De Waal Park should be renamed Dog Park. 😁 Wonderful space to walk dogs off lead. Most dogs visiting de Waal Park are socialized and well behaved. The fountain is used as a space for dog's to swim and cool off. The park is popular on weekends for picnics, and there's several spots under trees with large tables and benches to accommodate those who don't wish to sit on picnic blankets. Monday to Sunday you can grab a coffee from the coffee vendor in the park and sit and enjoy the sounds of the water flowing in the fountain, work, or watch the squirrels! There's also a play area for children with some swings, slides etc.

Best doggy park in town. Happy bouncing dogs, off lead, running, digging, playing. The fountain is also very popular for those 4 legged kids who swim. Beware where you walk, not everyone picks up after their furkids. Lots of benches and tables for humans too relax on, otherwise bring your picnic blanket but dont be surprised if your party gets paw-crashed.

Nice place to relax and enjoy the nature, right within the city bowl. Lots of trees and long stretches of grass. I feel safe and secure visiting this park. Lovely place to take your dogs to enjoy as well.

Best place ever to take our fur babies to 🙌 There are not many places where you can sit under the shady trees and your dogs can run free. Also a great venue to simply enjoy this beautiful park even if you don't have pets.

Always such a lovely experience! Friendly dogs running free Friendly people with children Nobody complains if you have a smoke because the park is so spacious Water fountain for dogs to jump in and play Plenty of benches and perfect birthday party kids location as there are picnic tables under beautiful wooden gazebos. No booking necessary. Clean and tidy and the kids are never bored or too hot. Trees everywhere for shade and view. We love it here!

I went here for a friend and it was the 1st time being here. Google map directions was a bit tricky for all to find it but we did eventually. It is a beautiful location for dogs, and people alike. Only issue which we encountered was dogs running up to our picnic table and we are not supposed to be touched by them as we are Muslim. Owners should have leaches on them or if they are trained, should call them away from us or anyone who doesn't have the affinity to dogs. There is a stage, concerts held here before CV, that can be used for events which is nice. All in all, good venue and will come with loved ones again

Best spot in the city bowl to take your four legged and two legged children to burn off some energy. Also great for picnics under the massive trees. Public toilets are currently being renovated so not available

Five stars don't do this park justice. It is serene. It is beautiful. The dogs are all socialising and chilling around their owners. The grass was lush and green and soft. The park is well maintained and a pleasure to be in. The whole family had a great day out and we enjoyed just spending amazing time with amazing friends in a world class venue. Take the time too go experience a hidden gem in Cape Town of you've never been there. You will not regret taking the time out to just take time out. Awesome.

If you stay in capetown, and want to spend a quite evening with very less noise and people around you, this is the spot. Come with a group of people, or your dogs, or just a lovely book, it will all make sense. Some time with yourself with just natural noise around you. Very decent garden it is. One of my favorite spots in town.

De Waal Park is a public park and heritage site in the Oranjezicht suburb of Cape Town. The park, which contains over 120 species of trees, is popular with dog walkers. The park is roughly rectangular. Molteno Dam borders the park to the south, with the other three sides bordered by roads.

Excellent place to take your dog for a walk/fun time. Or even just for you to enjoy a good cup of coffee and a nice walk through the trees. Animal photographers dream as the pups chase squirrels and just play in general

The famous dog park, amazing place to walk your dog or just chill and watch dogs. It's a very beautiful park for picnics and mini parties too.

Though the park is closed currently due to Covid, you should definitely visit come January. It is very spacious, dog friendly, and great for picnics on the grass. There are playground facilities for children and bathrooms available as well.

Beautiful spacious park for dogs and kids and adults to enjoy. Well maintained and doggie fountain to cool your pups. The playground keeps kids entertained. Many well placed benches to give you respite from sun. And no one can fault the stunning backdrop of Table Mountain.

As always a very nice outing with the dog 🐕. She absolutely loves running around! The fountain ⛲ was full this time around and Gina enjoyed a brief swim to cool down while drinking water 💧 at the same time and even though the park was a little quiet she still met some friends. It's thoroughly closed off and the dogs 🐕 are completely safe to run around off leash.

Safe and beautiful park. There is space for everyone, kids, dogs, picnics, outdoor workouts, meetings and so on. They even have a coffee shop Monday to Sunday. Love this place and it’s my dogs second home.

Perfect doggy park. Enough space and socialised dogs for any pooch to enjoy their time there. The community sponsors pooh bags and bins are cleaned out regularly.oat walkers also wear a mask. Table Mountain Park security also patrol to keep drug sellers away.

Always a treat to go for a quick walk through de Waal park and be invigorated by the hub of activity, from the dogs to many young families. It’s a space that is used so well in Cape Town. The rotunda houses a small coffee shop. Almond croissants are fantastic, they have a marzipan filling.

Our family throughly enjoyed our walk through De Waal Park, pleases be warned it's more of a Doggy Park where dogs run around free, fortunately they are well mannered and tamed, friendly enjoys being patted and rubbed, lovely seating areas scattered around for picnics, saw a Birthday party and Baby Shower picnics being held, such a cool place to have an function, friends and family to meet up for a Sunday Lunch picnic, during the week where the coffee stand is situated at the Round Band Stand they have occasionally live music on a Sunday afternoon, all in all, we had a lovely afternoon at De Waal Park

Great 'doggie' park, where loads of people come to let the dogs play and socialize, come for walks around the park, play area for kids, do yoga or read a book under the trees. Great little fountain for pups to drink water or splash around, also some summer concerts by local artists to enjoy most weekends or holidays.

Great park in the upper city bowl. Good security, toilets, playground for kids etc. If you are not a dog lover, then rather go to another park.

Beautiful Christmas Day picnic with 2 friends. Table under the trees....dappled sunlight, gentle breeze. All in all, a peaceful day. I would add, despite the fact that poo-bins are provided, there are thoughtless dog-owners who fail to remove their dog's eliminations from the grass. I wonder?.....would they leave it on their floor at home, were the dog to have an 'accident'?
