4 stare hotel, ancient, strategic location with good views all around. Staff are nice and helpful. Located in a safe area near attractions, restaurants shopping malls. The unique thing about it is that I can hear the sounds of street singers and musicians in the room which left a great feeling as if I am living in amusement park! I was upset that I stayed in a piazza view room but I didn’t know that I would enjoy it very much! Love the place so much and recommended it for friends and family. I would love to book it again!

I’m hesitant to put this review up because this place is such a hidden gem in the middle of the VA. Amazing amazing amazing service and they tended to every need with a smile no matter what it was. This is going to definitely be a repeat visit hote next time. Pro tip. Don’t discount the restaurant, just because it’s in the hotel. They have amazing food and breakfast! Also directly connected is a bar restaurant that is always packed and has live music on some days. There are a dozen amazing restaurants within 20 meters of here.

Beautiful hotel and the quality is worth the price. It is also near the best mall you'll ever visit - V&A Waterfront mall. The service was great and check in was a breeze. I will visit this hotel again and again!!! Amazing experience and very safe!!!!!! 🙂

Victoria and Alfred Hotel exudes luxury and charm. Perfect waterfront location, impeccable service, and tastefully decorated rooms create an indulgent experience. Dining options and attentive staff add to its allure. A superb choice for a memorable stay in Cape Town.

Had a wonderful stay here at The V&A Hotel, rooms were spacious, clean and has everything we needed. Room service was great and the food was presented beautifully. We opted for breakfast in the room and it was super, we loved it. Overall a great room, with awesome views of the harbor and Table Mountain, we enjoyed our stay.

We generally enjoyed our time at the V&A Hotel. The location is unbeatable. The interior of the rooms is a bit dated, but nothing that impacts the stay. Being an older building, lighting and outlets are limited in the rooms. There is currently construction surrounding the building, but the plans for the area around building look very nice once it is complete. If you do not have a harbor facing room, you will be looking at construction only. The views of Table Mountain and ability to walk around the Waterfront make this a very worthwhile stay. We are very thankful to Navron in reception for his repeated help and friendliness throughout our stay!

Stayed here for a few nights recently. The room was spacious enough for 2 people and the bathroom looked brand new! Huge bed that was extremely comfortable and don’t even get us started on the curtains! We were a bit jet lagged and had a late start to our first day because the curtains were amazing and made it feel like it was the middle of the night! The service at the hotel restaurant/ bar was amazing, very friendly staff who remembered us and made sure we were looked after. The coffee shop also was a hit as we didn’t have breakfast included in our stay, we would go for coffee instead and it was just as good! Would love to stay here again, as the location is incredible. Also we had to get COVID tests to fly out of South Africa and the hotel organised a lovely nurse to come to our room and do it for a very reasonable price, and results came back 12 hours later! Only thing we would want to change is the room felt very dark in the evening, the bedroom only had sconces and lamps, no ceiling lights, the bathroom and foyer however had ample lighting.

Beautiful hotel nestled amongst the harbour and surrounded by Post-Dutch buildings. Everything on your doorstep, every single restaurant, shop imaginable with local food market and smaller cultural shops. Two Oceans Aquarium is a stone throw away. Hotel location is central towards smaller towns like Fish Hoek, Simons town which are located right on white sand beach fronts. Rooms are spacious, neatly laid out and clean. Reception, cleaning and porter staff are helpful and friendly.

We spent 1 night for our anniversary. The building is old with modern updates and well it's maintained. Super clean and 5 star service from staff. Cape Town hospitality at it's best. Halaal catering options for breakfast makes it all the more enjoyable.

It was the first place I headed to from the airport and i spent my first few days in Cape Town there. So it really contributed in making me feel confortable and gave me a memorable and pleasant first impression of the Mother City.

Stayed here for 4 nights. Our room was lovely and had sofa and chairs so you could actually spend time in the room without feeling cramped. The location is great, right in the heart of the Waterfront and the views are stunning. Staff friendly and helpful, restaurant for breakfasts and dinner once, also very good.

Excellent location and the rooms were lovely. Breakfast was good with a decent variety. Staff were helpful. We’d have a night cap each evening in the bar and it was very enjoyable. Shout out to Simon the barman and Sam the porter

We booked a mountain/harbour facing room . The room was large, great bathroom but the Juliette balcony over the harbour with unrestricted view of Table Mountain and Signal Hill was the star. Valet parking was fabulous, service was very good as was the food ...we are breakfast there each day and evening dinner once. Relatively expensive but worth it

Ideal if you want to be in the hub of Cape Town. Ideally positioned amongst the shops, resturants and easy walking distance to the many delights in the V & A. Rooms are spacious and comfortable with comfy beds and seating. Well lit rooms and incredibly friendly staff. Sound proofing is good although at times during the day the local buskers can still be hear but it does give you a unique African feel.

We didn't stay in the hotel but we were at the V&A and near the hotel. It was very busy as it usually is at this time of year. I don't like high crowds so it was too much for me. A friend's daughter had her school prom at one of the restaurants which was nice. She unfortunately fell ill but the on the ground ER24 were very helpful and sorted quickly. Thank you.

I had an excellent and very moderately priced breakfast including coffee for R120. The buffet was magnificent but cost double as much. The service was excellent. My only suggestion is tha the tables be easier to move as the shade moves.

Wonderful hotel. Don’t let some of the older review photos of the rooms fool you. The rooms have been renovated and are modern and luxurious. The turn down service was a nice surprise. You can’t beat the location. I only docked a star because we sent our clothes in to be laundered and they were returned folded but not washed. This is not the fault of the hotel because they use a third party laundry service. The 4 star review is because I had to explain the problem four times before it was addressed properly. I did not want anything special - just for the charges to be removed since the service was not performed. I expected to only need to explain twice before it was quietly addressed and I could move on from it. Instead I had to talk about it 3 different times in the lobby. However, I do think this hotel and manager can reflect on this process and find a way to improve.

Located within the larger Victoria and Alfred Waterfront Harbour Complex in Cape Town. Beautiful views from the rooms and terraces on both sides of the building. Staff is friendly and helpful at all times.

This hotel is an absolute stunner. The staff really looks for your well being during your stay and you feel very welcome. The rooms are clean and and overall very silent. The breakfast served is more than plenty with a lot of fantastic and delicious food. The big plus here is the view of table mountain while eating. Really enjoyed the stay.

What a great hotel in which to stay! Overlooking the harbour with amazing views across to Table Mountain, I am so glad we stayed here. The staff were welcoming, attentive and helpful. Breakfast and the Ginja menu tasty and plentiful. Can't wait to go back!

I spent a week at Victoria and Alfred Hotel, everything was superb, from the reception to the room we were staying on with my cousin, being at the hotel gave me a fun experience I can never forget of being in Cape Town. I would be more than happy to visit the hotel again 😊

I spent NYE with my friends at the Waterfront, it was packed, of course, but we did find a restaurant to chill at. THERE were no fireworks 😢 😕, soo disappointing.

We had breakfast for the third time in 5 years this weekend because it was always fabulous. However, this time round the entire experience was diabolical. We failed to attract service at a quay table for over 30 minutes despite requests for the same. So we moved indoors. Service was extremely slow and haphazard. Waiter didn't listen and brought the incorrect drinks order twice. The buffet fell short with missing plates, and various dishes periodically and slow to refresh. Toast when it came was toasted only on one side. Hot breakfast came with under cooked bacon and stale bun. For a top flight restaurant in SA's prime tourist attraction, the experience was dissapointing unbelievable and frustrating.

Beautiful Hotel and Scenery. Met a very special Evangelist and Author Carl Wesley Anderson as he completed the recording of his new book Love Speaks. We were well served and taken care of and the food was delicious, flavourful and well portioned just right to stop and chat in between bites.

We stayed for ten days. Only spoiled by the very poor service at breakfast and dinner by a few of the waiting staff. The remainder were happy, polite and efficient. Such a pity as it reflects badly on the establishment. I have since seen several similar reports so it is not unknown to the hotel management.

The location is perfect. The hotel is lovely. Breakfast is fantastic. The 3rd floor loft rooms are the least expensive and can't open windows. 2nd floor, harbor facing rooms are best. Staff is lovely.

After 3 great nights at the hotel, on our return to the airport- their contractor taxi service tried to rip us off by claiming the hotel hasn’t paid him the R1700 they charged us. This happened when the driver sent a porter in to corner us as we were walking through security. In front of 100s of people, the porter held us up, holding the line up saying our driver was crying outside because we hadn’t paid him. We called the hotel to complain about how this was the worst impression to leave foreigners with as they leave the country. They assured me they would handle this email us back a report on what actually happened. Still nothing. After spending $1000s at this hotel, my husband refuses to ever go back. They should be better about choosing their contractors and putting foreigners in cabs to be ripped off, embarrassed and harassed while they try to leave the country.

Tasteful rooms and excellent service. Not cheap by any stretch of the imagination, but competitively priced with the exchange rate. Very good restaurant in house.

Great location. The rooms facing Table Mountain, really do have stunning views. The hotel staff are just lovely, and very helpful. Our first room was quite shabby, and had a bit of a 3-star vibe to it. Luckily, we were moved to another, much better room on the second day of our stay, which was up to standard and less exposed to noise from the stairwell. Breakfast (buffet and a la carte) in the hotel restaurant (Ginja) was great in terms of variety, flavours and service. On the first day of our stay, we ate lunch/supper (a la carte) at the hotel restaurant, and we found the food to be very flat-tasting, flavourless, and over-priced.

Good hotel centrally located in Waterfront which is a development with restaurants and bars and boat tours and harbor. Hotel is in the heart of Waterfront and close to everything. The rooms are nice with a great view of the bay front. I found the hotel a little run down, especially the bathroom which are over due for a remodel.
