Three nights, we arrive the bathroom is dirty with pubic hair on the floor, after a first complain they said that they apologize and that it will be cleaned. Second day it was not cleaned. They apologized and said that they will clean it. Third day still there … hotel dirty.

The check-in service was terrible. It was a first time experience, where a hotel requested R250 to check-in a bit earlier. Upon arriving at 2 pm as requested, the reception informed me that the room might not be ready. This was frustrating. The parking process was not great at all. Ended up waiting a long time to enter in the evening.

I surprised my husband with a 1 night stay for his birthday. I bought the deal on * Wikideals which included a 3 course meal and breakfast. The check-in was quick and easy, the room was clean and cozy. The staff was very friendly. I especially looked forward to the dinner but was greatly disappointed by the quality and taste of the food. Our starter was delicious!! The mains (oxtail and Tomahawk steak) was tasteless and below average. The dessert (pancakes with berries and chocolate fondant cake) was dry and chewy, we didn't eat it. Fountains hotel please improve the quality of your food and not just focus on quantity. Overall we had a very nice stay but I cannot forget the poor standard of our dinner, which was supposed to be special.

THE HOTEL LOCATION IS GREAT.THE ROOMS ARE GOOD. BUT THE RECEPTION STAFF OF THE HOTEL NEEDS TO LEARN TO TALK TO THE CUSTOMERS. ONE OF THE WORST STAFF(RECPTION) I'VE COME ACROSS. THEY TALK TO INDIANS AS IF WE ARE STAYING FOR FREE AT THERE HOTEL. THE RESTURANT/HOUSE KEEPING STAFF IS VERY FRIENDLY BUT THE PEOPLE AT THE RECEPTION BEACUSE OF THEM OUR ENTIRE STAY WAS NOT THAT GREAT,LOT OF ARROGANCE AND ATTITUDE. DEFINATLY WILL NEVER STAY AGAIN IN THIS HOTEL.

The Fountains Hotel exceeded all expectations and more! 🥺 My friend and I had an absolutely fabulous time! From welcoming and super friendly staff to a spacious, comfortable and well equipped hotel room, to the facilities of the hotel. An extra shout out to Mr D and the bar/barista for their extra super friendliness and professionalism! (Their customer service is definitely spot on!) Will be returning for a short break soon! Thank you Fountain Hotel 👏🏻

Went for a 1 night stay for my Husband's birthday and although I was a bit nervous because of some of the reviews I had read before going, we had the most amazing experience. From the check in to the cleanliness to the restaurant to the check out all the staff members that we encountered were delightful, welcoming and eager to help. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Thank you to all fountains hotel staff members for making our stay so pleasant.

A four-star hotel with a lot of potential, though not a four-star experience. Reservations – For such a simple process, though, many complications. To name a few, we had to call multiple times to receive our booking confirmation via email, after being assured "they are sending it right now" . Our booking was also confused with another couple who shared the same surname as ours - No due diligence taken here. Concierge – Not friendly. Guests are not welcomed with a pleasant face or tone, hardly any eye contact when communicating. The only gentlemen who was cheerful and welcoming at our arrival, was the man who stores the luggage – not sure what his name is, but what a nice guy. Rooms – Decently sized, a bit dated and needs a bit of refurbishment. Rooms were fairly clean, though the toilet was not cleaned properly and still had some sort of residue from someone else. Despite being a couple, we were only given one towel. The only “nice to have”, was that they provide quality personal hygiene products. Restaurant – In terms of food, quality is fair but not great. Gloria, the lady who prepares your eggs at breakfast was the highlight of our stay with her pleasant and friendly nature. In summary, this hotel has a lot of potential, though management seriously needs to make some drastic changes – not sure how this hotel holds 4-stars.

Good Morning On behalf of Dr Bailey and family we wish to extend a big thank you for your excellent service last night. The Family had an amazing experience at the restaurant. The customer service was outstanding, and the meal was exquisite and very satisfying. Well presented as always, value for money. Thank you for the sweet treat and making their anniversary extra special.

We celebrated our Anniversary with a 1 night stay in Room 903, what an amazing experience. From the moment we checked in, we were on cloud 9. We got welcoming drinks on our way to the room. The room was amazing with the most amazing view of the fountain and city. In the evening the lights of the city is so dreamy. We stayed in a beautiful 1 bedroom apartment room with a very romantic turndown. The cheese platter and champagne was a great treat. Dinner and breakfast buffet was any foodies dream. I would definitely recommend the Fountains Hotel. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. Service is great and the hotel is very clean and stylish. The Hotel is very close to the V&A waterfront which is very convenient and next to a Discem. They also have an amazing Mimosa special and they have a great selection of wine that is affordable. Thank you again to the manager and staff of the Fountains Hotel for one incredible weekend experience.

My husband and I had a very nice time there. A big shout out to Chef Gloria. She made our morning at breakfast. If all your staff is as friendly and accommodating as Gloria is, then your hotel is im good hands.

Was an absolute experience at the Restaurant!! Waiters were very kind and and always had a smile when talking to customers. We did experience a bit of a long wait for our food, but it was made up by a Cappacino on the house!!! Food was amazing, juicy and right amount of spices. Will definitely be going back!!!

Was not impressed a d definitely not 4-star. Stayed at the hotel on rwo occasions, the first was a single room apartment. It was decent. Had a welcome sweets, Slippers as well as a cold bottle of water in the fridge. Apartment was neat although not 100%. Second time we stayed it was in a 3 bedroom apartment. No welcoming sweets, slippers or even a bottle of water in the fridge like 5 nights prior. The room had a piece of chicken bone in the one room, crumbs on the sofa and there were roaches in the room, bathroom and kitchen. The stove was dirty and the cupboard door was chipped and tacky. I will never stay there again. Only plus side is that the staff is wonderfull and very helpful. I have photos of all these issues if interested.

The time of check in @14:00 is too long to wait in the hall and sometimes the service take bit longer and will frustrate you. The room is clean but I can say the carpet is not good for asthmatics people. The A/C in my room wasn’t working and called the front desk to reported it and I have been moved into another room more spacious pretty quickly . People working around are polite and are trying to make your stay comfortable. And I will award Jacques a 5 star for his help. I can say I have had a fair experience.

Restaurant review: I just want to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU VERY much for an epic evening at the restaurant on Friday. The 50th birthday guests together with my wife and I were super impressed with the restaurant , the food and the hosting. Please pass on our compliments to all who made the evening such a memorable occasion. Our compliments to the chef and his team for putting out such an awesome and delicious dish. Our guest could not stop complimenting the quality of food as well as the beautiful presentation. You have surely outdone yourselves and made ambassadors of us who we will speak fondly and proudly of your establishment. Lastly , a massive THANK YOU to you for your support and for being such a pleasure to communicate with .I appreciate everything you did and all your effort behind the scenes as well as the manner in which you and your team made us feel so welcome We shall definitely be seeing you soon again for more Wiki deal carnivore platters

Nice view, nice place for families to stay, spacious apartments. Breakfast was very good, elaborate. Hotel was comfy. poor conditions of the room: shower wasn't working and they couldn't fix it. We stayed for 3 nights. One room had a leaky ceiling which woke us up at 4 in the morning as it was raining outside.

Lunch special at hotel. Good food. Excellent value for money but no restaurant atmosphere. Loud serving staff who had an argument on the dining room side of the kitchen hatch. The location in the centre of town is its saving grace

We received a voucher as a gift for an overnight stay, with a dinner platter for 2 and buffet breakfast. Check in - great service, fast & efficient. Superior room: was quaint & neat but the bed was lumpy and not very comfortable. The RESTAURANT: Very poor service. There is no structure as a professional restaurant should have. The waiters/ waitresses are all over the place. From arriving and being seated, we waited almost 2hrs for our food and then our order was given to another table so what was the point in asking how we want our meat done (our meat was verrrry well done). Even our drinks took forever to come. The breakfast buffet left very little to be desired. The only breakfast basics at the 'buffet' was bread, eggs, yoghurt and cereal. There was a cheese & cold meat board but everything had crusty edges like it had stood over from the day before uncovered in the fridge. I would definitely not refer to any of the food as gourmet. Your restaurant will be the reason the hotel loses stars.

Extremely helpful and friendly staff! We had issues with our booking quite late at night due to Agoda, but the staff on duty were efficient and understanding. Our room was clean and well maintained (although could use a spruce up).

The Hotel is not bad at all. We enjoyed our stay. The staff is friendly and the food is exceptional. I would suggest booking at the sea point though. Our room had 0 views and there was a lot of people coming in and out felt like a public flat which we learned it also is a residential flat.

I am loving the place. The view from my hotel room is awesome. My room is beautiful. The staff is helpful and very very friendly. The breakfast and dinner buffets have a variety of well cooked/prepared food to try. Their TV's are a bit outdated though but I don't watch TV. The only problem I have noticed is the poor WiFi connection, I hope they resolve that. Otherwise, 5 ✨ it is!

A hotel in the heart of the mother city. Beautiful view and very close to all the places of interest and public transport if you feel like chilling and enjoy the ride and breathing views. Comfortable rooms and friendly staff. I have enjoyed my stay and chilling at the swimming pool !!!

We purchased a Wikidealmeal at this hotel. Our waitress' first remark was: ' Why didn't we pitch the day before?' As if we didn't book and emailed our booking for this lunch on Friday for the coming Sunday. Secondly we asked to swap our 2 glasses of wine for a beer and lemonade. This was not allowed. I could swap my glass of wine for a juice. So we had 2 juices and then, here arrives a bottle of beer??? We waited an hour for our meal. I wanted to know when our lunch will be served. Then we were informed that the chef/ cook had a problem with the one lambshank and is re-preparing another. We were offered to help ourselves to desert to compensate for the onconvenience This spoilt my appetite. Our meal arrived 20minutes later. It was tasty, though my lambshank was still cold near the bone. I requested a doggy bag and left. This place will not see me again. .

Went with friends. The rooms are suitable but kitchen space and cupboards can be upgraded. However staff is very friendly and helpful. Barman Blessings absolute gem of a guy, very helpful and friendly an gorgeous. The lounge area is immaculate and beautiful. Was not aware of the pool. Such a surprise for the location. Breakfast is awsome. Thanks to Gloria, the beautiful and helpful and very charming lady who fried perfect eggs sunny side up for breakfast. Defs will do Fountains Hotel for a quick stay while painting Cape Town red.

The location of the hotel is very nice and it has comprehensive services, except that the second floor is a gym and the third floor has washing machines, as well as smart screens.

Cool inner city hotel. Very friendly staff and neat rooms. Only thing I can fault is the parking which is really cramped but understandable given the location. Overall a pleasant experience.

If it was according to me, I would tell everyone never to try that hotel. Coach roaches everywhere, no towels in the rooms, the place is old and not cleaned nicely. The admin staff the worst service ever. There's no courtesy whatsoever. If only another company who understands business can take over and make it alive again

  • 4/5 Maxine S. 2 years ago on Google
You get everything you'd expect. Parking is a mission even at the hotel. The rooms are net and tidy. As others have noted, I too experienced some cockroaches in my room.

  • 1/5 Nhlanhla M. 2 years ago on Google
This has to be the worst hotel I've ever been to. - Firstly, Parking was a problem from the get go - there's not enough parking slots to accommodate the number of guests booked. - Secondly, the room I was booked in was infested with cockroaches and when I was moved to a new room, I still accounted them. - Thirdly, breakfast is supposed to end at 10 but by 9, some of the food items featured on the menu are finished😑 I personally do not recommend!!!

The hotel is lacking attention. It's starting to fall apart. Cleanliness lacks with dirty shower curtains and wash basin. Needs fumigation as xockroaches were seen walking around in our room. Broken plug points and failure to provide ice bucket.

Really bad air conditioning , very bad health hazard . Shower felt like prison . Room felt like prison . Windows we’re not able to open. I would not recommend the only thing I recommend is this place needs to be shut down . It’s really impossible for this place to be a 4 star hotel it’s not comfortable at all.

I booked March 2021 ,pay 10% deposited as requested by the Hotel and unfortunately I was retrenched at work September 2021 then I send the Email of Cancellation to the Hotel for my Refund October 2021 , even now January 2022 I have not received my refund. When I call they send me from pillar to post. So I would not recommend this to anyone.

Went for 1 night for my Husband's birthday was a bit nervous because of some of the reviews I had read before going but we had a wonderful experience. Every staff member we encountered, from the check in to the check- out to the cleaning staff to the staff at the restaurant were delightful and eager to help. Would definitely recommend their restaurant food and service was amazing. Thank you to all staff at this hotel for making this experience so delightful. Will definitely recommend this hotel to.

Excellent👏🏾I absolutely enjoyed my stay at the Fountains Hotel📍convenient location. Showers instead of bathtubs would be more convenient, especially for shared rooms. Bathtubs should be extras, not our only option. Other than that, everything was good!👍

I had a great stay at this hotel. The rooms were always clean and comfortable. The hotel is in a very central part of town as well so it was easy to access shops, chemists and restaurants in the area.

So I was given a voucher for a fish platter for my birthday. When I called to reserve a table everything was fine until I said I had a voucher. They said they were fully booked. Got there today to see an empty restaurant. My wife was served a cocktail in a slush puppy plastic cup. My sprite was flat, when I checked the date it was 3 months past the sell by date. When the platter came the shrimps were not cleaned ( the deposit canal ), and apart from the fish totally tasteless. The shrimps were cooked from frozen. The best part of this experience was grace our waitress. Service with a smile even though she could see we weren't happy. I don't know about the rooms but the restaurant isn't 4 star by a mile.

  • 1/5 John B. 2 years ago on Google
The room was infested with cockroaches. I don't understand how they can claim to be a 4 star hotel. The place is very old and dirty. The cleaning staff do not clean the rooms properly - they only dress the bed and wipe a few counter tops and are out of the room within 5 minutes, no sweeping/mopping/vacuuming is done. DO NOT STAY HERE. THERE ARE OTHER 4 STAR HOTELS IN THE AREA.

  • 2/5 Zahir M. 1 year ago on Google
Checking in was fairly simple. Went to the desk and was helped with check-in and all necessary information was explained to me. I had to find my room myself which was also fairly simple considering the size of the hotel and numerous floors. The actual room was ok. It wasn't entirely clean, as it had some stains on the carpet. The tea set that was provided was filthy, as if it hadn't been cleaned from the previous people. The bathroom was standard but there was no shower curtain on the rail. After calling reception, one was brought up and I had to install it myself. Each day I had to call for towels since the room was never cleaned or new towels being brought in. Sometimes after calling, no towels would arrive for a few hours or until I called again. The plug points to charge my devices were either broken or very loose meaning the charge would often stop. Breakfast was below average, ended up ordering food instead. When trying to have dessert one evening, I ordered a chocolate fondant. The waitress brought me a brownie which was hard as a rock with ice cream. After complaining, the "chef" came out and apologised saying that there was no chocolate fondant but instead of letting me know, thought it would be better to give me something. Seems more like incompetence if you ask me. Overall, this hotel is terrible. I've stayed in 2 star hotels that were substantially better than this. There is no way I would consider this a 4 star hotel.

Delicious lunch will try a stay on the wikideals promo definitely. The lady who served us was so kind, and the guy who took over was courteous. You might need to change the bar tender his abrupt and couldn't be bothered at all to help. So disgraceful start of our experience

  • 5/5 'Lolu A. 1 year ago on Google
A three star hotel for me! Located in the heart of town, one of the fancy thing about this hotel is the fountain in front of it. Once you walk into the hotel you are ushered into the reception and you are given a wet cloth to clean up your hands. After registration you are ushered into the lift which takes you to your floor. I was given a room in front of the lift and it was sometimes difficult to sleep. I am a light sleeper and the lift is quite noisy. The room was well laid except for few stain on the bedspread. The bathroom was ok except for a funny smell that oozes out from the toilet bowl. I feel it can be fixed with an air freshener. Breakfast are in buffet form so you have quite a variety. Lunch and dinner are usually alacarte and you might end up repeating meals if you are lodged in the hotel for a number of days as they have a limited menu. It has a bus station, pharmacy, super mart close by.

Restaurant staff as well as hotel staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly, also very willing to fulfill requests. Rooms were attractive, comfortable and clean. It was cleaned and tidied daily. Overall a recommended experience.

This review is strictly for the restaurant. The food was surprisingly good. We bought the Hyperli voucher and were accomomodated on short notice as we were told they were booked up. However on arrival the entire place was completely empty and only 2 other parties arrived during our dinner. The restaurant needs better lighting and this is a place I would prefer to visit in the daytime.

It was a great stay enjoyed a few days away from the house at a reasonable price. The staff was great and helpful. Check in was a super quick and easy process as well. Room service menu was a bit limited though and they didn't have half the stuff on it I was missing a shower curtain but other than that the hotel is ideally located in the CBD and I would stay there again

  • 3/5 Alex K. 1 year ago on Google
Great place for stay-over in central CBD. Had a nice breakfast this morning. Room very humid(lack of ventilation) but clean. Out of 5 sport channels, 3 were on soccer while both the Womens Rugby World Cup and T20 Cricket World Cup is happening. Friendly staff. Apparently items on kiddies menu(both on website and printouts in bar) no longer served.

We did not stay at the hotel but we had a meal voucher that we received as a gift for my wife and myself to enjoy. We had the carnivore platter for 2 (non vegan lol). Our waiter for the evening, Webster, was very friendly and helpful and he gave us excellent service (i think they were bit short staffed), but he did his best to ensure we enjoy our meal and kept us in the loop when the meal will be ready as they were busy. The food was very very nice and we could not be happy to have enjoyed our date night at the fountains hotel. PS. give Webster a compliment for his good service!!!
