Southern Sun The Cullian Hotel is the best place to stay while in Cape Town. It's location is so good you don't need a taxi to get to the V&A Waterfront, The Aquarium, and lots of other places. It gives you the ability to have a taste of Cape Town depending on the direction you choose to walk.

The Cullinan is a classy hotel that offers an exceptional experience. The staff are incredibly helpful and ensure that you are treated with the highest esteem. The food and drinks offered at the hotel bar and restaurant were surprisingly delicious and substantial. Loved the breakfast buffet on offer. Enjoyed a custom omelette made by the chef on duty.

We had a wonderful stay at The Cullinan and the staff is the best asset the hotel has. Everyone is very friendly and always willing to assist. Special shout out to Lungile who was serving during breakfast. He was very assisting in all aspects, took particular attention to our needs, inter-acted with us in the best possible way and was always ready to help. Travelling to Cape Town? I'd really recommend this hotel.

I made a booking more than a month ago for my daughters 21st birthday with Mrs Margaret Le roux. What a beautiful soul from the time that I checked in on Saturday morning the surprise for my daughter in the room. It was a Mom and daughter weekend. The excellent customer service is amazing they went beyond my expectations and my daughter was so happy. The lady who cleaned our room her name starts with a U thank you.The spa treatment was amazing at Mangwanani Spa.The shuttle driver who drove us to the Waterfront thank you. Watching the Rugby Finals at the Stella Cafe Bar was super amazing. The buffet breakfast was amazing. Thank you for making memories that my daughter and I would forever treasure.

Very good location within walking distance of waterfront, and a free shuttle operates. Rooms comfortable, breakfast good, and nice little extras like complementary suntan lotion, sweeties at tea time, and cool drinks available throughout day. Bar serves tasty food at reasonable prices, can recommend lamb chops. Our only criticism was the evening buffet which was included for one night. We thought it was of a very poor standard compared to other hotels we stopped at. There was only chicken and hake as the meat/ fish choice and no cheeses. My husband stayed at the hotel for 2 nights last year, and he said the buffet was just as poor then. Not good for a 5 star hotel, and I certainly wouldn't have paid for it. Other than this, a good hotel with plenty of security.

Great service, very friendly staff. Clean rooms Excellent breakfast ( They cook in separate pans for Muslim guests who require halaal) They had a variety of options at breakfast. The location is great as it is very close to the V&A. The only thing I would say should be looked at is the parking charge for guests. It’s overpriced and many hotels actually give free parking for guests.

Most friendliest staff. Concierge service was amazing even with my last minute chauffeur changes. Was on a business trip and had some venue changes, they were on the ball to assist Could not ask for anything more. Ended up having supper and drinks on site. Service was excellent.

Very nice rooms. Excellent service from staff. Very good breakfast buffet, catering to vegetarians as well. Definitely one of the better hotel rooms I've stayed in. Would definitely visit again if the opportunity arises and circumstances allow.

Great stay overall although the service was quite slow. Waited for ages for room service and at Stella's restaurant. Good views and good rooms although I do think they need to keep up with renovations/refurbishing as it is starting to look worn out but this is brilliant view and location is prime.

Beautiful hotel with really comfortable beds. Gorgeous poolside where they provide sunscreen, interesting reads and heaters for the cool evenings. Amazing breakfast which is more like a brunch. Beautifully decorated, felt like something from a movie. To top it all off, a central location with a free shuttle to the waterfront. Would definitely be back.

Shocking service and overall management. I extended my stay and paid for an extra day, and was assured all in order. Then I was challenged 4 times for not checking out, the last time by knocking on my door at 10pm in the evening. Management were requested after the last two incidents but were nowhere to be found. A sad reflection on that management team and their systems

A lovely hotel in a πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈ distance from Cape Town International Convention Center. The only inconvenience was their booking system. We had to often check with the reception if our rooms were still secure for the following day. Other than that, I 😍 their hotel and a free hourly shuttle to V&A Water Front.

By far, the worst experience I have had. Besides the hotel being dated in most areas, including the rooms, the hotel still has a smoking floor. The lady at reception gave me a room on the 7th floor without telling me it’s the smoking floor. I didn’t ask for a smoking room. For someone who recently gave up smoking, my first impression was that someone took a chance in the room, and the floor lobby was only the issue. Inside the room seemed fine. But after one night’s sleep, I woke up drenched in smoke including all my clothes as the smell moves through the aircons. I went to the reception the next morning, and without any apology, I was given another room. The other room continued to have the smell even though it’s on another floor. Can’t understand how regulation will allow a smoking room in a hotel. Won’t go there again.

However the manager is he is pathetic and a racist Whatever you do to others it will come back to you. Fyi. After the boks tour of the trophy my phone got stolen. I went into the hotel and asked if i can phone my wife to let her know what happened. Then this manager said to me he cant help me and said if im not going he will ask security to take me away and then he chase me away like a dog.

Very nice hotel, clean, smart and beautiful. Staff very friendly, helpful and always willing to assist. Food is also very nice and a huge variety for breakfast. Lobby is really inviting and nice arrival water and small treats in the middle, that is a lovely gesture. Only complaint or awareness that needs to be addressed is when you go for a massage in the spa. Too much noise, staff are not quite and they allow partners that are not having the massage to go upstairs and they sit on their phones and talk and that disturbs the actual spa customers. So an idea would be not to allow anyone upstairs who is not having a treatment. Only treatment customers should be allowed upstairs and a Silent Phone policy should be implemented. Other wise the massage was really good and so were all the ladies that worked there were nice and friendly.

I checked in with a group - shambles! But the rest of the service is very pleasant and efficient. Food is average at best. Rooms are superficially fancy but dated and lots of little broken things. And I can't understand how they can allow smoking in the rooms. My whole floor and room absolutely stank of stale smoke despite the many "air purifiers" along corridors and in the room. Fortunately I only had to spend the minimal amount of time in it. Won't go back. Southern Sun, surely you can do better than that!

Disappointed at the level of cleanliness at this place! I found my socks in the bed the night after the bed had been made up. Toilet was not really cleaned properly every day and neither was the coffee station. Someone was kind enough to blend my protein shake one morning and the next morning I was told the that the blender was broken. The snacks at the entrance was probably the only nice thing about my stay, and maybe the guest assistance helping me source a notepad for my meetings. But that was about it.

Only 3 days after my arrival, my headphones were stolen in my room (worth 250€). I went to report it several times at the reception desk and I'm still waiting for the "manager" to come back to me. On a stay of 1 month, I am very disappointed with the lack of consideration towards the customer. Despite this, the hotel has good services.

Location - great. Price - great. Breakfast- fine. Dinner - not great. The chefs can definitely do better with dinner - overcooked lamb stews, overcooked pasta and just tasteless. The chicken also was not the best.

One of the best places to stay in Cape Town! Spacious accommodation, friendly staff, awesome pool and heavenly spa! Frequent shuttles to V&A make life easy… I love love this place!

The hotel is beautiful and all staff are friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and spacious for a standard room. The buffet breakfast was one of the best I’ve experienced, especially for a frequent business traveller.

Had an amazing stay here. Wonderful attentive staff in all departments.. Cleaners, front desk, door men and the bar.. Excellent service and very nice people. My room was so nice too, slept like a baby every night, and excellent views from floor 15. Thank you!

It is a great place to have a vacation lovely pool area too. Best of all it is wheelchair friendly for a physical impaired person like myself. It was lovely to spend time with my fiancee and her work colleagues.

The girls did a day at their Spa....and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Its a must!!! The therapist 's were " on-the-money", it was relaxing, enjoyable and highly recommendable. Booking is essential, and lunch/ drinks can be taken around the pool while taking in the relaxing environment. I highly recommend the Head, Shoulders and Feet massage ( for those that don't want to undress completely) and prefer the "sitting" option as apposed to lying on your tummy. It worth the treat, and makes a fanatic gift for a loved one or friend.

I attended a 2 day event at this establishment recently. Found the hotel as beautiful and well kept as always. Lunch buffet in the Peach Tree restaurant however, left much to be desired. Compared to the many times eating there in the past, the quality of the food was not satisfactory as well as the options. Dietary requirements such as vegetarians and halal wasn't adequately catered for which resulted in a poor dining experience. We found the staff to be unknowledgeable, therefore lacking in initiative to present acceptable options. This situation leads to a lack of client centric service delivery.

The beautiful piano/jazz evenings r great to enjoy from the lobby area, restaurant is normally packed and often noisy so the lobby is the next best thing. Great pricing on food. Rooms are clean, and the view of the city at night and Sky hotel next door is cute.

Had an unexpected 2 night stopover in Cape Town due to BA flights grounded. Lovely hotel in a great location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Free shuttle service to waterfront. Buffet breakfast lovely. Would recommend..

The place used to have an amazing ambience and service. The level of service has somehow gone down, one may blame it on the pandemic, staff make you feel as if they are doing you a favour. There was Hilda however in the restaurant who seemed to understand the service economy. Rooms are well kept ......

A super conference facility, with helpful and friendly staff. Break snacks were great. Buffet lunch was okay, filling, but limited. Desserts were very good and wide variety. Conference attendees also don't pay for parking. Would definitely use them again. Very impressed.
