Centrally located in Long Street with a great atmosphere, good food, and an amazing staff. I was served by Ben and he told me about open rooftop movie Thursdays that I will definitely be going back for!

We hired out the rooftop deck and 5 trailers for a Bachelorette. We couldnโ€™t have asked for a better venue. It was such a fun place to have it, great location, the food was good, and the staff were absolutely incredible! Evans and his team blew it out the water. Thanks so much for such a great time and for making it a night we wonโ€™t ever forget!

Considering staying here? DO IT!! We stayed in the airstream trailers, which were AWESOME! Such a unique experience. The trailer is very comfortable and has everything you need. The manager Evans was brilliant, as were all the staff. Friendly, helpful, and just very good at what they do. Brekky was good, too. Highly recommend!

We stayed in a 'Standard' room, room 214, for two nights which cost 122 GBP in total. The room had no access to daylight. There was a window but it opened on to an internal area that was not open to daylight. In all other ways the stay was excellent. Parking is available nearby at 100 rand a night. When checking out someone from the hotel has to come get the car with you.

They lost our booking at first, thought it was cancelled while it showed as confirmed for us. Front desk was helpful and we managed to get a room after some arrangements. Cool places and clean. Room service is great. We had grand daddy suite which is spacious.

What a shame to be served by Presley at their roof top bar. Some feedback to owners/ management that they have a staff that is arrogant, prefers the sound of his own voice and isnโ€™t open to feedback or input from clients. He over promises and under delivers, speaking over clients when they bring up concerns and undermines feed back. Would definitely not recommend especially any friends visiting Cape Town that unfortunately was part of the experience that day. Not a great way to represent a restuarant and a very low even mediocre standard of service. Would have preferred to spend our money somewhere else.

This hotel is truly outstanding. The rooms are not only comfortable but also tastefully decorated. The staff and management are exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the breakfast meets a correct standard. However, there is one caveat to be aware of: avoid booking a room that faces the street. Across the street, there is a bar that plays loud music well into the night. Initially, this caused us sleepless nights, but the management promptly relocated us to a room at the rear, resolving the issue. Their swift action and commitment to guest satisfaction earned them a well-deserved five-star rating.

Enjoyed my stay there over the weekend. Love how the design of this boutique hotel with a very interesting name ๐Ÿ˜† Their staff are friendly. Breakfast is good as you can choose from their menu (same as the room service menu). I stayed in 1 of the hotel rooms but I look forward to stay in 1 of their themed airstreams the next time Iโ€™m back in town. - Do note that their wonderful antique looking lift only goes up to the third floor and to go the airstream and the rooftop bar, youโ€™ll need to take the stairs up.

I usually donโ€™t write reviews, but I had to make an exception, my boyfriend and I stayed in a rooftop trailer, we had a blast! The roof top bar is amazing, the bar man was a very kind man, his service was incredible and overall just a fun guy, the staff is very helpful but in a way where they give you your space, but are there to assist you if you need anything, had a really special time on the roof, the trailers are really unique, definitely missing it and will be back!

We had a magnificent stay at the Grand Daddy Hotel in one of their airstreams on the rooftop. We were even upgraded. We just had problems with our car - 4x4 that we needed 2.10m clearance, but no under roof parking in the city allowed for that, and we had to make alternative arrangements. Car parking has to be made seperate with the hotel, so do phone in after making your booking. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The airstream was very well decorated and comfortable. Loved the outdoor spaces of them all. Loved the rooftop bar. Breakfast at the restaurant on the ground floor was included, and food and coffee were magnificent!! Loved our stay!

Popped into the rooftop bar for a couple of drinks - Hotel has a really cool mix of old cape building mixed with modern touch. The roof top bar is great though if i was staying there in one of the caravans, i'd be concerned about noise (not sure what time the bar closes). The drinks were awesome and the staff was super friendly. Definitely check it out if you get the chance.

We had booked to the airstream trailers on top for a unique stay. However we did not realize they had different size trailers and the one we ended up with was tiny. Just a bed, the bathroom is outside. We ended up switching to an inside suite which was gorgeous. Just be aware and ask for a bigger one with inside bathroom. Some batheooms you had to come outside your camper and can be seen by anyone outside on the patio. The biggest issue however is the noise from the nearby Bars. If you want night life and music pumping every night till 3am this is your place. If you want to actually sleep I would not at all recommend the hotel. It was so loud we slept with our headphones on playing soft music to try and drown out the Bar music. The people were amazing and very helpful during our stay and the breakfast was lovely at the restaurant in the hotel.

Staff is absolutely amazing!!!! Rooms a bit small but comfortable and clean. Restaurant and rooftop bar staff amazing!! Ben, Luvuyo, Evans, Thapelo are the very best! Quality of food is not consistent unfortunately and needs attention.

Excellent value and good service. The rooms were nice however they don't have keycard entry which is a bit old school. Skybar is good for a drink but nothing to write home about. Biggest issue for us was location which felt much more dangerous than expected. We went out for a meal on our second night and walked two blocks in the direction away from Gardens and the area began to feel very unsafe. I probably would not stay here again based on the location. Better to stay further up Long Street in the direction of Gardens which felt progressively less unsafe the further you travel that way.

I had the pleasure of staying here in October 2022 for work and this was by far one of the best places I have stayed!!! Everyone on staff was incredible and welcoming, I was here for 2 weeks and by the middle of the first week the restaurant staff knew my preferred breakfast order ! Talk about service! My room was always clean and refreshed for me. If you are coming to Cape Town look no further than the Grand Daddy!

Weโ€™ve been in The Grand Daddy two times, and it always delivers! The people are really nice, the rooms are always clean and it is in the center of everything. Waterfront is close, all the clubs are nearby. They even have their restaurant and the rooftop bar!

I would like to further extend my gratitude to the employees at the Grand Daddy Boutique Hotel for finding and keeping my phone which I had lost a business event hosted atop. I left venue without my phone but I was delighted to hear staff had picked up several phones and one of them was mine. Thank you to Heloise, one of the workers who was kind enough to assist me!

Very friendly and helpful staff. I liked the decor of the hotel, especially the Grand Daddy Suite, which is a welcome break from the cookie cutter large hotel chains that Iโ€™m used to. The breakfast buffet only got put out at 08:30, which is when some people were already leaving the restaurant, but there were fortunately ala carte options included in the room price, which was neither bad nor amazing. The rooftop bar is also lively and fun. WiFi reception in my suite was intermittent so ended up using my own mobile data hotspot. Iโ€™ll probably return to the hotel though, itโ€™s a cool spot.

Quaint and interesting experience. Trailer was wonderful, spacious and comfortable. A little noisy at night, not sure if it was guests or outside but it was lovely evening. Old and unique. Love the Decor and staff were excellent and friendly.

We booked the Daddy Cool Bar venue and from the moment we made an enquiry till after the event, the service was professional. Evans, was responsive in communicating and answering questions. He made sure everything went smoothly. The Manager and General Manager were available and offered their services if it was needed. Evans was reliable and professional and efficient.

We had a stay in the airstream trailer which is not too big but well equipped. They only had a small parking space which was fulled when weโ€™re there, so we had to park in another parking lot thatโ€™s recommended by the staff. They said it R100 to park a night, and we paid R100 at the hotel when we checked out, but the parking lot still charged us R110. The hotel did refund the R100 tho.

The hotel is very clean, the room was big and most of all the Staff is so lovely going above and beyond for you. For any request/issue the managers are super attentive and will take care ๐Ÿ™ Also really enjoyed the rooftop bar, hope to be back soon.๐Ÿ˜Ž

Attended an outsourced Comedy show which was poorly organized and the staff of the Grand Daddy had no clue what was up, the guy at reception just kept saying its canceled and he doesnt kow anything else about refunds or organizer info. If you're letting out your venue, it's your venue, know what's happening guys. The next day i heard it's back on but 24 hrs later. Long street is looking dodgier by the second. Street parking.

Something different. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. It seems to be very well managed and run. Excellent service at the rooftop bar.

Let me start by saying that we slept exceptionally well. The room was clean and the bed was cozy. The antique elevator is definitely an experience. Overall though, the rest of the experience was a little underwhelming. The room had two windows, one gave on a very small and dark staircase. The other faced a wall and a gutter. Parking is a complete gamble. There is not enough space to accommodate all guests and groups will be given priority over solo travellers and couples. So you might have to park at the pick n pay parking a few blocks away (plan to check-in before dark). Although the hotel will send you there to park, be aware that this is not covered or discounted so expect to pay R100 for this per night. The free breakfast is a la carte and covers 1 coffee and 1 breakfast item... regardless of the cost which also means that you will be charged for water and that R15 extra bacon if you want this on your R45 flapjacks... which at that stage just felt like another slap. I'm not usually one to write reviews about the little inconveniences but in this instance, there were too many inconsistencies and frustrations for us to enjoy ourselves.

This is such a unique experience! The caravan trailers are on the rooftop (4th floor) of the hotel, and you have a fairly nice view of the city. The rooms are clean, bedding is crisp and fresh, air-conditioning working as it should. The bathroom is a hit small for me, but I am larger and taller than average. This should not be a problem for the average guest. There are also bathrooms outside on the deck, next to the bar area. The staff were super friendly and helpful. They snow a movie on a big screen with a projector, for those in the mood for a relaxed evening on the rooftop. The only thing about the location is that it's quite a distance away from the nicer part of Cape Town (Kloof Street and upwards, Green Point, etc. It is within walking distance, but I am not so sure about safety later at night. All in all, I'll be back with some friends in the future!

We were 6 people wanting to enjoy a relaxing lunch as Tiger's Milk was closed and we wanted to relax before we attended a show at The Wave theatre. Well, Firstly our waiter had an attitude because he was apparently the only waiter on duty. We had to ask him for glasses for our beers, my friend's daughter ordered a coke, and he had a problem with that also. The food was very poor. I had blood sipping from my steak. We were 3 who ordered steak. We got it with only old, refried chips, thats all. No salad, vegetables or an onion ring. My friend ordered a burger, which she asked to be well done. It was received half raw, We didn't trust sending the food back, as we didn't trust that the waiter wont sabotage our meals. My friend waited 40 minutes for a coffee which came cold and without sugar . He asked for sugar, for which we're still waiting. The barman was very nice and even assisted with our drinks. Very disappointed. Will not vist again

We had dinner at the top floor, both the service and the food was very good. Some of the cocktails could use more flavour (like more of the flavouring like sirups, etc) but otherwise cannot complain

Such a Nice Bunch of Staff in a great place to stay. We enjoyed our meals and found Granddaddy most convenient for access to the VFS Schengen visas

Stayed in Bloomin Daisies pod on the roof. We were warm and comfy. It was clean and beautifully equipped. There was a bar and games on the roof. Sadly the bar shuts at 9pm. Bed was comfy, loved the decor and novelty. Breakfast was delicious - best I've had in Cape town with toast, eggs, baked items, yoghurt, granola, fruit. Good tea and coffee and fresh juice. Helpful staff looked after our bags for us after we checked out. Would def recommend.

Friendly staff pointed me to where the art exhibition I was attending could be found ; it was on their rooftop where I noticed one of their cool caravan styled rooms that a were all booked out. The exhibition was a fun way to allow new artists a space to exhibit and sell their work. All round good show. There was a small space that was somewhat protected from the heavy Cape wind, it had small heaters which helped a bit in waiting for that wind to die down.
