It is a beautiful hotel with an excellent location. The team was available and really nice. The breakfast is excellent with a lot of choices, and dinner is amazing. My only negative point was the electricity, too much power cut. The hotel has a generator, but outlets do not work during the cuts. And the WiFi is disconnecting too often, and you have to go to the reception to get a new code. But I definitely recommend it.

I booked a voucher for my parents and booked in advance for their dinner with their names and surname, which was confirmed. Upon arrival my parents were made to wait about an hour because they didn't have a printed voucher, although they showed them the voucher on the phone. No apologies were said and the restaurant was bustling with guests. My parents also didn't enjoy their food all that much, but they loved the desert. I came through after the gym to see them and was unhappy to see them seated in a corner table right at the entrance of the restaurant. The parking underneath the hotel also doesn't allow for direct exit into the road you came through to park and it was difficult to find a pay station and was not very accessible to those walking with crutches. I would not book another voucher for this restaurant again although it was not the worst experience I've had at a place. The concierge and front door staff were very friendly, and there was a lovely display of a real flower bouquet in the foyer, some of the traits that were great, however not the greatest experience overall.

Enjoyed an awesome dinner at the Clipper Restaurant. A head's up to go hungry as the portions are very generous 😅. Can highly recommend the Roasted pepper and Tomato soup (spicy), as well as the Buffalo Wings' starters. Limited space to rave about the Mains 😁. A definite dining experience.

Great place to stay for trips to Cape Town. I always stay here. My room view is incredible and the staff is friendly. The breakfast buffet is also really good. It is walking distance to the V&A and close to most things.

Loved the rooms and the dining, the place has historical vibe to it but quite updated to feel contemporary at the same time. The rooms are great, internet connections is good, the food is perfect and the proximity to VA Waterfront makes it a great way to enjoy cape Town

Outstanding hotel on the Waterfront. Service, hospitality and welcome were excellent. We had a fantastic time in Capetown and the hotels location, staff made us feel at home from the day we arrived. Food, rooms, facilities were all top draw and we would certainly make a return visit in the future. Many thanks to everyone for making our stay so special. Simon + Steve x

We did a big daddy's deal special as we can't afford the tourist prices..let's call a spade a spade..3 course meal and it's worth every penny, friendly staff and waiter Mr Soloman, exceptional food, dam it's good, good looking food and 5star taste, tx for the experience

Have to admit I was disappointed. We had a set menu Staff were fantastic and attentive. Drinks prices were astronomical but I didn't mind as it's what I expected from this sort of restaurant Long island R125. Starter had undercooked semi raw meat balls Main meal was a rubber steak and what seemed like microwave woolies vegetables potatoes hot on the outside and cold in the middle Desert I had the Oreo cheesecake with an excessive amount of caned processed whipped cream. Dated interior design.

After a bad start in this hotel (our room was so loud!), the Manager at Reception, Mr. Munti, helped us by moving us to a more quiet room. We had a fantastic stay and I can only recommend this hotel. Best breakfast of all hotels we stayed at in South Africa. Freshly cut and peeled fruit every day!! Also the chef at the egg station was super friendly and welcoming. Swimmingpool and gym also great! Location is in walking distance (even with small kid 4y) to VA Waterfront. Valet parking is included which is a huge advantage.

I don't often leave reviews, but this hotel is made 4 star by their staff! Beautiful rooms with amazing views and the outdoor area is so peaceful and beautiful. However the staff at commadore are the best I have ever met! Huge shout out to Amanda that made my stay! the most amazing and kind person I have ever met! the guys at the bar are super friendly and helpful as well as the rest of the restaurant staff ! The receptionists are very helpful and nice. Gabby always has a smile on her face, and despite annoying customers bothering her, she's very professional. She was so helpful during my stay and a pleasure to deal with. Huge thanks to Yanga and Petronella they were just a dream to deal with. Bottom line, this hotel is perfect with an amazing location, but its the staff that makes rhis palce even better, and i couldn't thank them enough ❤️

4 night stay. Room layout not optimal and carpet is old and quite smelly. Difficult to get into Bathroom if closet door was open. Staff was pleasant but not friendly. AC was noisy and old along with most of the furnishings. Great location with easy access to waterfront and plenty of restaurants. Housekeeping was excellent but be prepared to wait for a cup of coffee at breakfast unless you develop a connection with one of the staff.

Stayed in junior suite. Awesome size and space, only thing is load shedding affecting aircon. Thought they would have generators. Breakfast was great n definitely put in weight!! Walk to v&a is safe n convenient even w bags of shopping. Food options at VA is awesome.

We have never come across such rude and disinterested staff in our life. They visibly sighed as you approached the reception desk, at breakfast took at least 20 mins to bring cutlery and tea and coffee and asking them to book us a table at a restaurant seemed like an usual request. They made us feel like an inconvenience. Our room on the second floor was facing the road and was next to the lift so throughout the night we were kept awake by the dinging of the lift and noise from the road. The room was really dirty with mould in the bathroom and thick dust on the carpet. When we complained they told us they couldn't move us as they were fully booked, they said they'd clean the room but we noticed no difference. The room and bathroom were also really tired and in desperate need of upgrading. The pool area was also really tired and in need of upgrading. You needed a different password twice a day for the WiFi which was frustrating having to keep asking reception for and as per the above there was a lot of sighing involved in providing it to us. The location was fantastic but there are so many hotels nearby which I'm sure would've been a lot better for £180 a night! Definitely not a 4 star hotel and by far the worst hotel we stayed in for our entire 2 week trip.

By far the worst spa expensive I have ever been to! A horrible couples room. With no space at all. The therapist was practically walking into my arm all the time. An aircon in the room which was extremely loud. The blinds brought in bright light. The beds squeaked and the room smelt like varnish. Absolutely lacked the spa aesthetic. To top it all off the service was poor ! And the ladies had no etiquette. The hotel Auberge partnered in this deal is an absolute waste of money! It is extremely misleading so to the point where I actually feel robbed ! Would not recommend!

The Commodore is truly an amazing property. From the seamless checkin to the professional courteous staff, the exceptionally appointed rooms, to the delicious breakfast and the location so perfect!! I highly recommend this for your dream stay.

This hotel was really good. One thing I really liked about it was the friendliness of the staff. The cooks made amazing buffet breakfast ( that is not included in the hotel price. You will have to add it.) I am completely satisfied with my stay and service In sum this hotel is great if you do not want to spend too much money, but want to have a good time

Would recommend the Commodore hotel to friends and family. The location is just by the water front so felt safe walking to the restaurants and shops on the sea front. It’s then a 30 minute walk into the city of Cape Town, but expect to be approached often for money as a tourist in the city itself (wasn’t by the water front). The service at the commodore was second to none. Staff at check out were approachable, service at bar and restaurant was always speedy and room was cleaned well daily. I’d also recommend the fish platter in the restaurant - so tasty (and filling). Only thing which might have improved it was for the air con at a ‘low setting’. However overall room were nice and clean and couldn’t hear any noise from outside. Be recommending the hotel to anyone planning a trip to Cape town.

Our room was on the second floor and faces the main road so it got quite noisy at night. Overall amazing location though rooms were a bit old.

I had the privilege to stay here a few years ago. One gets the royal navy feel the minute one walks through the doors. I love the fact that it's walking distance to the V&A. Beautiful place, lots of natural light flowing through the hotel.

Awesome service and the food is great. Oh, forgot to mention the mighty friendly staff and room. Rooms super neat. I would recommend it as the hotel of choice if you are in town.

Great location, very close to the Waterfront. Staff were amazing and incredibly helpful. The only issue I had was that itbwas pretty cold and the heater was very noisy in the room. Breakfast could be improved but overall a decent hotel and worth staying for the location and friendliness of the staff.

We had dinner at the Clipper restaurant. If it is fine dining you after, not that I am so familiar with fine dining, this is not the place. That being said, we had a 3 course from the special of restaurants week. The food portions were enough. We did not need to stop at McDonald's afterwards😁 The winelist, spoilt for choices, but the prices are not for normal working class. That being said, we had a good time, service was really good and we had we had nothing to complain about.

Staff were very friendly. View from our room was amazing of table mountain and the harbour. Staff on reception went over and above to try and help us. Dhwayne and Paige were fantastic at sorting out an issue we had with Avis. Thank you so much

Thanks for making of our stay an unforgettable experience. Rooms are beautiful, clean and spacious, the views of the waterfront are stunning, the staff kind and helpful at all times, the breakfast just amazing, and the location just the best in town. Great value for money and definitely a fantastic accommodation option in Cape Town for everyone! CONGRATULATIONS!!!

The Commodore gave us the best honeymoon experience!! I can definitely recommend this hotel if you're looking for a Cape Town honeymoon destination, or just a place to unwind. From free champagne, a personalized card, rose petals on the bed, and roses in our bathroom, to the absolutely delicious desserts, we could not be happier with our stay here. The staff were also so friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be returning soon and often!

Cannot say enough about our stay at Commodore. The rooms were comfortable and clean. We especially loved the breakfast (something--or many things!--for everyone), but the bar and the restaurant were great for lunch and dinner as well. The best part was the helpfulness of the staff, from refilling the coffee in our room to booking airport transfers, transportation to our next destination, and assisting with getting around locally. Wifi was great as well. With a *fabulous* location at the waterfront to really seal the deal, we couldn't have had a better stay.
