We went here on Monday, the 3rd of January. We all enjoyed it, but we're surprised at the end because we thought that it was a lot of food but when you share a savory and a sweet platter between two people it is definitely more than enough food for two people. When we were ready to leave and pay the waitress told us that we have two complementary drinks on thr house for free and we didn't even realize that when we booked the night before.

Always a joy! We went to the Conservatory for light snack (toasted sandwiches) which were beautifully prepared and ample - served with chips and small salad. Service was friendly but it's the surroundings and view which make it such a special place. Try visiting on a sunny day when the tables outside are the best.

Green beautiful and peaceful garden. Service was good, food was amazing. I had kingklip served with Rissoto. I will be back for it. Just disappointing that they close the kitchen at 2:30. Something we were not aware of. But otherwise everything is fine effect there. We celebrated a friend’s birthday and they made it more special for her.

During our honeymoon, we spent an exquisite four nights at the cellars hohenort hotel, accompanied by our cherished fur baby. The experience was pure perfection, igniting our anticipation for a swift return. From the moment of our arrival, the entire staff showered us with celebration and attentive care. The property itself is a breathtaking spectacle, seamlessly transporting you through time as you stroll amidst the sprawling gardens graced by ancient 200-year-old trees. The rooms boast ample dimensions and inviting comfort, complete with a fully stocked refrigerator and complimentary wine to seamlessly transition you into holiday mode. Notably, the property boasts two generously sized heated pools, akin to an expansive jacuzzi experience. Indulging in their breakfast is an absolute must — a sentiment we hold dearly as devoted brunch enthusiasts. The continental and hot breakfast offerings are truly world-class, an exquisite blend of delectable flavors impeccably presented, offering all the opulence one would expect from a venue of this caliber. A highlight of our stay was partaking in one of their garden picnics. An absolute delight, it felt utterly indulgent to savor the beautifully arranged spread amidst this enchanting old-world paradise. As a discerning guest, I typically possess high standards, yet I struggle to find a single fault at the cellars hohenort hotel. Every aspect of our stay was nothing short of wondrous. On a scale beyond 5, I would enthusiastically rate our experience a perfect 10.

Lunch on a public holiday. A ladies’ venue it was clear. And lovely they were. Splendid. As marvellous as the furnishings. Menu excellent, wine list exceptional for the well heeled. Service charming but clueless. I would recommend it, make it compulsory, to anyone looking for a purple rinse in country surrounds.

Went for lunch. Tasty food, lovely presentation, friendly and good service. They also have a vegan menu and cater for different dietary requirements. Beautiful scenery and great setting to walk around in the gardens. Nice and relaxed atmosphere. Easy and sufficient parking. Been here before for dinner and high tea as well and recommend all! Service has always been wonderful.

Our stay at The Cellars was amazing! After having problems with a different accommodation booking the Cellars saved our holiday. The staff were so good and so helpful. Helenica, especially, (together with another Front of House manager) was incredible.... thank you!

Obviously a very bad day at the office for the kitchen of The Conservatory Restaurant. 3 of 5 diners' main courses delivered, but the remaining 2 over ½ hour later (the first 3 had already finished eating). All 5 desserts were delivered while the 2 late diners had not even completed their main courses. We had to request the waitron to top up the wine glasses. Although the restaurant had only reopened 6 days earlier, this was unacceptable for a 5 star establishment. The restaurant manager apologised and we did agree on an acceptable settlement of the bill.

Fabulous old Dutch estate dating back to the 1600's. Very high standards throughout with beautifully maintained gardens. A real gem of a hotel in Capetown. Highly recommended...

We had a lovely stay at this place. Very peaceful, lovely dinning and beautiful gardens. Will definitely return. Sad when you have to check out.☺️

When going for high tea.. Do not eat anything before.. We doggy-bagged ours for home.. All the eats were scrumptious, with first time ever tries. Staff are wonderful and the garden is amazing..

We only had breakfast so I can not comment on any other services. If the breakfast is anything you go by I am sure you will have a lovely stay at The Cellars. Service was excellent and the variety of options just perfect. So if you looking at spoiling yourself look no further. Oh by the way the Coffee is also excellent.

Oh my word! This is the most beautiful place for high-tea I’ve ever been at. How have I not come across this. It’s stunningly decorated, service is fantastic, food is delicious. We came here for a babyshower and booked a corner in the lounge and it’s so beautiful. Can’t recommend it highly enough and definitely going to be back for lunch/ dinner one day. We had some charcuterie boards, preserves, cakes and other baked goodies. It was perfect 😍

We had breakfast. As always the meal was excellent. A bit of a let down was that the breakfast menu had changed so that we could not opt for either a hot breakfast or a continental breakfast. It was combined on the menu card, and we found it quite pricey as we are not big eaters to have a huge breakfast.

Great hotel. A bit overpriced. Would most certainly stay here again, however the spa is the biggest disappointment for me. The light is very bad and is not great for waxing. Therefore leaving patches of hair. I also did not enjoy the pedicure as they do not soak or scrub your feet, but instead make you lie flat and bend your toes to cut away skin, nails etc. I found this very uncomfortable and sometimes sore. Because they do not soak or scrub your feet none of the dead skin is removed either and I find this one of the main reasons you go for a pedicure. Definitely wouldn’t recommend

We stayed here for 2 nights in November 2022, and had an amazing time, wish we had stayed longer and got time to use the spa. The property has 2 pools both were amazing a little cold to spend much time in when we went. It also has a small gym, but only suitable for cardio or light exercise. The location is very convenient, it was easy to get an Uber to see the penguins, and go out for dinner. The botanical gardens is really close by and easy to get to. The staff were amazing and so helpful, out room was spacious and pretty. The bed was very comfortable, and we got an included bottle of wine and lots of snacks which was useful for our excursions. The hotel has beautiful grounds to walk around in, beautiful flowers, greenery, and a small vineyard. We were lucky enough to see very cute ducklings. There is a restaurant (for breakfast, lunch and dinner) and bar in the hotel, the food was very high quality. The hotel is on the banks of the mountains and has great views, ideal if you want to go to Hout bay, Bolder beach, or cape point.

Hi there, It’s been a while since I wrote a review. Well, here it is! We had a end of yea function here, the service was great! And they have a wonderful garden that you can go and walk about before and after your meal. Definitely a place worth visiting!

We went for high tea and what a beautiful experience. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, we were made to feel welcome with friendly smiles and warmth and fantastic service. We had vegan requirements and at shirt notice the extra mile and attention to detail was phenomenal. The history is so rich and it being in the green house was and felt beautiful with the original stair case still being a feature. Teas are exquisite and the food a delight for the taste buds. Thank you to all.

My friend and I came here for a spa pedicure for her birthday. I was very disappointed with the service we received, especially for the price you pay. My therapist bizarrely painted my toe nails first before the massage part and took forever doing this. Eventually she was done painting and then the massage portion involved one or two swipes of cream across my heel. The last 10 minutes of my treatment my therapist was very obviously tidying up and scrubbing her equipment. Very unprofessional in my opinion. Then she told me my treatment was done, leaving me to lie there and wait another 10min for my friend's treatment to be done. Usually when you have treatments together they are timed to finish together. Overall, would not recommend this spa to anyone.

Attended a work related function and my experience was one of wonder - for the beautiful gardens and the peaceful atmosphere it created, felt like being on a (very short) holiday; and one of being spoiled - with excellent dine and wine, attention to service and warm smiles all around. A welcoming venue, surrounded by nature - left feeling refreshed and yearning for a longer stay.

Impeccable high tea experience with just the right balance of care and privacy!! Gorgeous surroundings transport you while you nibble on all the well thought out tea treats. Soak up all of nature's healing energy with a stroll through their beautiful gardens too.

The high tea was exceptional, my food allergies were taking into account and the selection of tea was amazing. The staff were very attentive and knowlegable, explained everything well and was super friendly. loved this beautifull space. Take a walk through the gardens and enjoy the incredible space for as long as you can. Well done.

This is such a beautiful venue and the food is just lovely. The staff are very welcoming. I am just not keen at all on the asking of a deposit when one books. People are usually very good about cancelling 24 hrs beforehand if necessary. But otherwise the experience is wonderful.

We had booked high tea for my Aunt's birthday, and it was lovely. On top of making her feel very special, the entire tea experience was superb. Our server, Soloman, was friendly, fun, and had an eye for detail. At the end of our booking, he even walked us to our cars with umbrellas. The food was outstanding, and they ensured all of our dietary requirements were met. We were blown away by their gluten-free options and how they mimicked the rest of our dishes, making that person feel included. Overall I highly recommend visiting for the tea!

The stars are really fir the location and ambiance. I went for a spa day and massage. Beautifully appointed rooms, really poor massage. The masseuse had limited knowledge of anatomy. The feeling I git was, someone told her the point was to inflict as much pain as possible, and only on one side of the body. Not great

Lovely selection for afternoon tea at a great price. Service was a bit slow (not sure if this is because you have to pay upfront when you book). The seating has now moved to the Greenhouse, which while having lovely views, isn't the same as the lounge area, which I missed. Perhaps give customers the choice?

We went for high tea , unfortunately they had moved it into the small conservatory which was not what my folks had experienced before. The food was nice but not spectacular. Flavors need to be punch a note up. While the high tea was delightful the service was not that great, think our server was having a bad day. Had to keep looking for her and she was heard swearing loudly to her colleagues

A high tea with my two best people in the world, my mum and best friend from Durban! Absolutely decadent experience, service was outstanding, the food was delicious and the gardens are beautiful. We spent some time at the property and enjoyed a few glasses of champers! We then walked around and were so happy to see that the property looked beautiful. This is a place I will always meet at! Thank you so much for having us!
