This Gallery is overflowing with art. It does not just show the work of one artist at a time but keeps a ton of work by a whole lot of artists. There is a fair amount of sculpture on sale as well as some ceramics and glass. Outstanding work by Judy Woodborne and Tania Babb is on display. It's a great space, a little overwhelming but they clearly are doing something right as they have been on the map for many years.

This quaint landmark gallery is perfectly positioned in the Cape Town CBD on a cobblestone walkway between the buildings. A wide variety of genres and the owner Gail is arguably the most knowledgeable art dealer in South Africa.

I don’t have anything to say about this place, however you really need to be careful around this place because there are a lot of homeless and fraud activities, one of the homeless stoped me and begged me to buy food for him from a grocery next to this place “the grocery is not showing in google map”. The homeless man and the seller in that grocery had a deal to sell overpriced items then return it to the store from each victim and so on.

Wonderful and friendly gallery with a variety of Art styles

This is my favourite gallery in Cape Town - I love its extensive stock, all artists of quality, with modest prices, mostly contemporary work. I first visited on First Thursday but came back several times for a better look, buying a small piece of sculpture. Returning with my son who selected a silkscreen and another sculpture. The owners are on hand to chat and advise, so knowledgeable and friendly. What a lovely place.

The Cape Gallery hosted my exhibition RECITE in a progressional capacity to the Cape Town art public. This lead to sales ad contacts that allowed me to take my art making process further. Thank you Gail, Alison and Tatum it was a pleasure working with you.

Loved this place. Host was just attentive enough to make the experience pleasurable. She knew fascinating little facts about the varying artists that explained why the art was the way it was.

The best art gallery in Cape Town by far

Wow and WOW!!! They have a great collection of portraits as well as landscapes although they concentrate on portraits mainly. I loved the fact that they showcased so many South African artists. They have something for every eye even if you just want to walk through and enjoy the art. A must see if you are in Church Street Cape Town.
