The rooms are super small and WHAT? NO USB ports? A good thing I carry my own plug into the wall outlet charger 😳 But...everything I needed was present Some rooms have views of table Mountain. The staff is friendly. I had dinner and the food was seriously delicious . Hotel sits on a very quiet street.

Oh wow! If you don't fall in love with this place, you have a lump of coal where your heart should be. It's simply magnificent. I have heard a rumour that the staff pay to be allowed to work there, and they work extra hard to make you enjoy your stay. Their charm, friendliness and enthusiasm make you happy too.

We visited Cape Town for a business trip with a larger group. Everybody enjoyed the stay in the hotel. The rooms are simple with everything you need and clean. The hotel bar was a great place to finish the day, not to mention Bassar the Eggspert creating not only tasteful but very entertaining breakfast as well. Thank you to the whole very nice and gentle team for a good week!

I spent 4 nights at Ice & Fire on business, nice location, waterfront was in walking distance. Rooms were clean, and spacious, had to request an iron and ironing board. Bar is super friendly, a special mention for George and Owen on their customer service, would recommend the ice cream cocktails. Only issue I had was that at check out my company credit cards pre authorisation amount was taken, then the additional amount, instead of 1 transaction. This resulted in the card being blocked as flagged for fraud, luckily I had my personal card.

Stopping here for a quick milkshake almost feels necessary when in Cape Town. The bar is very nice and decor is stunning. Fantastic spot to watch live sport on the TV’s and feels quiet enough that meetings and conversations are still possible without feeling too formal. Definitely recommend the visit if you are in the area.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Protea Fire & Ice Hotel, and I must say, it was an absolutely fantastic experience! From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to provide exceptional service. They were always polite, friendly, and extremely helpful, making me feel welcomed and valued throughout my stay. One of the highlights of the hotel was definitely its impressive amenities. The rooms were beautifully designed and well-maintained, offering a comfortable and luxurious environment to unwind after a long day of exploring Cape Town. The best part was waking up to stunning views of Table Mountain, a sight that truly took my breath away. The location of the hotel couldn't have been better. Situated in a vibrant area, there were numerous great restaurants and cafes within walking distance. It was convenient to have such a variety of dining options nearby, allowing me to indulge in delicious meals without having to venture too far. While my overall experience was outstanding, I did encounter a minor issue regarding the food options. As a vegetarian who prefers Indian cuisine, I found that the hotel lacked suitable choices for my dietary preferences. The kitchen staff seemed unaware of the requirements and had difficulty accommodating my requests. I believe that the management should take this feedback into consideration and consider including Indian vegetarian options on their menu, as there are many guests from the Indian community who may have similar dietary needs. Despite this small setback, I would wholeheartedly recommend the Protea Fire & Ice Hotel to anyone planning a visit to Cape Town. It truly exceeded my expectations and provided me with the perfect base for exploring the city. I am grateful for the wonderful experience I had during my stay, and I believe that this hotel deserves recognition as the best stay in Cape Town for 2023.

My recent stay at Protea Fire & Ice Hotel was absolutely fantastic! The staff at the hotel provided exceptional service and were always polite and very helpful. I was impressed by the hotel's amenities and the quality of the rooms. The location of the hotel was perfect, with many great restaurants and cafes nearby. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Cape Town. It was the perfect place for my first trip to the city, and I'm grateful for the wonderful experience I had there. This place should win best stay in Cape Town for 2023. They definitely got my vote!

I had a two-night stay here and my experience was very good and exceeded my expectations. I can recommend this hotel to any traveler to Cape Town. The rooms are well appointed and have all the necessary amenities that you would require. A few minor issues I had were no towel hooks or rails in the bathroom area which is a bit odd. Also the rooms are relatively small but still have space for a small suitcase and hanging a few clothes. The food was excellent and staff went out of their way to attend to guests in a friendly manner.

I stayed here 2x for one night each in November and December. Second time they remembered my room from last time and gave me the Duplex again. Very nice touch from front desk staff to take the time, and very much appreciated. Marriott Platinum status does come in handy some times πŸ˜‰. The duplex room I had was very large and one of the best hotel rooms I've stayed in. It was basically the size of an apartment. Everything was clean and well taken care of. My unit had a very loud AC unit, so I ended up turning it off. Luckily I didn't need it as it wasn't hot outside, but I can see it being a problem considering it is right above the bed. The hotel has a great welcome gift of milkshakes (including adult boozy milkshakes). It was a very unique welcome gift that I would totally skip the 1,000 points for again. The pool here is a decent size and has a view of Lions Head. The service in the pool area left something to be desired though as during both stays I had to go down to front desk in order to request towels.... And that leads me into the service, not much to speak about here. Maybe it was because both of my stays were only 1 night, but I didn't really get much interaction from the staff other than the front desk. But in general my impression of the staff was good, but nothing to write home about. Everyone was nice though! The location is quite central, and Ubers are readily available. You can be anywhere in the city within 10-20 minutes Uber ride.

We loved our stay at this hotel. The staff is warm and helpful, the food was good, we loved the Saturday evening in the lounge, cocktail hour and a DJ creating a great vibe. The only down side are the small rooms - even though we were told that we were upgraded, but the rooms were well clean.

Still nice, but lost a bit of that funkiness and the rooms and corridors are showing their age. Cushions on the terrace were quite dithered and stained. The restaurant area is still cool though and the food great. Debbie is still great though, but the place (in parts) needs a makeover.

Great location. We were close to the city center. My main gripe is with the room. It's just small. It was my wife and I and we were on a long southern African trip so had lots of bags and just not enough space. Also there were only two extra outlets and we have phones, tablets, smart watches and portable chargers to charge. The shower was unusually hot. And just not a lot of counter space. We have a balcony which we never used as we were out all days so would prefer to swap the balcony for more interior room. The staff are very cordial and nice. The buffet breakfast was great. So it's just the room, it wouldn't work for us but someone else may not mind

Comfortable, modern hotel with everything you need. Rooms are spacious, but need a little TLC from a maintenance point of view. The hotel is well located if you want to hang around Loop- or Kloof street, but for everything else you’re a little out of the way.

An awesome experience at this hotel. The decor is vibey and modern and creates quite a happy atmosphere. The staff were super friendly and accommodating, always willing to help. The only thing I could say something negative about is that the shower head isn't the greatest for a nice well covered shower. Other than that the breakfast buffet was very nice, with all you can imagine you'd want to eat at a breakfast buffet.

Went for lunch and the service was exceptional. The food was amazing and the music made the vibe even better. Had an amazing time and a lovely experience. Will be going back soon. Their cocktails and milkshakes are a must try.

I truly enjoyed my stay. The room was small but perfect for me as I was traveling alone. The service was excellent. The staff were friendly and efficient. It was an easy route to drive from the airport to this hotel. I would definitely stay here again.

We were scheduled to stay at another Protea property in Sea Point. They overbooked so we ended up at Fire & Ice instead. The property itself is quite nice with excellent views of Table Mountain. The staff were exceptional and the food in the restaurant was delicious. The downside is the property is located on a side alley with a film studio next door. Not many restaurants within walking distance. Didn't find any evidence of a grocery store nearby. Didn't feel comfortable venturing out after dark.

Friendly and attentive service from reception to room service to housekeeping to the restaurant. Clean and tidy room, but a bit too loud with wind howling down the mountain at night. Fun and funky decor.

My partner and I had an amazing stay. The hotel provides clean rooms, good service all round and has very friendly staff! A special thanks to the front man Chris, to Robyn at the dining section, and Mr Chef who does the cooked breakfast, what a guy and you make the best eggs!! Thank you for making us feel at home!

good hotel, but serious issue with the payment! shortly they wrongly charged me one night extra, then they are still not issuing the right invoice and reverting me the extra taken money! no way to communicate by mail and when they pick the phone they committ on something they don't do. Overall very bad experience

Great hotel. Breakfasts are amazing. Staff is very friendly and kind. Location is convenient. Crazy view of table mountain. Clean swimming pool. Only gripe is that the bathrooms aren't very soundproof.

We recently held a big event at The Fire and Ice Hotel. It is a very beautiful hotel with some beautiful finishings that really helped with giving our function that extra special look. Things I always notice automatically without meaning are cleanliness and the way the venue, hotel, or facilities are maintained . Everything was around us , pleasantly in such good condition. Carpets were clean, and the big screen we needed for presentations was in perfect working order. The staff were on their toes and looked after the tables in the most committed way. It really made the evening pleasant.

I only slept over for one night. Service was very good and personnel was very friendly. Had an awesome buffet dinner on Wednesday evening at a very good price, which is highly recommended.

Overall lovely stay, friendly staff no hassle book in, room service, only the bar service was a not so great, we waited to be served but were ignored so we chose to leave for drinks somewhere else.

Excellent service from all staff, from reception to the chef. Thank you to the staff for making sure my child got her meals in her room while I was busy in a conference. Highly recommended πŸ‘Œ

We just had milkshakes - amazing! A really great selection of unusual mixes such as Bee's Knees made of dark chocolate, orange and hazel nuts. Absolutely delicious and reasonably priced

Highly recommend the hotel. The staff is extraordinarily friendly and helpful, were happy to assist with special requests. The location is good as well, central and in a quiet side street. The food in the restaurant was good as well. Will definitely come back when I visit Cape Town again.

Had supper and comedy show. Food is good. Friendly staff. Relaxed vibe. However as friendly as our waiter was, service was slow, cocktails came before the coffee that our friend ordered, waiter could barely understand what we asked for and we couldn't understand him too well, but in fairness the order did arrive correctly. Had the spicy tiger salad. The smoked cheese was omitted, we had to ask for it. Lamb burger was delicious though, best lamb burger I have had. Tender, arrived medium, spicy. Cheesy cheese burger was also good Sliders nice expected abit more from them. Cocktails awesome.

Highly recommend you to ask to see the rooms and accommodations. It doesn’t look like their photos. The furnitures are old, the tv is old, the poor is terrible. I can get a better room elsewhere with a better price. The services, and staffs are super nice and friendly. I tried to write couple reviews and got deleted and also, they add fake reviews every time I explained my experience. We stayed in CT for 2 weeks and been in several hotels and this might be the worst them yet.

I have stayed here a few times and have had very good service, that is why we opted to stay here again, Not sure if the staff are Covid fatigued but you would think that with the lock down during covid and the impact the travel industry has had, that the staff would be going above and beyond to make sure your stay is world class, but I have had the total opposite man the service has been shocking, the safe in our room was not working they came to repair it and said the batteries need to be changed, the next day it was still not working. Then last night there was a fire door outside our room that was not locked or something, and every time the wind blew it would creak and slam making one heck of a noise, I phoned reception and made them aware of the issue, about an hour later I called again as nothing had been done, and then my wife went down to reception to ask they said they had attended to it, but it carried on the whole night. When we went for breakfast we had to wave for like 2 min to get a waiters attention to order a drink, then had to wave the waiter to bring a card machine to pay for the drink, and they never did then paid when we walked out. It's as if the staff just don't give a continental. Definitely a change in attitude in the staff from previous times that we stayed here. I don't think I will stay at the Protea Fire and Ice again, just due to bad service.

I stayed at the hotel recently and was impressed by the friendly service of the staff, the cleanliness of the room and hotel in general. The food in the dining room was great and the kitchen staff always helpful. Will definitely stay there again on my next visit to Cape Town.

The hotel is very beautiful, clean and professional even though it's located in somewhat seems like s downtown location. It has a beautiful view of table mountain, there is bar and swimming pool for entertainment. The staff is friendly but a bit slow one to had wait on queue for check-in that's a downside.

We had a wonderful stay at the Protea Hotel Fire and Ice. Very friendly staff. Clean room. I loved the decor. The location is great. Walking distance from shops etc. The breakfast was very satisfying. Next time we will try dinner too. And the cherry on top was that they granted me a late checkout which I cannot put in words. I was running the Two Oceans Ultra and I just needed that bit of extra time after checkout time. Thank you so much. We will be back.
