Room is spacious with a lovely big bed, comfy sofa and nice bathroom. However, the "sea view" definition is absolutely not true with a full-on view of the back of the Cape Town Cruise Terminal and some container equipment. Technically you can see the sea, bit a " sea view" it ain't! Food in the restaurant, particularly after breakfast was good and the service excellent. Expensive wines, but probably average for Cape Town. Breakfast, on the other hand, is a disaster, with no management, or certainly none that has worked in the industry or who cares even vaguely. There were never clean settings half an hour before the end of breakfast, and none of the people apparently working seemed to care at all.

Very lovely hotel. Breakfast buffet was plentiful. Staff courteous, attentive, and helpful. Concierge service available and very accommodating. The location is here hit or miss in that it's very close to the V& A waterfront but you have to go in a roundabout way to get there. Courtesy shuttle and water taxi available for transport to V&A water park. Beautiful view from my room of tabletop mountain. The rooms are spacious and stunning.

Established brand, awesome room and facilities, however mediocre service. Located near V&A waterfront, however for personal safety, we either took Uber or drove to the water front. Location can be described as awesome, just a mere 10 minutes away from the waterfront. 9/10 Breakfast was same old same old. A rotation of the baked beans and sausages on alternative days beside the usual culprits; scrambled eggs, bacons, potatoes. Other varieties as well to be fair, just a typical American breakfast. 7/10 Parking was seamless, at a fee of 100 ranz per night which was reasonable and affordable. 8/10 The part which irked me was the inconsistent service accorded to us. Sometimes during breakfast, when you requested for certain orders, the attitude from the servers can be absolutely disgusting. On this particular occasion, when I requested from this particular server; Nokoski, she merely looked at me and at the table when I pointed at it. NO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT, no eye contact. When she came with my sunny side ups, she simply placed it on the table and left, without clearing the used plate which was sitting on the table. I thought I was being casted in a silent movie. 2/10 Moments later, I did observe her being friendly and chatty with the gentleman behind my wife. It makes me wonder if DISCRIMINATION has played a part being an Asian in this hotel or generally it’s happening throughout SA. I do realised that other nationalities beside Asians do get a more favorable service. I’m with an international service branding thus to me, this service attitude is blatantly unacceptable. 2/10 To make a return trip to AC Hotel, probably no unless staffs are trained to show respect to all customers.

The AC Hotel has won me over. I loved everything about staying here; the luxury rooms, delicious breakfast spread, safe parking and a view that’s to die for on both sides of the building. The staff’s professionalism was consistent and genuine. There is no doubt I felt at home and well looked after. I wish I could remember every person’s name that served us… Thank YOU!!

One of the better AC hotels that I have stayed in. Check-in was a breeze. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was spotless and efficiently ran. My standard room was spacious and clean. The breakfast buffet had many food options, but the food was always cold. This hotel is located NEAR the V&A waterfront which is great for shopping and grabbing a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants. Unfortunately, walking to the waterfront is not as quick or easy as it seems due to routes being blocked by construction, canals, or gates that are closed and locked at 8pm. Checking out became frustrating when it took three trips to the front desk and a call to Marriott International Customer Service before I was granted a guaranteed 4pm checkout as a Platinum Elite member. Overall, my stay was good, but I would stay at a different hotel due to location and the smell coming from the fish packing factory nearby.

Had a lovely weekend stay! Helped us last minute, made sure we got the best rate. It was our anniversary and on returning after dinner, they left a lovely cake in our room and did rose petals and gowns the following evening! Made us feel really special. Rooms are spacious, clean and neat. Excellent buffer breakfast and helpful staff!

Very poor check in experience at reception… Rooms are brilliant, absolutely spacious, well laid out and very clean. House keeping is exceptional every day so far. (See note below) The breakfast buffet selection is great for this type of hotel, however If you like your food hot , unfortunately you will find breakfast luke warm at best. Stayed here 5 nights and the hot breakfast is consistently luke warm or cold……nothing has changed when I complained. I have resorted to asking them to microwave the food! Never before in a hotel have I had to ask them to microwave food…. It’s walkable to some areas, but because of security fencing, building works and the layout you tend to have to rely on Uber or the complimentary boat and bus transfers. That said you can get to the waterfront along the canal, go under the underpass and then go back, up the steps and either on the bridge main road or along the canal. UPDATE: so today there is a strike on the busses in Cape Town, we did not know until we came back after a day out. We found out because the hotel is short of staff and and our room was not made up. When they did come and clean, there was no towels available , apparently we have to wait for them ? We waited and none arrived so chased again! Eventually arrived an hour and a half later. No notice from the hotel or acknowledgment until we chased up Air con in room was also faulty, asked receptionist to get it looked at, repaired once, faulty again after one night. Generally the staff are helpful, but there are some that just don’t want to be there…. Would I return, definitely not and you should not book this hotel!

We stayed for 5 nights while visiting Cape Town on holiday. The hotel is in a convenient location, very close to V&A Waterfront, in fact within walking distance, but at the moment I don’t think it’s possible to walk because of some construction going on nearby, unless you take an indirect route and then it will take much longer, so we used hotel’s complimentary shuttle bus that takes you to V&A, and Uber too which was very cheap and quick. All staff were very polite, friendly and professional - happy to help with whatever you need to have an enjoyable stay. We stayed in a room overlooking Table Mountain. It was a large and spacious room with a comfy bed, nice and simple decor, clean too. Great walk-in shower - always makes a huge difference when you can enjoy a good shower. Overall, the hotel looked very tidy and well maintained. It may have been refurbished recently, not sure. We had breakfast included and everything we had was of a good quality, just wish they kept the hot plates up to the right temperature so that the hot food is actually hot and not of a room temperature or even cold (e.g. a few times we had scrambled eggs and sausages that were cold). As an option, we also had eggs cooked to order which was great - you can choose an omelette or fried eggs, etc. For us, variety of food available during breakfast was just right - a good balance between continental and cooked (‘English’) breakfast. This hotel is for all - business people, those on vacation and families with kids. We loved our stay and would definitely stay again. Thanks to all at the hotel for a great service provided and for a true care that they show towards their guests.

Nice hotel, but don't trust them with your money. When I checked out of the hotel I asked for a taxi to the airport. The front desk clerk told me she could fix that and put an amount of ZAR 650 on the bill to cover the cost - I paid with my credit card. Unfortunately, she didn't manage to get hold of their usual taxi company so she had to phone another one. She then told me that I needed to pay the taxi in cash and she would refund me the ZAR 650. Apparently, it wasn't that easy to find the cash so her superior at the front desk told me that he would email me a link where I had to sign. After that I would get my ZAR 650 back. Well, nothing has happened and I and haven't received any email - he checked the email address with me before I left. That left a bad impression.

Great hotel and fantastic breakfast included! Worth the stay if you're in Cape Town. It's not that walkable of a location to the V&A waterfront as it's right by the port (views of the shipping containers) and hidden around a big loop but they provide free shuttles and Ubers are available. The rooms were clean and it was a nice Marriott hotel.

Wow wow wow. What an incredible hotel with the most experienced, friendly and caring staff. It was my first time visiting the beautiful city of Cape Town and one can only imagine the stress and anxiety. This was all relieved when I checked in and made my way to the room. The rooms are neat, spacious and very welcoming. Refreshments are available which include a coffee capsule machine. The in-room dining can be paralleled to that of a 5 star restaurant. Yes, it is that good! Thank you to the staff who made my stay so beautiful. Right down to the gentleman at security who treated me with the utmost of respect. I will be seeing you again.

Modern hotel, good facilities. Some of the placement of furniture and plug points not fully functional. Also no support for international travelers to have universal plug points - bring your own. Saving grace is the USB ports. Service is decent overall, although they didn’t change my iron when I put a note on it saying it wasn’t working.

Very smart & modern hotel with beautiful fittings and fixtures. Staff is friendly and helpful. I was very impressed with the Concierge service lady. Very knowledgeable and polite. The hotel also has a library where you can connect to wifi & your laptop to complete urgent work. Stunning views of skyscrapers & glimpse of Table mountain.

This hotel was a great find for me. I've been on several visits to Cape Town and stayed at different hotels. For vacation this hotel was a much better choice for me. It was less expensive per night compared to the Westin where I'd stayed multiple times. It is located right on the waterfront with a free canal cruise right from the hotel. You can cruise the canal for touring with English narration, and/or take this free boat ride as a hope-on-hope-off ride to and from the waterfront area shopping, dining, and sightseeing. In addition this hotel has free shuttle rides to and from the waterfront. Shuttle and Boat schedules are posted. This is helpful for planning your outings and saves you taxi or other transportation costs to and from the waterfront and the hotel. The staff, all of them, Front Desk, Restaurant, lobby lounge, Business Center, etc., were very attentive and helpful. I felt very safe because every time I looked lost or just looking around to find something, some staff always came up to me to ask if they could help. This made me feel safe that they are keeping an eye out. I can't say enough about how helpful the staff was. Thank you AC hotel staff, especially the Front Desk staff that checked me in and made sure that I got some dinner.

Honestly I wish I could give it more than 5 stars. It’s my first time back home after leaving South Africa 3 years ago. All I can say is thank you. From the service to the rooms to the exceptional food in the restaurant. Thank you for making my first night back in South Africa more than I could have ever dreamed of.

First I would like to write the positive things that I experienced in the hotel. The staff is nice and helpful, the rooms are clean and the breakfast was a nice continental breakfast. The hotel also has some nice facilities like like a bar, restaurant, gym and a 24 hour mini market. However there are some basic things that you would normally find in a hotel like Marriot that weren’t there; such we slippers in the room, cotton pads, cotton swabs, a loofah and a bathrobe. Nit finding these things in my room left me disappointed.

Lovely new hotel. Staff all very nice and very friendly. Rooms are modern and really nice. Found it a bit odd that they only gave us 1 pair of slippers, 1 robe, 1 decaf coffee pod and 1 normal coffee pod. Almost seemed that they thought only 1 person was staying there- even though we booked for 2. Would be nice to have a rug under foot when you get in and out of bed- other than that we enjoyed our stay.

It was a wonderful stay at AC Marriott. The room was spacious, fully-equipped. Checkin staff was friendly, our room was ready by 12pm and he allowed us to enjoy the room. The view was not so great, it was facing the container port. Had I known it was walking distance to the V&A waterfront, I would not have driven there. There is also a complimentary shuttle bus to take guests to the Waterfront. Breakfast had a wide selection of items. We totally enjoyed our stay here.

Highly overrated. I've visited hotels of the Marriott group and saying this is artistic collection is a stretch. Free wifi and room size are good, but making you feel welcome, food and drink hugely disappointing. Insists on you adding a credit card for expenses such as drinks, room service and parking while you are staying on a business account. Buffet food is cold and on repeat and Tapas menu does not make your restaurant cutting edge. No other alternatives as location is next to the dock, so you can't get to the waterfront or other hot spots without shuttle. Lots of security is good and beautiful pool deck, but not so cool if there are no attendants or waiters for towels or food/drink orders.

We booked for a breakfast and when we got their the Manger said to sit and wait as it's full of hotel guests, so we ended up calling another hotel to have breakfast as the manager was taking his time to get back to us, even if we made a booking. Very unprofessional, but would've been nice as everyone speaks highly of this hotel and their breakfast buffet. So hope you will be more organized if we do come again.

AC Hotel is the quality you would expect from Marriott. The premises are clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful, the facilities work well and are up to date (the gym, the restaurant, the tech in the rooms). It’s also a walking distance from the V&A Waterfront. Overall a fantastic hotel to stay at!

I stayed here two different times in my week in Cape Town. Both times the rooms were beautiful, staff were warm and accommodating, and the breakfast was excellent. One of the best ACs I have stayed at. The water taxi to take you to the water front was a wonderful amenity.

Truly a wonderful staff here! Bradley, Shirwin, Nonkosi and sooooo many more terrific folks took care of us during our stay— from bar, kitchen, front desk, security, and housekeeping are top notch. Facility is only months new, and would definitely recommend!

Poor dockside site with scrapyard ovrlooked from Hitel front, working 24/7 and work extremely noisy, in fact hideous and unable to sleep. Staff excellent and moved room away from Hotel front. Would put me off staying here again unless guarantees on noise levels from scrapyard!

It's about a 15-25 minute walk to the waterfront, where all the shops are. Just follow the canal and you'll see signs. The neighborhood seems safe, but I still wouldn't recommend walking around at night, just to be safe. The staff is really friendly, and the cleaning staff does a great job. The breakfast in the morning was top-quality. Overall, it was a great experience during my 4-night stay.

Very elegant , clean and looks new. The staff area nice as well, there a store for grab and go, it's not in walkable distance from the waterfront

Great business hotel for the CTICC, but a struggle to walk anywhere else, so you need a car or rely on Ubers. That said, food and service were great, and rooms very modern and spacious.

Amazing stay, looking for a quite spot off the beaten track this is definitely a place to go Only flaw its just a tad too far from VNA Waterfront. About a 20 -30 minute walk. They do offer a complimentary shuttle to make up for it. Staff are amazing and make u feel at home.. Thanks Sam the bar keep for the laughter smiles and sharing abit about the Capetown life.

Great location. Right by the V&A and convention centre. Super close to all the Hotspot in town. They just recently reopened. I would recommend this hotel. Some rooms are paraplegic friendly. Super comfy bed and bed linen. Room has everything you need. Love the little market store at the bottom to grab any quick snack or drink which can be charged to the room. Basement parking available which is an additional charge per day. Service slow in restaurant.
