Amazing hotel however terrible front desk service and the reception seriously needs a shake up! Requested an early check in but the room was not available until 5pm? The front desk kept on making excuses and even lied about house cleaning busy with the room? When we went to check the room, there was no house keeping! It was not until we requested to speak to the manager and the room had miraculosly became available in 15min. The same afternoon guests were just seen complaining, some guest even got so upset and started screaming due to the front desk's incompetence! Food and room were spot on! Location great! Extremely disappointed with what could have been an amazing Marriott Hotel.

As a frequent traveler, I have stayed in countless hotels all around the world. But my recent stay at the Marriott Hotel in South Africa was an exceptional experience, one that I cannot stop raving about and recommending. Firstly, let me start with the excellent treatment I received from the hotel staff. They were friendly, welcoming, and went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was nothing short of amazing. The guest manager Loys, in particular, was an absolute gem. She was extremely professional, approachable, and accommodating, and always made sure that I had everything I needed to make my stay as comfortable as possible. I also had the pleasure of meeting the general manager, who was equally exceptional in her role and made a great impression on me. Moving on to the amenities, the bar upstairs on the pool deck was temporary but had excellent drinks. The suite I stayed in was newly renovated and had a modern design that felt luxurious and comfortable. The staff took care of every detail, making sure that the suite was always clean and tidy. This Marriott Hotel is a paradise for titanium elite members like myself. The perks and benefits that came with my status were truly exceptional, and I felt like a VIP guest throughout my stay. The hotel is undoubtedly one of the best Marriott hotels in South Africa, offering super quality services and facilities. Please keep this level. The breakfast served at the hotel was simply amazing. The variety of food options was vast, and the quality of each item was top-notch. The view of Table Mountain and Cape Town from the suite was breathtaking, making it the perfect place to start the day and end of the day. But what truly stole the show was the sunset view from the Suite. It was the best sunset I had seen in a long time, and I cannot thank the staff enough for making it such a memorable experience. In conclusion, my stay at the Marriott Hotel was nothing short of excellent. From the exceptional treatment from the staff, the luxurious suite, the amazing amenities, and the breathtaking views, everything was simply perfect. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an unforgettable experience in South Africa. Thank you so much to everyone at the Marriott Hotel for making my stay an unforgettable one! Thank you Loys.

Checked in yesterday. This hotel is a 4/5-star hotel, and it is located in a good location, near the huge shopping mall (one of the biggest malls I've ever been & it is a very nice neat mall -- you could find pretty much everything you want or need - a vast place, including eating stores,) and this hotel is in a good neighborhood - in an affluent neighborhood. The front desk staff was professional and courteous to welcome me. There was a welcome gift (recognizing the status of Marriott's guest) was ready in the room as well as delivered to my room pretty quick -- that was a very nice way to welcoming a guest, traveling from a different continuent. The housekeeping is pretty good -- my room was prepared well as requested via its Apps prior to checking in. Especially shout-out to the front desk staff whose name is, "Runell Booysen," who knows how to welcoming a guest and able to recognize the status of Marriott. That is one of reasons that I've been stayed with Marriott for 25 years, and look forward to staying with Marriott many more years to come. I just need to add a few things: the Front Desk staff is well trained from the Marriott Hotel Management. Why? They know how to assist guests, and be professional and courteous. Also, even the Security Personnel is great β€” being pleasant as passing by them, and asking me if I need any assistance. I’m so glad that I chose this Marriott Hotel over the others (I presume that the other Marriott Hotels are good/excellent). Highly recommended to the others who are looking for a hotel to stay in Cape Town, SA. Please keep up the good work!

I had a very pleasant stay in this beautiful hotel. Saturday night we had delicious dinner and Sunday morning we enjoyed the buffet breakfast. The staff is very friendly and we even got a tour of the spa, which we will definitely visit on our next stay.

We had awful service at the hotel. We called the day before to confirm if we can lounge by the pool after our spa treatments however, upon arrival, we found out that there is construction taking place. We ended going to the restaurant on the ground floor. We couldn’t get a table in the dining room due to it being fully booked and I kid you not during the 2 hours we were seated the dining room had ample space. Unfortunately, the service wasn’t any better. Our server was extremely cold towards us and made mistakes with our orders. It got so bad that the manager (I believe) had to take over our table. We were really disappointed as this was our end of the year function. The only redeeming quality is the Spa facilities.

Made a reservation on a Thursday evening to have some sushi with friends. The personnel at the info desk could not tell us which bar we needed to go to, despite showing them our reservation details. We were eventually seated at a bar, which was in fact the wrong bar and when we inquired about the sushi, we were told they would discuss with the manager but we're still waiting for a managers feedback. We decided to leave after about 10 minutes of poor, cold, unfriendly service.. Safe to say, I will not be making use of ANY of their services because of the treatment received from hotel staff.

This is one hotel that I am definitely going back to. Their service is truly 5 stars. They are very intentional with their customer service to the tiniest of details. My boys also had a great experience as the hotel gave them snacks and coloring activities on arrival. They were quick to assist and ensured that we enjoyed our stay. I highly recommend. I must also commend Yolanda and Loyce for their impeccable service. Top five things I enjoyed was ; the views, their meal options in the restaurant, food was also well seasoned, friendly and warm hotel staff and fast response to needs.

Very disappointed for a 5 star hotel! Made online booking for special deals early check in and late check out for my husband birthday weekend away. I have phoned before hands to let them know there will be a 6 year old boy and if they can also do little thing for the birthday even just a small piece of cake, the booking lady name Ulanda said I can up grade for extra R300 for extra bed and bigger room which I am happy to do so, I have also confirmed with her twice with early check in if including breakfast and she said yes, that’s part of the special. On the day we arrived the reception very rude and rolled her eyes on me said no deals included breakfast and at 8:30 the room is not ready, we send up paying full price if breakfast for two. End up there was no extra bed for the child and also NOTHING for my husband birthday not even a word to it. The bed is very old and uncomfortable, I end up not sleeping well as every small movement of my husband and my child I can feel it, the bedding is inside out and the beds are broken. Not recommend for any business man to sleep there as there wifi also very slow, I couldn’t even open a page. My husband took me for Taj 5 star hotel and we had a wonderful time so I book Marriott as I think it’s a standard for a 5 star hotel but no! The mirror by the sink is falling apart, very badly fitted after someone break it in the first place. Not worth to call this hotel as a 5 star hotel. Very bad experience.

Great business hotel - conveniently located at the entrance of century city. The rooms have a good size with the toilet separated. The bathroom is designed in the middle of the room with a big round shower in the middle. Great choices for breakfast. Definitely happy to recommend!

Spent an afternoon at the pool deck lounging and having light lunch and poolside snacks. A beautiful pool deck, not crowded with people where on can observe social distancing and get in a good swim. Crystal Towers allows non-hotel guests to swim and use the pool provided that they spend on something off their poolside menu. Considering that other hotels charge a cover fee over and above a requirement to spend on the menu too, Crystal Towers is a lovely option. They do offer 2 non-alcoholic mocktail options. The virgin mango daiquiri tasted like freshly iced mango, welcomed on a hot summers day. It is first come, first served and if the pool area has reached their capacity then you won't be allowed to enter if you're a non-hotel guest. Best to call beforehand to check if their is capacity for guests or not. Naturally, the comfy cushioned loungers also get occupied first but there are plenty of alternate seating spaced around the pool area and inside too. The pool area can get a bit windy, guessing it's the location of the pool itself so keep a light throw or jersey handy if you don't like the wind. Service was a bit slow, probably understaffed given the public holiday but at least the waiter was upfront and explained that our order was going to take some time. He also brought the items as it came out and kept us in the loop so that was helpful. Overall, a good experience and would do it again.

Their restaurant is under construction and they have a limited menu ,I.e no cakes , very little menu variety. Their facilities are TOP CLASS. The linen and gown in the rooms are next level. The room is quite spacious and is decorated SO NICELY. The staff at the bar make the best long islands EVER. The best part of it all is that check out is at 12noon. Only downside is that food ordered to your room takes 10 years to arrive.

Fantastic hotel. Breakfast is amazing, staff is super helpful and always trying to go the extra mile, open pool is beautiful with a lovely Table Mountain view, rooms are super clean and quiet, there's an open parking as well as garage (R50 per day) nearby. All in all, I'm very glad I booked Century City Marriott hotel for our 10 day stay at Cape Town and am looking forward visiting again!

The Hotel is conveniently situated in Century City. The Hotel is stylish and has a very modern finishes. The reception staff are very professional and friendly. The pool area and bar looks a bit disappointing and have limited stock. Service is also a bit slow. The rooms are very interesting in terms of the pink lighting and the round shower that is located in the middle of the room. It is pleasant and relaxing. I would have preferred the business workstation to be allocated closer to the window as the views are quite good. The TV looks old and outdated does not fit in with the feel of the decor. The user interface seems outdated as well, if you compare it to the system used at the Westin Hotel. The bed was okay. The Air-conditioning heating did not seem to work efficiently. The breakfast was okay, not unpleasant but nothing significant. The Hotel is a smoke free building and you would need to go outside to smoke which was a bit of an inconvenience. The overall experience was pleasant and more suited towards a business trip.

Nice hotel. Nice food. Good rooms big and clean. staff is friendly and helpful. Only bad thing is aweful wifi. It's hardly loading 240P video. Sometimes gmail not even logging. I was pulling my hair out to load the mail and get the work done. When you logging to wifi they says we are offering basic Internet connection. Trust me that is really basic like dial up connection. If your work based on more to do with laptop and internet avoid the hotel or get your own interent.

Secure parking is available, and the hotel's lounge area offers a warm and inviting atmosphere with a variety of comfortable seating options that cater to your work needs. Whether you're looking to focus on your work, enjoy a quiet moment, or indulge in a cup of coffee and a slice of cake, there lounge provides the perfect setting for your needs.** plug points and USB charging points.

The hotel is placed at the outskirts of Cape Town. It takes 15 min by car to reach V&A Waterfront. The hotel has two types of rooms: refurbished and the old ones. The refurbished rooms (7th and 8th by Nov 22) are much nicer and contemporary than the old ones. A bit odd the room layout as the bathroom is part of the bedroom (there is a glass wall between both). Not aligned with my 5 star hotel standards. The hotel is nice and quiet. Breakfast area is okay and food served is nice as expected for this type of hotels. The huge mall nearby could be a good choice if you are looking for more food options. It is literally 5 min walking distance.

Century City is always a great place to stay. The staff always seemed to understaffed and overwhelmed in the main restaurant and I have noticed this on numerous occasions. Outside of this the service is always amazing. Andile at the pool terrace bar makes delicious cocktails and the newly renovated rooms are fantastic.

We stayed here for the duration of our trip to Capetown. I know a lot of people prefer to stay closer to the Waterfront area but we actually preferred staying a little further away. There was a lot less traffic and it’s conveniently located for the other areas that we visited while we were there. They do have a car rental service on-site but we preferred to have our own car for the whole week. The hotel is very clean and has a lot to offer. The staff was great. They were always helpful and attentive to our needs. We got to experience two different rooms. One of them had recently been remodeled and was even better than our original room. We were lucky and had views of Table Mountain and the bay from our rooms. There are a couple of bars and restaurants on site and it is conveniently located next to The Canal Walk Shopping Centre (a large mall with a supermarket inside). They also have a day spa near the pool. We would definitely stay here again. Our only complaint was that the water in the pool was a little on the cold side but who has the time to swim when visiting Capetown anyway.

Rating the restaurant experience first- the staff proactively takes the coffee/ beverage order and forgets to deliver it! This has happened over 10 times with me now. Also, a few restaurant waiters are biased in their attitude towards a few guests. They cater to one race particularly well over others. The stacked food items like croissants have bugs roaming in it. For the Marriott standards, this was a huge disappointment. Also, the gym in extremely small and almost non existent.

Excellent place to stay if visiting Cape Town Friendly efficient staff. Very safe area to walk in only 5 minutes from Canal Walk shopping centre The on-site Hussars restaurant is excellent and not to be missed . There are other good restaurants within walking distance

Had such a bad experience at the Mariott, Century City. Room was dirty and stinky, could not stay there. Poor service and no empathy from the general manager. Absolutely shocking, will never go back as not the kind of place you feel welcomed. Staycation was ruined.

The hotel facilities are great, however, the service was poor. I was there for 5 days attending training, and here is my experience: 1. Used water glasses were being left on the boardroom tables for the whole day. I complained twice to the waiter about this, but it continued. 2. Lunch and dinner same not attractive meals the whole week. After attempting to discuss a change of menu, or even cooking style if menu can't be changed, their office refuses to interact with me and referred me to the organizers of the training. This was very arrogant, and if they bothered to listen they would have heard the number of complaints from our international visitors, who have gone back home with not a great experience of the hotel, and ultimately our country. It us bad when guests go into the nearby mall to get KFC instead of a 5 star (I doubt) hotel food.

My stay at the Marriott Crystal Towers has been Great! The check in team Runell and Melonie ensured everything went smooth. I asked both a million questions and they both answered each and everyone. Also Grant ensure our bags were taken care of and had all the knowledge in the word on places to go and see. The travel guy was awesome as well, his name was Russell I believe. The staff that works the kitchen area and restaurant on a night I would be greeted by InGrid she was amazing and made me feel special. She had so much energy and burst. EzEthu would take my orders and ensure great room service. She was also very helpful and smiled and knew the restaurant menu like the back of her hand. It was nights she work super hard it seems as if she was alone. Also the only bad part was I didn’t like how the manager his name was Jammeth how he spoke to her and an aggressive way. Maybe Jammeth should respect his associates better or atleast in front of guess! Also the day crew! You will not find a better smile than that of Nolu and Phewia. I would go for Breakfast just to run into Phweia and Nolu. Also I forgot his name but the gentleman that works the bar on the 1st floor by the pool was very helpful as well. I forgot his name so I will describe him so he gets credit. Tall guy with long hair. My guy ensure me and my party of 4 food and drinks came right on time. Please recognize the following associates. There were many associates that were nice and etc. but the associate name provided a level of customer service unmatched! Mr. Heard Bonvoy Elite Member

Beautiful rooms, spacious. Service is great. I enjoyed my stay. I'm definitely going back there. Only glitch is that the TV is not smart, so you can't Netflix. Bring your laptop and you'll be sorted. Apart from that, had a great stay.

Great for all your conference and business needs. Various conference rooms and boardrooms for workshops, annual Staff meetings and conference. Staggs helpful and professional. Going a luxury stay? Enjoy the spa, which offers a variety of packages and treatments for both hotel residences or 1 day visitors. There is also a Hassar Grill restaurant and a men's tailor and business suit store.

Have stayed there twice now. Service is great. My only complaints are that the 2 times I have stayed, I had some maintenance issues. First time. Shower needed to be unclogged and curtain stick fell off. Second time, power socket didn't work and ceiling light was hanging out. The breakfast was great though and overall all the staff were very polite and helpful. Overall still great! I will be back a third time for work. Let's see how it goes! They say third time is the charm.

It's a upper-class hotel in a wealth business park, frequented by what I assume is business guests. The staff don't really act with speed in mind. As a minority, I did feel out of place, and no one speaks anything besides English. Rooms were clean I suppose - As clean as a hotel room can get. Conference venue is okay. Snacks are okay. Lunch is okay. The overall experience - okay.

This is NOT a 5 star hotel by any stretch of the imagination. Unless you're traveling on business, I wouldn't recommend staying here, as its in a 'business park' and in the opposite direction of all Cape Town activities. The rooms were fine but very strange in that the shower is in the middle of the room! Its clear Marriott took an old property and tried to remodel it as inexpensively as possible to turn it into a business hotel (shower in the middle of room, locked old sliding doors where windows used to be, curtains in the hallways to make it seem nicer than it is). The breakfast was like vultures feeding on a corpse. We also ordered extra bath towels and they straight up just never showed. Too busy, too far, too business, bad service.

  • 5/5 Davinia D. 2 years ago on Google
The Marriott was absolutely lovely. I loved the service delivery. The valet service was absolutely spectacular, we were told it would take 10mins but it was always less which was impressive, we spent the weekend there and we did not have to worry about parking whatsoever as it was taken care of each and every time we arrived at and left the hotel. The breakfast staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast is something I'll never forget, there was everything I could imagine of having at breakfast and more. I was specifically impressed that they had smoked salmon as a pescetarian who is always short of options. The rooms were clean and the aircon worked perfectly. The view was stunning and my birthday weekend was nothing short of perfect as the Marriott did not give us any problem whatsoever, it was just surprise upon surprise of outstanding services and more than what I expected.

I stayed here in April 2022 during my visit to Cape Town. The hotel is fairly modern, the rooms are nice and spacious with a decent view. The design of the rooms is quite interesting actually. As a bonus, the hotel is right next to the mall, so you have a great selection of restaurants and such. Also the staff was friendly.

Just like anything there were things that went wrong, hpwever the service that followed, l was so impressed by. The duty manageress Lisa, made it her personal mission to smooth over things and go more than the extra mile to ensure that my husband and l enjoyed our stay to the fullest and l appreciated her gestures so very much that we will definitely be returning, gladly. Thank you Lisa for being a diamond amongst all that went down,it what could have ended extremely badly.

Really nice hotel and most of the staff is really nice, but the restaurant and service is really disappointing! My husband booked us a romantic weekend for our one year anniversary, but unfortunately the hotel did not live up to his expectations. He booked dinner at 7pm every night, we were supposed to get a 3 couse set menu from the chef but nothing was organized. We ended up ordering from the normal menu, which was very disappointing for the price you pay. They even changed one of the dishes that my husband ordered without telling us. They do not communicate with the staff, we had to make sure everything he planned went the way it should. We did not get the turn down service he payed for the first night, we eventually got it when he had to arrange with the staff the last night. We are very unhappy with the service and was told they would contact us... it is a week later and nothing. Very disappointing for a hotel that is supposed to be one of the best!

When arriving it seems to be and excellent choice!warm greetings beautiful foyer. Amazing atmosphere and restaurants. Then you get to the corridors, which are dark. The room was most disappointing!the carpet was absolutely filthy!!!tub had hair in it. Very outdated tv(limited to 9 channels)not impressed. However being next to the mall is a plus! The fitness room lol, no machines work, the weights are good.Overall they could do some much better.

Valet and concierge service was good from the word go. Some staff members are super efficient yet others are simply sullen and tardy. The room design is something different and finishes and lighting is excellent. Toilets are unstable and tv's are outdated although smartly concealed at the edge of the beds. Breakfast area is too small in relation to the amount of people waiting to be served but good nontheless. Drinks are overpriced

The hotel is neat, clean, and the bed was comfortable, Unfortunately I was there for a business conference and the service was terrible. We asked for finger foods and one of the food items provided was a steak on a skewer. To add to that, I ordered the Alfredo Al Funghi pasta dish, and the mushrooms were off. I wouldn’t go back.

I am so impressed by the hospitality of the staff and the people. I live in the area and with loadshedding, I was placed in the unenviable position of having an interview that started at 9pm our time because of international panelists. Marriott Crystal Towers came to my rescue as they allowed me to use their common space and WiFi in order to conduct my business. From the friendly doorman Grant who helped me by finding a plug point and plugging my laptop in, to the lovely Thandeka at reception. I cannot thank you all enough.
