I
had
the
misfortune
of
being
given
a
small,
4th
floor
room
with
the
tiniest
window,
approximately
30
cm
x
30
cm.
On
top
of
it,
there
was
no
way
of
opening
it.
Now,
I'm
from
Asia,
and
have
seen
my
share
of
small
hotel
rooms
during
my
travels,
but
this
was
by
far
the
most
claustrophobic.
There
was
no
ventilation.
After
sitting
on
the
bed
for
20
min
or
so,
wondering
how
I
was
to
get
through
the
week,
I
started
to
feel
physically
ill.
The
problem
was
that
my
husband
was
there
to
attend
a
conference,
but
I
had
to
live
in
that
room
for
a
week.
I
told
myself:
If
Nelson
Mandela
could
survive
his
cell
in
Robben
Island
for
18
years,
I
should
be
able
to
do
this.
But
after
another
5
min,
I
started
to
hyperventilate.
Finally,
I
checked
out
from
the
hotel.
While
I'm
generally
easy
going,
I
just
couldn't
stay
here.
This
was
the
first
time
I
felt
compelled
to
forgo
a
reservation.
The
front
staff
and
the
restaurant
were
decent
and
I
have
no
complaints
there.
From
what
I
could
see
from
the
outside,
there
are
3
rooms
on
the
4th
and
5th
floors
with
these
tiny
windows.
If
you
have
claustrophobic
tendencies,
try
to
avoid
those
floors.
