Excellent hostel my friend and I stayed here before going off on the garden route. Got my washing done over night which was so helpful. We stayed in a private room, the beds were super comfy. The bar upstairs is great fun as well.

It was late, I came there at 17.10 and asked for a room.Very unhealthy language hard to understand under the influence of anything said that it is impossible to check in 10 minutes after the end of work, So I don't see that this is a recommended address. It is a joke for people who accept everything as normal

Stayed here in a private room for 2.5 weeks. Kept coming back to visit even after I left. Friendly staff & a cool atmosphere! Close to kloof street and gardens.

I stayed at Ashanti for one or two nights(not 100% sure) I had a great time! Awesome pool & bar on site. They also have a communal kitchen (which I did not use) that can be handy when traveling on a strict budget. Breakfast is available for R60 which isn't bad. Kyle is a superstar at reception. All in all it was a good experience and I will stay there again

First class place. Legendary in the South African backpacker world and still going strong. Love it 👌👍👏👏👏

Great and nice backpackers in Capetown with good bar and breakfast options. Friendly and helpful staff. Good food places at Kloof Street in walking distance.

Probably the best hostel I have stayed in and one of the better locations during my trip to South Africa. All the facilities are kept very clean and the rooms have everything you need.

Really enjoyed Dave the barman and Nezze's company. They were great hosts. It's a pity about the guy with a Russian jacket, discussing European politics in Africa. Europeans go to Africa to get away from those politics!! My wife and I spent lots of times at Ashanti, many good memories. Will always go back.❤️🇿🇦

We stayed here with a group of 13 and had a very nice stay. Friendly welcome with good information and service. The bar and bartender were a nice addition to the very spacious place. The location tops it off near supermarket and bars/restaurants. We'll come back!

A local bnb. The room is small but comfy. I found the bed too small for me to fit on and im only 1.85m. The lights did not extinguish completely so i slept in light most of the night. The roof is zinc and rats were running across it a few times during the night. The bathroom is ridiculously small and cramped. No plugs are available next to the bed for charging. This will only be a one night one time place.

If you want to stay in a home away from home where community lives and a spirit of kindness then look no further. I stated in the double bed room nice and spacious with basin and bathroom and shower was communal. The place has aged considering I stayed here in 2016 yet it still clean and managed well and it's rooms don't exactly look like the picture yet all smooth. The bathrooms were excellent that's always a first priority. Naz was my shining star always ready to help and of service especially on weekends when there is no reception. All the staff were kind friendly and helpful, place was kept clean. I was gonna give this place a 5 star yet I found it interesting that one morning I had misplaced my bank card. I wanted a R50 breakfast and told the gentleman who makes breakfast that I would pay when I comeback from the ATM, he didn't even have other options and asked if I was staying an extra night (which I wasn't at that moment (ended up staying an extra night) he's case was because of so many other guests he needs immediate payment because he has huge bills of unpaid breakfasts. I found this disappointing and understandable. Otherwise wise choice situated within walking distance of everything. Made new family and friends Always a great choice.

Never stayed here but during COVID I travelled to CT and went to five hostels to try to find friends. This is the only place where staff helped and introduced me to folks. So for that alone this place is the best. Had many people there that moved from other lesser spots like once innCT

Nice comforting place, bar at the 2nd floor is good for a pool shot with music and also a place where you can sit alone and focus in the morning! Pool area clean and clear, kitchen was very clean and the bathrooms also in good condition, you can find checkers nearby and also enjoy the view of the table mountain ⛰

Cellphone was stolen by my roommate. Staff could care less as they lounged by the pool and partied with guests. Terrible experience/service and professionalism.

👍👍 One of the best restaurant experiences I have ever had. This place is a true hidden gem. Just love the vibe of the place. There is seating inside for a real farm house feel and lots of seating outside with a large bar. The food is delicious and the portions are very big. And the cherry on top is...

👍👍 I attended a function here so am unable to review the rooms, however everything else I experienced - namely, the service and location, was incredible. I highly recommend them as a function venue!
