We stayed one week at Villa Viva and could have stayed for a whole year. Besides the higher purpose of the guesthouse - supporting people with clean drinking water and sanitary facilities - the spirt of the Villa is amazing and unique. The whole building was renovated and looks like a cozy boutique Hostel with beautiful rooms. From the first minute we felt like family, the staff was warm hearted and always willing to make our stay special. We enjoyed the Fridays BBQ, live music, art exhibition and daily activities. Happy to come back to this special place soon!

We had an amazing time in the Villa! The people who work there made our stay really special and welcomed us as we were family. It was such a pleasure to meet them and they fill this place with love, great energy, positive vibes and they can give you always great recommendations for things you want to do. Even for families with kids it’s a perfect place to stay. Our child (2 years) loved it as we did. We would always go back!!! Many thanks to all of you!

Loved it. Rooms clean. Linen and towels clean. Pool available but didnt use it. Lovely staff. Great that they have a bar and great coffee. They always plan some event/activity for their guests. I love that it is so multicultural, ppl from all over the world. Kitchen is accessible to all for cooking.

The place is perfect. Rooms and public areas are super comfy. People who work/stay here are all very artistic and no wonder it's truly the best in Cape Town.

What a great place to stay! Still walking distance from the city center (closer to the upper end of Long Rd.), very nice and helpful staff and volunteers. Nice clean rooms, plenty of communal space, including meeting rooms, a workshop and a pool. Reliable and fast Wifi. Good breakfast with plenty of options.

Awesome location and accommodation. Stayed in a private room with a shared bathroom and there were zero issues with cleanliness and access to everything needed to enjoy our stay. The staff were kind, friendly and hospitable. Easy to walk around to restaurants and felt very safe and secure. Would stay here again and again!

I've been here for 8 days now and have really enjoyed my stay. The private room I was given has been cosy yet spacious, and well cleaned / looked after. Nice bar / lounge area to meet new people. Staff are friendly an on hand if you have any questions. Special mention to Bianca for being an awesome, funny and person, as well as a hard worker. She pours great drinks, makes people happy, serves quickly and cleans the bar area spotless!

Villa viva. The people here were very nice, brekkie is OK and its a hostel with a great cause. However... If you are a solo traveler looking for the social experience but with your own room, consider this first. The walls are thin and my room was almost next to shared bathrooms. I woke up many times and stared at the ceiling for hours because of slamming doors and talking/screaming (and even puking after the party on the weekend) people. The room with ensuite bathroom is humid, no heating or view - in my case. It was not worth the investment in my honest opinion. Either go for the shared room or take a hotel room somewhere for basically the same price.

Wow! Just amazing! Super friendly staff, great pool and hangout spaces, the guests are all welcoming and friendly and this place has really nice hostel vibe. I’ve got the room which is fantastic. They also serve breakfast at the morning and there is a nice kitchen to cook or heat your meals at. Some of the revenue goes for water charity which is awesome

Villa Viva is an amazing hostel located on a perfect spot in Cape Town. There is a lot to do around the hostel, some walking tours, the beautiful and coloful Bo Kaap begins directly next to the parking lot in front of the hostel and it is also a perfect starting point to plan some hikes (Table Mountain, Devils Peak, Lion's Head, Pipe Track) or to go to the beaches at Clifton or Camps Bay. The Hostel as an amzing flair and a wonderful commity that welcomes people from all over the world. Iwas there as a solo traveller, made some new friends and travell buddies. The rooms were clean, the pool area welcomed to hang out, especially with a wonderful view at Table Mountain. When I will be back in Cape Town, I will stay again at Villa Viva :)

I spent about a month at the villa and can only recommend it: great and warm team, cozy & clean rooms, delicious coffee & breakfast and shared braai. The location is perfect for any activities. The icing on the cake is the hostel cat. I slept in private rooms as well as in the dorm. Favorite place: the garden area with the pool. In my last week, new curtains were installed on the dorm beds. The people in the villa are from various nationalities, but mostly very chilled and fun to spent time with. The whole villa team is super helpful and absolutely lovely! Will keep my stay in the villa at heart and hope to be back!

had a very nice stay at Viva Cape town. I travelled alone and gut Instantly connected with the super friendly team and the other travellers. Its a chilled Hostel. By day you can just walk to the center or coffee places next by. You also support the Viva con Agua Foundation by staying in the Hostel. The Athmosphere is warm and Welcome. Good beds, more a "lets do/hike something together instead of a Party hostel". I really enjoyed being there. WiFi is also pretty stable and good to work with.

I felt like this is a home away from home kinda vibe. There is a community of people to do things with as well as be by yourself. They have live bands that perform there. The staff goes out of their way to help. I would recommend this place to everyone. It's close to everything as well.

Dear Villa Viva team, thank so much for the wonderful time I got to spent at your hostel/guesthouse! 🫶🏼 I came as a solo traveler to Capetown and almost spent four weeks in the Villa Viva and absolutely loved my time there. It was definitely more then I expected, and I sure this is the best hostel I’ve ever stayed at. Also considering that the hostel is only one year old I was more than satisfied with my overall experience there. First of all, the whole accommodation is super super clean, beautifully furnished and decorated with great art from different artists and lots of plants! The Female Dorm Room (where I stayed in) features super comfy beds, lots of living space and a bathroom accessible directly from the dorm room. The terrace and the bar area always invites you to eat together with other guests or employees of the hostel and the garden feels like a small oasis in the middle of this big city. ✨ But what really makes this hostel special in my eyes is the wonderful team working there. The staff and the volunteers instantly made me feel welcomed and after a short time of living there the Villa felt like my second home so far away from my home in Germany. Everyone working there is really open, always up for a chat before or after a long day and super helpful if you need an advice or help with anything. I absolutely loved the dynamic between the staff, the volunteers and the guests all together. People there just get along in such a natural way and I really appreciate all the stories and memories I made at the Villa… Adding one last big thing to the list is that, during my stay I’ve also learned more about the NGO “Viva con Agua” which is really cool, since the Villa Viva is a family member of VcA.💧 I am super excited for my next stay at the Villa Viva, thanks!

Probably the best accommodation in Cape Town for travelers or remote workers. Offers everything from hostel dorm to private suite, while being super clean. Nice people, good vibes, fun events. Good restaurants and bars in walking distance. Wi-Fi is pretty fast as well.

Villa Viva is honestly one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed. Not only the beautiful property and the breathtaking table mountain view, but also the wonderful people and the warm, welcoming energy made my stay very special. It’s a space full of creativity - art, music, events - and togethernesses. Also the social (business) and tolerant vibe there is very present there, what I personally appreciate a lot Thanks for a great time. 💙

This hostel hit my heart. Everything was perfect: location, cleanliness, security and above all the lovely people here, especially the Volentiers! The concept of the hostel is to create a home away from home and that's exactly what they achieved! After a short time you become part of the family. If you are thinking about choosing this hostel, do it! You will be welcomed with open arms and you will definitely want to come back, as many others! Thank you villa viva for a home far from home ❤️❤️

it has more of a "backpackers lodge" feel to it, and we missed not having a tv in the room....it was clean and served our purpose, the day reception girl shld not work in hospitality though....

I booked for a deluxe room with a single double bed, the bookings.com platform showed that what I have booked is available, when I arrived I was given a room which is different from what I booked , with two separate single beds, no TV In the room as per advertised, no soap in the bathroom, it was a totally different setup from what I booked online, very disappointed ☹️ , if it wasn’t for the fact that I had already paid upfront below arriving at the place I would have cancelled, I booked the place because it had good reviews, I believe they could have commicated that bookings shows the room to be available but it’s actually NOT when I called to confirm pre arrival, OH WELL I paid for a BIG BED, but slept on a small boarding school SINGLE BED😒

I had an amazing experience at Villa Viva. They run a very clean, safe, cute, and comfortable place. We stayed for a week and they were able to accommodate our big group and make us feel at home in Capetown. We were sad to leave the staff as they were so friendly! Definitely recommend!
