My wife and I had supper at the Skye rooftop bar. We purchased some online dinner vouchers and made a reservation weeks in advance. Somehow the date was changed but that was rectified via email and a apology was sent. On date night we waited from just after 7 to 20:40 before we ate. The process included verifying the voucher and then taking the order(more than 30 minutes later) and then we waited for our food. Service was very slow I am sorry to say. The venue has a nice view of the mountain and some sea. The food was tasty but portions were small and the chips as a side dish was over fried. Steak was very tasty and cooked in perfectly but not filling as portion was small. Nice venue but overall I wouldn't go back. I don't mean to be nasty but this is my honest opinion. I have to note that restaurant staff were friendly. Also it wasn't very busy to excuse the slow service

Terrible service. Great kids area, but sat at a dirty table for 30 mins before anyone approached for taking our order or to wipe down the table. Then ended up leaving before any food arrived an hour after ordering. Such a shame that such a beautiful facility is so badly run. All of this after they insisted we booked a table, which wasn't reserved or ready when we arrived at the agreed time of the reservation.

What a terrible experience, won't go there again. Everyone there seem too work at their own pace Waited 35min for my coffee and another 20min for my breakfast, which was ordered at the same time. So the reviews are true thought I will check it out for myself. Don't even talk about the food.Dirty tables all around us when we arrived.

Yesterday I visited the courtyard restaurant and I’m extremely disappointed in the horrible service I received. Iv been visiting the hyde hotel for years now and it would normally be my number recommendations to everyone I know. After yesterday I don’t think I’ll ever visit again. I made a reservation for me and my little family as I normally would I was welcomed with unfriendly faces. My kids was playing in the play area and the lady I’m assuming to be the floor manager while middle age lady with a floral top on gave my kid such a ugly look for making abit of noise. However that was not the worse part of my experience. It was my kid’s birthday lunch and I thought it would be an amazing experience and all the times before but to my disappointment it was a complete nightmare. We waited a whole 30 minutes not even being acknowledged we had to call the waiter that was assisting the people that came in after us. Then we were told that the kids eat free on Wednesday promotion ended when clearly as we entered the hotel there was a big sign stating that kids eat free. My husband had to go to the front desk to enquire… after the waiter told us the manager said that the promotion ended…. Unacceptable truly and he could clearly see the dissatisfaction on the waiters faces. We ate I couldn’t eat fast enough I just wanted to get out there… didn’t even get to order dessert due to being so extremely uncomfortable . We were not being checked on. We had to call to ask for the bill and when the bill came once again the promo was not honoured. My husband when to the front desk to settle the bill and only then did the waiter mention the kids promo… clearly shows that the hotel did not want to honour the promotion. We were not even wished well on our way!!!! Iv never ever experienced some horrible service from a place we actually pay for services. I love the Hyde hotel I think it’s a beautiful place but I’ll never ever bring my family to a places that clearly made us all feel unwelcome. Thanks Hyde team for spoiling my kids birthday!!!!

The place is amazing love the view it’s very luxurious and elegant the atmosphere so beautiful and great. The staff is friendly and very helpful. This place is a must go for the romantic atmosphere and for the beautiful view. Love the setup and the layout. the service is great and the waiters is professional. Thumbs up will definitely recommend this place. The food is a bit pricey but otherwise great service.

Honestly speaking, the hotel have services deserve thumb up, clean room, nice breakfast, they get swimming pool at the top with nice view of Capetown, I only hated the hotel can not provide even water in room, you will need to buy.

Room was so dirty that my black socks were brown and I had a lump of hair(which wasn’t mine) stuck to my socks! Shower has mould growing. Exceptionally noisy.

Great stay, fabulous and friendly staff. Perfect location, literally 2 min. walk to the beach and 1 minute walk to main street inn Cape Town where all the shopping and restaurants are located. Roof top deck has great view of the sunset.

The experience at this hotel has been very poor. Room smells strongly of grease from the restaurant kitchen directly below. The main bedroom wall backs out onto the main outdoor corridor where noise travels into the room at all hours. The bedroom is directly above the restaurant where you can hear music, noise of vacuums etc and staff at night when people are trying to sleep. The blinds in the lounge are cheap and don’t block out the light and the refrigerator is noisy, which is an issue for the person using the sofa bed. The bed linen has bad stains and doesn’t look properly looked after. The staff at reception were friendly, but can’t do much to change the quality of the rooms and structure of the hotel.

We had a table people table reservation in the restaurant only to arrive with the table not being available, staff suggested we could have a table outside and that incrediblly took long. The lack of communication while we waited in the lobby was incredibly shocking, no form of greeting whatsoever was offered when we arrived. We felt invisible, we stayed in the lobby for quite a while noone attended to us even when we upped and left. We were a party of 8

We were lucky enough to get married at this wonderful hotel. Kelly and her team went out of their way to make our day so special. Everything was a dream. From the chic rooms, to the amazing service and YUMMY food! We couldn't have asked for more! I would recommend The Hyde Hotel to everyone! Couples, Families, Friends & even solo-travelers would have a great time! The Skye Rooftop Bar has some of the best views in Cape Town, and the location is perfect for sundowners. Thank you again for the BEST time!

Friendly staff and very helpful.. it's just a welcoming place❤️. The staff at Purple Orchid are delightful as well. The food is so yummy and affordable as well. And most importantly the kids can have fun too.

Went there for lunch and wasn't disappointed with their burgers and fries. I'll recommend going there if you want a quality meal. The staff was extremely polite and helpful, which made the experience awesome. Don't hesitate to go.

We had an afternoon restaurant booking for lunch and drinks. Lift was out of order and we had to walk the 6 flight of stairs to rooftop. Bar and restaurant staff were super nice we soon forgot we walked the whole way. Heads up if you are not staying at the hotel you will need to pay to use pool and towel service.

I had a wikideal with the Skye Rooftop restaurant. We were well received, the 3 course meal offering was excellent and we comfortably finished our meal. The surrounding and views of mountain one side and sea the other was lovely.

We had dinner at sky bar, my wife and my brother had the steak as part of Wiki deals voucher, when the steaks arrived it was cold and so it was replaced and both steaks were extremely tough. I had the prawn and chorizo pasta it was spot the prawn. Don't think we be back soon

What a hidden gem and our new favourite place, especially for kids! The restaurant and play area is the best I've seen in Cape Town. Mercy was our waitress and what an incredible lady she is, an asset to the hotel.

When booking online I’ve red the reviews but still gave them the benefit of the doubt. To have my worst experience in the Spa on my Birthday was cruel! Not the feels or experience of a Spa at all… The Hotel reception was so professional and welcoming and neat, but when we reached the Spa, the receptionist was ‘cold’ and unfriendly and when the Therapists came in… wow what a poor image it is for The Hyde hotel!!! Definitely not recommended!

The place is amazing! It's has a pool at the top and a bar. There are really friendly staff. Susan was most helpful to my partner and I as we were moving between places and allowed us to check in before check in time. There's breakfast, lunch an dinner served there. The rooms are beautiful! It's also very affordable in comparison to places in Sea Point. A lot of things are in walking distance which is great. The sea is right around the corner. The only thing that sucks is that there's only one lift. I walked most of the times... Good exercise. Lol

I have stayed in a couple of hotels before, but this is the first hotel where I felt super welcome. The staff is super friendly and helpful. We stayed for one night. Had cocktails at the Rooftop bar. The view is unbelievable. The Purple Orchid Spa was such a treat. The massage was probably one of the best we have EVER had. Lunch at the Skye restaurant was delicious. We also used vouchers for our lunch and had no hassles at all using it. Thank you for the lovely stay! We will come agian.

It was a good experience. The play park was busy but it's always fun yo see children play. Due to the busyness, one food order was mixed up and the coffee arrived luke warm but the food was good and overall it was a pleasurable experience.

⛔ SOCIETAL INFRACTION ⛔ NOISE POLLUTION‼️ Without REGARD‼️ . . TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN; . The Hyde Hotel is located in a RESIDENTIAL neighborhood, but time and time again the management shows absolutely ZERO regard for other members of the public, that have the misfortune to live in close proximity! . The occasional planned events - that take place on top of their poolside deck - unreasonably BLARES excessively LOUD MUSIC and associated loud-speaker (pa) noise all across the airwaves. NOT A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE for ANYONE in earshot!!! . Only ONE QUESTION is left to ask?! Does the Hyde Hotel management have such a disregard for the surrounding community - that despite numerous bewildered requests (from a range of local residents) politely and patiently calling in to your offices to PLEASE have some respect and consideration! . KINDLY be REASONABLE and take the appropriate action to NEGATE this outrageous pollutive disturbance! Our patience as a community is RUNNING OUT!! . SINCERELY YOURS... . ~ Yet another DISGRUNTLED London Rd, Sea Point community Resident!

I gave this hotel 2 stars because although the staff I amazing we paid R145 for crumbed chicken breast and R125 for a burger that is supposedly gourmet but looked and tasted like cafeteria food. Although we had a voucher we paid a R120 difference and had we known we may have just taken a starter because the food is not worth the price. For some reason I can't add photos to this review

Decided to try out H13 Restaurant as I’d seen the kiddies play area on Instagram. While the play area made it the perfect spot for my little one (he did not sit down or rest from the time we arrived right up until the time we left), the service was extremely slow, and the food was below average at best. We ordered two orders of pasta, which had no taste and was very bland until we added some salt and pepper. It was also drowning in oil for some reason. The rump steak that was ordered was well done (ordered medium) and got sent back. When it came back it was so tough, and was left disappointingly untouched. It’s such a pity, because it would be a perfect spot for a chilled family lunch, if the service was quicker, and the food a bit better (especially for the price).

Good service and friendly staff. A beautiful hotel located in Sea point. Close to the sea. Lovely view of the lions head and signal Hill from the roof top. Great accommodation and wide range activities to enjoy.

Had to look for a waiter to serve us. When we sat down, we had to ask the waiter to clean the table. Waited almost an hour for our food. There was no music or TV playing and I would have enjoyed some mellow music as it was our wedding anniversary, just silence! Also no scenery, stared at the walls (in the courtyard)Only good thing was the food.

Used the restaurant facilities at H13. One of my favourite places to go when in the CBD. Happy hour at the rooftop was legend once again. And the added kids play area is a huge upgrade. Love it. Will be back soon.

From checking in with super friendly staff. They were very helpful with giving me suggestions on what to do in the area. They were a accommodating allowing me late check out. Food is good as well and it's walking distance from the beach

There was a security concern that was basically ignored by the staff. Someone tried to open our door in the middle of the night while we were in the room. We wanted to get a refund and they wouldn’t issue one. There’s only 1 person working in the hotel at night. This isn’t a safe place. Specially in a dangerous city like Cape Town. The place is run down, there’s mold and rust everywhere. The pool is dirty and looks nothing like the pictures. Poor service and hospitality. Definitely not a 4-star by any means. More like a 2.5.

Was at the Skye rooftop bar for my birthday late lunch and sundowner cocktails I must say the food was amazing not forgetting our well informed server Blessing and the beautiful yet froemanager on duty Ashlin who kept checking up on us made us feel welcomed! A great place to go for sundowners views are breath taking for sunsets definitely coming back soon. Thanks for your hospitality

The Rooftop bar offers an amazing vantage point from Sea Point toward Signal Hill and Lion's Head. The bar staff are friendly and interactive, and make a great cocktails.

The hotel is located in a very nice neighborhood. Nearby the Sea Point Promenade. Service is acceptable. The swimming pool isn't as great as shown on the pictures and the gym has very poor equipment. The rest is excellent.
