tasty and they run a number of specials so it wasn’t too heavy for the pocket. I think it’s great for adults or older children but not so much for if you have kids under 10years, my boys were “shoooo’d away” when they tried to get a closer look at the boats on the deck. The adults however had a lovely time.

Great food, but given it four stars ⭐️ for now because the starter seafood chowder wasn’t great. I think they could improve the recipe. (willing to rate five stars in the future) The hake with salad, steak and chips was lovely. Oysters are fresh 👌 The portion size on the chicken was massive for one person, I assume you could feed two people.

Was there on a public holiday. Was really jam packed. Amazing flavourful food. Really enjoy the food. Great waiter too. We just had to wait a bit to be spotted where we wanted to sit because it was overflowing and the place trying to maintain social distance

Lovely venue. Value for money. We ordered family platters as we were a big table. The food was lovely. Prawns are slightly overcooked but still good. My biggest complaint is that the food was almost cold when it reached the table. It would have been much better if still hot. Still a good value for money meal with a beautiful view

Had a wonderful experience there. The food was absolutely lovely. Please ask waitress about vegan/ vegetarian options, there a few available, I had missed until a friend pointed out the vegan burger options. Honestly the BEST vegan burger I've had and I've had my share across the major franchises! Still thinking about the lovely meal I had three days later and planning my return! Lovely waitress who was on the ball with our orders, excellent service. Food prices compare very well with places like Spur and Ocean Basket, and you get more food here than what you would get at those two places so it's great value for money. Will definitely be back!!!

They have good food here, but what is more important is the awesome location. It really feels like you are on holiday when you sit down to eat here. Their prices are not exorbitant, so you can enjoy yourself without watching your wallet too closely.

Lovely dining experience with awesome live band. The food was amazing and the restaurant applies strict social distancing between tables - really liked that. The seafood is really fresh and I have no hesitation in recommending this place for a fine seafood dining experience. My only criticism is that their dessert isn't the best. In particular, the ice cream that comes with the cheesecake. Their staff is amazing though - especially Tamara who served us. She is lovely.

  • 5/5 Willem Van R. 5 months ago on Google
The food was absolutely delicious! I also really enjoyed the fact that you could have a veggie patty for any of the burgers, helps cater to everyone. The vibe was to be expected for a restaurant located right at the dock. The only drawback was the dirty mug though that was sorted out quickly.

Great meal. The sea food platter was lovely and one of our group had a HUGE t-bone steak which he said was wonderful. But... not exactly the friendliest staff and the "live" band was average and far too loud for a restaurant atmosphere. Still... we had fun guessing which cheesy 80's hit would get the midi file karaoke treatment next.

Had a lovely lunch. The food was good and came out pretty quickly, especially the restaurant was pretty busy. Our waitress seemed like she had a bit of an off day jut she eventually lightened up and came to the party 🎉. The other waiters were all extremely friendly and helpful, so I won't take away from the overall service as this made up for the lack thereof at the beginning 😁👏. However, albeit busy, we didn't wait long for our food and it was pretty good. I wasn't a big fan of their flavour profiles and preparation but it's definitely value for money and well worth it for portion sizes. The cheesecake was most probably my favourite - really enjoyed this. It's definitely a pub like seafood restaurant with live entertainment and the add-ons of a pub. Great ambiance, goo food and well, service. Go and try it and you let me know 🤗

Food was delicious and freshly prepared, definitely value for money. Great atmosphere with a live band. Does get a bit chilly towards the evening as is expected with being on the waterfront but the views are most certainly worth it.

The food at Quay Four was amazing, I had the Grilled Kinglip. The Kingclip with veg and chips was an excellent combination. The views of the Waterfront Harbour were quite good as you could see the boats coming and going while having your meal. Service at Quay Four is awesome, waiters and waitresses often check up on you and make sure you don’t need anything and are always a quick call away. Definitely worth checking out 😬

Hour long wait but didn't mind that too much as good things come to those who wait. Location is amazing. Unfortunately food was not like I experienced it the numerous times before. We all had seafood which was nice but mussel sauce and lemon butter was packet sauces which ruined the food

The food was good but the service needs work and the manager needs a course on customer service. It took 30min before he even assisted me. This WAS my favourite Reataurant

  • 5/5 Glenn G. 3 years ago on Google
My first stop whenever I arrive in Cape Town. Always the best entertainment and food available. Interestingly enough I learnt that they could go through something like 15 000 liters of beer a day, that's insanely astonishing.
