A friend and I went to have the high tea there yesterday and it was so disappointing. The service was lacking. The waitress barely checked on us. Also she did not know what was being served on three tiered platter. We waited for 15 minutes for the bill and had to ask someone else to bring it. We were seated in view of the pool but next to the outdoor shower. Both kids and adults would walk past us to and from the pool and some of them were wet. The tables we so close to each other. We've been to other high teas (Table Bay Hotel & Mt Nelson) and they had designated areas for the event e.g. The Terrace/Lounge area. Something as sophisticated as a high tea should not be held pool side. I DO NOT recommend going there. It's more suited for happy hour/drinks by the pool NOT a high tea!Rather spend the extra money in order to experience class and quality customer service . The food was fine but my biggest pet peeve was the lacklustre service!!!! HARD PASS!

Such a great spot for my young son and I in summer and some warm winter afternoons and evenings. Pool is spectacular in summer but freezing in winter. Kids play area is great and staff and management are amazing and treat us like family! Hotel and restaurant are great. Thanks for great memories and more to come!!

Stayed at The President Hotel for a retreat over the course of 4 days and thoroughly enjoyed the stay here. The staff were friendly and accommodating, the food was great, and the rooms clean and comfortable. My favorite was the time spent down by the pool, enjoying the view and relaxing atmosphere, but the short walk from the hotel to the promenade and other local shopping and restaurant options was great, too! Highly recommend a stay here.

We had a wonderful stay at the President everything in the hotel was stylish, clean and well presented. A very good location with the hop on hop off bus stop right outside. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good and there was plenty of choice to have something different every day! We also enjoyed dinner at the hotel a couple of times the food was all very good and great value. The service varied as one evening it was very efficient and attentive and the next night they appeared very understaffed and unavailable. Overall there is some room for improvement we would definitely recommend and stay again.

Nice rooms. But a very busy and loud hotel. Lots of functions in public areas. Good food. The location is excellent. Not far from the sea for viewing sunsets and not far from sea point restaurants. All within safe walking distance.

We had the best stay at The President Hotel. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Rooms are spacious, comfortable, clean and tastefully decorated. Room service is top notch. The hotel buffet breakfast was one of the highlights of our trip - a wide variety of hot and cold dishes, pastries and cereals to satisfy every taste. Beautiful crystal clean pool. Overall a great family friendly hotel!

We spent 5 days at the hotel with some positives and some negatives. Position is excellent, 2mins to beachfront and promenade and also variety of shops and restaurants. Sea view room was large, clean but tired and needs a spruce up and new decor. The hotel is main BA hub for crew and they can take over main areas of the pool and get loud! Once one group go another arrive. The pool area is again in need of a makeover and is a tight space for all the guests at the hotel. Private children’s parties do not help with space either!! It also needs a good clean. The breakfasts are great, with plenty of options for all tastes and food is pretty good overall. Happy hour in the bar is popular. Staff are friendly and very helpful, but we did think that there are too many staff running around without a great deal of direction at times; meaning service can be rather hap-hazard. I would say overall this is a stop over hotel rather than a week destination hotel and due to several points above somewhat disappointing.

My wife and myself spent four night at this hotel and all along we felt like we were in an all inclusive hotel in America. The rooms were clean and cozy. The view was to die for overlooking the pool and the beach. The town was ritzy and the vibes was right. We look forward to breakfast every morning and the staff was nice and friendly. The experience was one in a lifetime.

This hotel staff was incredible! Do yourself a favor and stay at this beautiful hotel!! We were in Cape Town for our wedding and word got around to the hotel staff that we were having a wedding. We came back to a very warm welcome of cupcakes and rose petals all over the room! Wow, we are so grateful and happy we chose to stay here during our stay. We will defiantly be back ☺️

Great hotel is calm area of Capetown. Close to many restaurants and two minutes from the ocean front promenade. Our family room might have benefited from a few minor repairs. No other complaints - great stay!

If you require something please be prepared to ask at least twice. Some staff are exceptional..... The gents who raise and lower the barrier when you arrive by car are so welcoming and happy. Breakfast staff are exceptional, very welcoming and quickly fulfil your requests. Reception staff I found hit and miss. My room had TV which turned itself on at 4.20 am I ended up having to take it off the wall and remove the plug as I couldn't get help from guest services to resolve. The toilet flush system also kept sticking on so it wasting alot of water trying to get it switched off. You can easily and safely walk to the V&A along the coastal footpath, takes just over an hour and it's a beautiful coastal walk.

Just returned from a wonderful holiday in Capetown .Stayed in the President Hotel .It exceeded my expectation's in many ways . The location is superb , beautiful seafront views and beautiful walks along the Prominade . The buffet breakfast was exceptional and the staff were very attentive and so friendly and fun. Bedrooms and beds very spacious and comfortable and spotless. The pool was a lovely temperature and the cocktails were superb. I cant wait to return . Thank you to The President for making our trip so special

I stayed at the hotel for 10 days and booked directly through the hotel. I can recommend that, because a better price is offered and everything happens very easily. The hotel is very nice, has a pool with enough loungers. The pool service could be quicker but it was still to my satisfaction. The rooms are large and sufficient. There is a kettle and a fridge in the room. I highly recommend the hotel. Another thing to mention is that the hotel is in an area where it's safe to walk on the street. In addition, the hotel has a generator and is therefore not affected by the power cuts.

Food: 8/10 Atmosphere/vibe: 10/10 Bathrooms: 10/10 Friendliness: 8/10 Speed: 8/10 Now for the in-depth review... The general vibe of the place was very nice. When you walk in you get a very nice view of the lobby, which has high ceilings and a lot to look at. The staff is friendly and kind. They are also very helpful and have top tier, professional attitudes. The bathroom is lovely, clean and it smells nice. Only qualm is that the toilet flushing mechanism didn't seem to work properly and I had to press a couple of times before it flushed properly. Moving on, There are many photo opportunities to take at the hotel. The food was nice and tasty. The only thing I would mention that was wrong was that some of the food served was cold. Thanks for reading my review 😊 Xoxo, caity

Amazing place in an amazing location with very good food and service. The travel agents helped us so much and we really enjoyed finishing our day in the hotel. We only had a problem with Goddeh the security officer because he kept looking for tips (as for extra money) from the residents and me.. It made me feel uncomfortable. I definitely recommend this hotel!

We were greeted by excellent staff at reception and even had an upgrade to the sea-facing room. The kids were treated to shiny, juicy apples at reception. Our porter was very helpful and friendly. We thought it was going to be a studio room, but were pleasantly surprised with a separate full bedroom. The pull-out couch was not all that comfortable for the kids, and next time I will request mattresses rather. In saying that, the pull-out couch was made beautifully on arrival with lovely linen and pillows. We stayed in room 604. We enjoyed the bar service and it was great to see some family games on offer (chess and other board games). The breakfast was a particular hit! The kids loved the pancake machine and the omelettes were delicious. We had the pizza and wine/beer special and really enjoyed the pizzas. The pool area was a lot of fun and the views are amazing. There is a small outdoor kids play area with a jumping castle (kids under 10). This play area closes strictly at 6pm. The hotel was constantly buzzing and we really enjoyed our stay. Its location is excellent with a short walk to the promenade. We will definitely visit again.

My second time at this hotel for a children's birthday party, and the experience is really awesome. Staff is friendly and efficient, I've had no issues when ordering or sorting out the bill, and we were alot of parents. There's a nice and safe area for the non-swimmers and a pleasant big open type pool overlooking the city for better swimmers.

Very disappointing experience at the President Hotel. In the past the day visitors where welcome, then our second time around we had to pay R300pp, My family and I decided to go again as it’s close to where we live and really nice for the kids. When we got there the porter told us to go downstairs to the restaurant and enjoy a meal and then welcome to go to the pool area for day visitors. We ordered our meals which took more than an hour to arrive, while waiting we entered the pool area confronted by a lady asking our room number I then told her we are day visitors and just grabbing a bite to eat. She said no problem when you ready you can come inside. After spending pretty penny and waiting for nearly 2 hours only for one of the staff members to rudely approach myself and my little kids that we are not allowed it’s only for residence. Clearly all staff should know protocol, 3 people told me that we could enter. If I knew that we were not welcome and the way were were welcome , I would not have wasted my money on getting lunch. PS Cape Town day visitors also contributes to The President Hotel not only residence!

Great service and communication. Unfortunately, we were not able to visit Cape Town due to visa completions. But the hotel was understanding and reimbursement us fully even though it's the busy season. Highly recommend!

You can request special meals for breakfast. Like veg or kosher. Sea view is a myth not worth the extra money. But the location is in between. The rooms are decent and service is pretty good. Listen it has very good prices for the night. So I would stay there again. Always tip an you'll get good service.

The President Hotel is in a fabulous location, walking distance to the Sea Point foreshore and the Hop On Hop Off bus stop. The staff were always happy, friendly and attentive. The facilities were clean and well maintained.

Beautiful venue. Our suite was lovely. The view was excellent. Kid friendly spaces and kid friendly service. Porters and staff were kind and friendly. Waiters seemed too few to manage patrons around the pool area, so food and drinks took some time.

I was invited to a Bridal Shower high tea hosted at The Islands restaurant at the hotel. We were seated in a shaded area which I appreciated. We were allowed to bring our own decor, cake and party favours. The sweet and savoury food was in abundance. However, there was no list/menu of what these items were so I only took of the things I knew. Other guests were friendly and accommodating. The servers were helpful and went the extra mile. They organised a porter to help with all the gifts to transport to the car. Overall a nice afternoon out at a stunning location.

Really didnt feel like i got value for money. Clean and nice location, but the staff were not very friendly and the rate too much for what is offered. Breakfast was also very average

I would not recommend staying at this hotel. Extremely unpleasant staff who made it their mission to convey how much I was bothering them when I merely asked a question, I didn’t even require extra service or the like. It is reasonable to adhere to hotel rules but it is not reasonable to be told one thing by a staff member and then chastised by another staff member for it. The meal I ordered from the restaurant also left much to be desired, the “sticky chicken ramen” had no broth, bok choy or egg in it and the staff gave me no explanation for why the description of the product didn’t remotely resemble what I received. Very unprofessional and frankly rude behaviour in general at this establishment.

The President Hotel is a very nice of its kind. It is a beautiful, well decorated and modern place. The staff members are professional and kind. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The food is amazing and their conference rooms are a plus. Just loved my stay.

A beautiful, centrally situated hotel that has a great vibe. Lots of foreigners come here and there's a sense of cheer in this hotel always. It's extremely neat with spacious and modern rooms, the breakfast buffets and room service is very good. I would totally recommend this hotel and look forward to visiting it again.
