Fantastic hotel - I’ve travelled to over 30 countries and this is by far the best hotel with incredible hospitality. There was initially some challenges regarding booking miscommunication but the overall manager Reinard approached this professionally and supported us as much as possible. He made us feel at home and his team was fantastic making the stay an incredible holiday. Alongside the duty manager, Jeremy and exceptional breakfast provided by Felicia and Elton. I highly recommend to stay here at Taj Cape Town, the staff are excellent with the rooms being fantastic and well cleaned and kept.

As the name says it all it's Taj so the service has to be the best , for Indian vegetarian they have a lot of options for breakfast which I didn't find anywhere in south africa , the location is in the centre. The rooms are spacious.

Excellent location. Polite and helpful staff. Beautiful mountain views if you get a room in the modern part of the building. Fantastic value for the quality. Strongly recommend it.

There are lots of things to like about this hotel, but I have just been woken at 10:50pm by the reception desk calling (twice in quick succession as I’d ignored the first call) to take payment for my room. Aside from the fact I’ve already paid, what kind of hotel calls its guests at 10:50pm?! Utterly disgusted! I now can’t sleep, and hope they will be refunding me for the wasted night! I will not be staying here again!

Great hotel reflecting the values of Taj chain from India. Heritage rooms are charming with an old world feel. Fully renovated. Large and spacious. Mint coffee shop is fully renovated. Very nice ambience. Bombay Brasserie has great North Indian food. Very attentive staff. Hotel is very well located right next to Parliament, Slavs Lodge and Adderley Street markets.

The Taj is a beautiful, clean and well kept hotel in the city center. The hotel hosts a good breakfast including an Indian breakfast (staying true to the hotel groups roots). Service however is poor and slow even though staff are friendly. Room 1106 has a beautiful view of the mountain and city. Mountain facing rooms are a must!

Top class service, attention to detail, pure air in rooms and at facilities. Delicious food and variety. Room 605 in particular: private suite owner professionally kept in touch and sought feedback re shortcomings, of which there were none. Added value, sent a generous piece of birthday cake for a birthday on day of arrival. Very likely to book in future. Hotel facilities such a sauna and pool hygienic and helpful with pure drinking water and clean towels. Blessings to staff and management.

From the moment we walked into the hotel, the service was great. Room was upgraded and it was fabulous to wake up to the Mountain View every morning! Huge variety for breakfast and the bar served up some of the best cocktails I’ve tasted. Thank you for an awesome Easter weekend!

This is one of the best hotel experiences we've ever had. We will most definitely be back. The rooms are beautiful, the service is outstanding and the restaurants and amenities are everything you could need. It is so easy to just relax at the hotel for your whole stay. If you do want to go out though, it is situated in the middle of town and surrounded by everything you could need.

The rooms are great and spacious. Both in style and by its location, this is more of a business hotel. But still conveniently located for leisure/tourism visitors. The bar is pleasant. They have a good spa that is reasonably priced but remember to book in advance. Only minus is the quality if the breakfast buffet and the somewhat chaotic service that comes with it. They should improve on the buffet quality and perhaps train the junior staff that doesn't always know what to do.

Truly exceptional. The quality of the hotel is amazing in every meaning of the word. The staff did all to make me and other guests comfortable. No question was too weird. Also the location of the hotel is great. Right downtown in the city center. But you might think this is a standard review of someone just liking his brief stay. Its more than that. The last day in Cape Town I got robbed on the street by someone who threatened to harm me. At the hotel they did everything in their power to help me. To get the police involved. To think along what to do next. In such times you get to know the true value of people, and South Africans are the kindest people I have met in my life. And I have been in a lot of countries. The staff at the Taj Hotel confirmed my experiences so far in South Africa. In other words, the Taj Hotel does everything to make you feel safe, to help you out also when things don't go you way. Again, thank you so much, and I will be back next time!

Location is great but always busy and police sirens around. Staff is nice but could be improved. Car valet is available with a fee. Room is huge and well decorated with a great furniture not old. As well as the big bathroom. I’d definitely recommend this place for you stay at Cape Town. I didn’t try the food so I can’t say anything.

Great and luxurious hotel with a great location, fantastic service and lovely breakfast. A big thank you to the receptionist who understood that it was our anniversary and made it a little extra special for us, and to the concierge who managed to get a table at the city's, and perhaps Africa's best restaurant FYN on a short notice. We will definitely be back!

Me and my wife stayed here for 3 nights during our honeymoon. The hotel is luxurious, elegant and dead center in the middle of Cape Town. The staff make you feel right at home. They excelled in the details, like leaving a bottle of wine and a personalized welcome note in our room. The concierge recommended the most amazing restaurant for us when we weren't sure where to eat, and helped us book some of our activities. We don't usually stay at luxurious places like this but I am so happy we did this time. Besides, the price we got from them directly was not that bad after some negotiation via email, where they matched prices given by third party booking sites.

I spent about three days here, and my family and I had a great time. Immediately the staff was helpful got our bags and were genuinely nice. The prices are too cheap for the quality of service they provide. The food was extremely good, especially the continental breakfast. There is a gym and a pool, that is rarely ever crowded. Also if possible, please enjoy the spa while you are there great staff, even better care. I wish I could personally thank each of the staff one more time. Thank you for a great end to a great vacation.

We booked the Taj Cape Town through a large UK based travel agent. We booked and paid for a Table Mountain view our confirmation said Table Mountain view – NOT Mountain view. We booked 5.5 months in advance and booked for 5 nights, after visiting 3 substandard rooms, without the view of Company Gardens and Table Mountain, the Taj Duty Manager to magic up a room we had requested AND paid for. The view was lovely! Room 1206 – and 100% worth our perseverance. The room itself was dated, old red and spirally carpet, and battered room furniture and the bathroom flooded with over 1 cm of water filling the bathroom floor (the hairdryer is attached the bathroom wall!)

Apart from well appointed rooms with great view, good breakfast, fantastic restaurant (Bombay Brasserie) great service and fantastic location of the hotel, I would like to mention the great concierge service of the hotel. Jade, Drek and one another (my sincere apologies to him on forgetting his name) helped us so much to make this trip memorable, warmly, promptly, cost effectively and ensured smooth experience everywhere. We are really thankful to them.

We had a wonderful stay in the executive suite of the Taj Cape Town. The room was beautifully designed, offering great value. Our suite featured a spacious kitchen equipped with essential appliances like a washer, dryer, dishwasher, stove, and a large refrigerator. The living space had a cozy couch by the TV, and the bathroom was sizable, complete with dual sinks and both a tub and a separate shower. Cleanliness and quality were top-notch throughout. The service we received was exceptional. From complimentary valet service at our arrival, swift luggage handling, to being greeted with refreshing towels and a drink upon check-in – it all added to our experience. A staff member even gave us a tour and escorted us to our room. We also enjoyed the hotel's pool and spa facilities.

My sister and I went to the spa at The Taj and tried the Sushupti treatment. For two hours it was absolutely incredible! The ladies were so friendly and professional. The small touches of colouring in, a detox tea, candles, rose petals just add to the experience. I would highly recommend this treatment

Good: Really nice breakfast! Selection is great and restaurant staff are excellent. Very comfy beds. Slightly firmer which I prefer. Not so good: Check in time is at 3pm (which is already later than most hotels) but when we arrived our room was not ready. When we were eventually checked in we found clothes in the wardrobe which were not ours. The hotel is in the inner city. The surroundings are very noisy. Cars can be heard from the room from very early in the morning.

It was my wedding anniversary, and Rita at the reception made sure to fill our request of booking into the highest room. When we walked into the room we were greeted with such a romantic atmosphere - rose petals and candles! We had a late lunch where Felicia was warm and friendly, gave us some ideas on what to try. We were also treated to complimentary treats for our anniversary. Even the Chef came out to ask how the food was, truly outstanding service. Breakfast buffet was all you can eat, where Tina was very friendly and helpful. Overall had a fabulous time and definitely worth every last cent. Great service and great staff. Thank you TAJ.

I had a great experience here. They have beautiful, spacious rooms with big bathrooms. The staff is friendly and quite helpful. I didn't get to use it but they have a heated indoor pool. The breakfast was quite delicious. Only downside is the view. But the location is perfect.

Visited Cape Town and had the opportunity to stay at this fantastic venue just before New Year 2022. Special thanks to the Manager Papy for the personal touch, attention and care!!! He overlooks NOTHING and was such a JOY to work with!!! The staffers were all equally professional and key parts of our amazing experience. Jeremy, thanks for the restaurant recommendations!! The rooms were impeccably cleaned; the foods in the restaurants were delectable and simply YUMMY!! Thanks for making our visit a memorable one!!! 5-STAR in my book!!! We'll definitely be back!

Overall the stay was very nice. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I did have a few concerns about the cleanliness of the room for a 5-star hotel. The mattress pad was urine and blood stained. I also had flies in my room upon on arrival but it was quickly resolved.

Everything was great except few things in the spa. There were no towels anywhere, jacuzzi was cold, nail polishes were thinned out and old….. these little things do matter and I hope you take steps to fix them. Other than that, everything was immaculate, the room, linen, staff and food…. The Indian restaurant there was outstanding as well as service.

A real 5 star hotel and service. I love my stay. The rooms were beautiful and well looked after. Gym was never packed. The heated indoor pool was great. 5 star experience it is. Breakfast was the best.

Absolutely magnificent! Beautiful hotel, amazing food! I was welcomed so beautifully and accommodated on a very professional friendly high level way and all the staff on each department was exceptionally friendly and helpful! I can most definitely say, this was my best hotel experience and I will most definitely book there again! Thank you Taj 🙏

Location is OK. Central but loud. Doesn't matter which floor you are in, you will hear street noise. Same if you are in the spa room. However the inside of the hotel was overall quiet. Room was spacious and great bathroom. Overall most of the staff I encountered were pleasant. Breakfast buffet was plentiful but the quality was ok. Ask to have the food made fresh it taste better than the food in the big trays. Some staff was attentive while others weren't. No tip is required for the breakfast buffet. Room service food was overall good. The only part I think that needs improvement is the ladies bringing the food; should be a bit friendlier. Pool is very small and dirty. Also filled with kids so you won't be doing much swimming and relaxing. Gym was a good size. The spa was horrendous. I booked 3 treatments and was laughing internally most of the time because I felt like I was having a child giving me a massage. If you have done spa treatments especially in the states you will not be impressed with their spa. Also the lounge area is next to the front desk and the staff was so loud. It's not a quite relaxing spa experience. Check out process was very weird. It took more than 1 hour for them to come to pick up my luggage. Once we go outside I see three porter guys by the front door. Not sure what was the hold up, but every time I called the front desk they would just say soon. Thank God I was going early to the airport and had spare time. Also those porter guys by the door never open the door. What's the point of having so many bell hoppers (usually is 3-5 men) just hanging around. They should be opening the door for each and every single person.

Horrible - 5 star? More like worth 5cents. firstly the rooms are so old - it feels like you’re retired and in an old age home from back in the day. They can’t make a decent coffee and use a machine that belongs in a travel lodge for coffee. We then returned to the room twice in a row to the room not cleaned yet. On the second occasion they claimed that we left the room on do not disturb - basically accusing us of doing something we didn’t. They had a Cricket team staying at the hotel which took up a lot of the pick up zone - when I arrived to pick something up quickly. I was asked to move about 5 times (move forward, move back, move forward etc) because the cricket team is staying there. Annnnd so am I? Honestly this place is a disaster.

Staff are very professional, helpful, and friendly. Food is excellent. Rooms are spacious, with comfortable beds, coffee/tea, bottled water, and bath amenities. Location is convient for walking to a number of attractions. Driving to the 'downtown' area is straightforward and not far. Highly recommend

The Hotel Manager Papy made my wife and I feel at home and he assisted us very well. He told us about 10% of the rich history behind the Taj Hotel which was very helpful and informative. Papy also went further to take us on a mini tour around the Hotel. Our wish is to one day visit the Bombay Brasserie and also view the Penthouse Suite. With regards to service we were not offered anything to drink complimentary within the lobby area after a long long wait to be taken on a tour. Welcome drinks would have been appropriate given the history and status of the Taj. We hope to return one day and be treated better.

I've just come back from 10 days stay. What a wonderful experience it was. All the staff are extremely lovely and very attentive. The customer service is one of the best I've experienced. The breakfast was amazing and I fully enjoyed it. The range dishes to the what was on the menu was more than enough to satisfy anyone. Primrose always had a smile on her face when she got my order. A mention to Enrico for helping me plan aspects of my trip and being super helpful. The guys at the valet service were fantastic and always super helpful. They were always quick bringing my car around and super friendly.

Outstanding hotel if you are looking for top notch customer service and great rooms. The location is ideal in downtown and many of the hotel rooms have a wonderful view of Table Mountain. Highly recommend eating at the Mint restaurant versus going out on the town if you are not wanting to travel from the hotel. The service and the food were both excellent. Customer service was above and beyond and I will definitely stay here again next time I'm in town!

This hotel surely deserves 5 stars. From arriving here to leaving, staff pampers and looks after you. Booking in was flawless and room was perfect. In-hotel dining at the Mint restaurant is fantastic. Well worth the visit. Most enjoyable and will return.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. The location is central and convenient. The staff js very friendly and accommodated all our wishes. The Hotel is modern and well-maintained. The breakfast is amazing - lots of variety and very high quality of food. The price is high, but well worth it.
