In
the
year
2023,
I’ve
spent
7+
nights
at
this
hotel
in
specific;
I’ve
had
some
good
stays,
however,
the
last
two
nights
here
have
really
sealed
the
fate
around
whether
I’ll
stay
here
again
or
not.
I’ve
always
said
that
the
Marriott
Group
made
a
monumental
mistake
by
partnering
with
Protea
because
the
quality
of
the
two
brands
do
not
overlap;
Protea
is
always
a
hit
or
miss
&
have
a
natural
tendency
to
not
improve
as
they
have
no
real
incentive
to
do
so.
The
Protea
in
Sea
Point
hasn’t
improved
one
bit
in
the
last
18
months.
The
rooms
are
small,
lack
amenities,
lack
a
table
&
chair
for
the
business
traveler
to
work
out
of
their
room,
the
bar
downstairs
serves
Durbanville
Hills
wine,
the
food
comes
from
a
Spur,
the
Daikin
air
conditioners
barely
work,
one
lift,
tour
buses
after
tour
buses
clogging
the
entrance
-
just
too
many
issues.
This
is
a
great
hotel
for
the
oblivious
foreign
traveler
coming
in
on
a
bulk
booking
-
you
have
Sea
Point
promenade
right
there,
Camps
Bay
is
7min
away;
life
is
good.
For
the
South
African
traveler
though,
this
hotel
at
the
price
point
that
it
comes
at
is
actually
unacceptable.
So
long
Protea
Sea
Point,
it
was
good
while
it
lasted.
