It
is
actually
a
premium
spot.
Premium
location,
interior
design,
food
exp,
vibes.
But,
there’s
always
a
“but”,
nothing
comes
entirely
clean
/
for
granted
in
life.
Therefore,
with
regard
to
their
wines
there’s
a
lot
of
potential
ie.
some
labels
/
cultivars
do
not
deliver
the
brand
promise
and
deserve
a
deeper
vision
and
approach.
Let’s
focus
on
their
MCCs
-
sparkling
wines
-
which
turn
overrated
(overpriced
too)
with
exception
of
their
Chardonnay
Cap
Classique
lively
on
the
palate,
displaying
finesse
and
complexity
with
a
crisp
acidity
which
pairs
well
with
a
wide
variety
of
food.
It
has
a
long,
yet
refreshing
finish.
Still,
bottle
of
R220
(12-13
euros)
in
many
countries
enough
for
granting
an
amazing
bubbly
such
as
the
Ferrari
Brut
to
name
one
which
would
be
interesting
to
compare
Steenberg
with
in
a
wine
tasting.
Other
than
that,
over
all
Steenberg
bubbly
do
not
deliver
what
promise
even
when
leveling
up
until
the
R500
p/bottle
for
the
Lady
R
Cap
Classique,
70%
Pinot
Noir
&
30%
Chardonnay.
Their
winemaking
appear
to
be
immature,
a
work
in
progress
sometimes
catchy
as
for
the
entry-level
sparkling
Sauvignon
Blanc
which
comes
for
R149
(8,50€
)
and
works
better
than
their
Rose
Pinot
Noir
CC
(R220)
standing
for
incompleteness
and
flatness.
With
regard
to
their
reds
and
whites
will
follow
up
in
a
second
review
/
forthcoming
tasting
as
the
day
this
review
refers
was
more
a
bubbly
day.
Ultimately,
enjoyed
the
nice,
really
nice,
location
and
food
experience
at
dinner
although
not
really
happy
with
the
food
pairings
at
the
tasting.
Having
spent
almost
the
full
day
from
early
afternoon
up
until
late
evening
moving
from
the
tasting
room
to
the
well-renowned
bistrot,
were
really
surprised
to
notice
that
tasting
comes
with
no
food
pairing
but
some
crisp
bread.
Tricky.
