This is not the service and hospitality I experienced in the past. I'm literally waiting for the cleaning staff to clean and prepare my room on a 4pm. This is completely unacceptable.

Very homely feel. Pinelands is located in the Southern burbs and very close to Cape Town International Airport. The hotel is very clean and well-kept! You are likely to find everything in order. Pinelands is over 20 minutes to V&A Waterfront, and other busy places on the Sea Point, and other main beaches in the beachfront. Check it out for safe and secure lodging:)

Decent hotel and very fairly priced, especially with the current dollar exchange rate. Service was very friendly and rooms are fine. No service was offered by porters or lifts, so be willing to carry. Breakfast was good and cleaning services on par with franchise. The fitness centre (gym) was way below standard. Great location.

The reason for my high ratings are the levels of cleanliness experienced through the establishment; bathroom and room was clean and practical and user friendly. The restaurant and reception desk has friendly and helpful staff. There is a concierge service available as well. The location is 15 minutes from Cape Town central, meaning that I was not in middle of the busy city centre. Recommended for families and business travel.

Excellent location and good rooms but there was no water when we arrived due to a burst pipe. It was fixed quickly.

Very nice hotel, room was clean and comfortable, the bathroom was spotless. Only problem we had was very noisy neighbours who partied and carried on making a noise the whole night. We did complain to reception in the morning.

I gotta say that this City Lodge is just about my favourite, the rooms are super neat, clean, and well-maintained, The service is great and the fact that there's a Cattle Baron adjacent is just the proverbial cherry on the top. Food is also fresh and tasty.

Amazing rooms! Excellent restaurant. Nice to have another well-known restaurant opposite your hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful. The system of getting in and out of the gate needs some improvement. Definitely recommend it and its very central to everything in Cape Town.

A stones throw from the airport; Rooms are basic and comfortable - hair drier is supplied but there's no telephone in the rooms - QR code must be scanned to contact reception.. it's easier to walk there to reception to ask in person

At the Pinelands City Lodge, some rooms have views of the garden and golf course beyond, and some rooms have views of the mountain. Unless you are unlucky to be placed in the rooms that look onto roof tiles a mere 1 metre away from the window. More than that, our room key documentation had us booked into a room with mountain views yet this room number was changed by hand on the key slip on our arrival. I brought up the issue with two different reception staff and was just brushed off each time. It is my belief that rooms with a view of the roof should have a different rate. They are certainly not the same value as the rooms with a view as shown on the hotel website - which a person is led to believe are being booked. Yet never was I offered a reason as to the change of room allocation, nor a solution to my disappointment.

I recently spent two nights at City Lodge and I must say I was incredibly impressed with the entire establishment. The staff are very friendly, professional and willing to help you at any time. Everything is up to standard, everything works, I had no problems whatsoever with shower, tv, hair dryer, etc. Lastly what pleased me the most is how clean the place is. From the moment you step in, from the front door up until the toilets in your room you're staying in. Spotless. Bravo to the cleaning staff and thank you so much for maintaining that standard. I enjoyed my stay and I'd recommend this place to anyone. For the price you're paying I'd say it's honestly worth it.

Breakfast didn't cater for a vegetarian too much on the hot side, otherwise them being very busy, was a very enjoyable stay

This is my 3rd time staying at Pinelands City Lodge and over the 10 years of travelling back and forth to the hotel. The staff has been very consistent in their friendliness and eagerness to assist. They score top marks from me and I feel like family when I am there. In terms of progress for the chain over the last 10 years and coming from a person who has travelled many other countries who has placed this chain into similar hotels based on rates there are a few things I would like to highlight as possible improvements; 1) A bottle of still water as a complimentary gift in your hotel room on check-in day would be a nice touch. 2) Staying with a 5 year old child the TVs should have a few child friendly channels 3) The TVs by now should be identified for migration to smart TVs 4) Their wasn't a phone in our room which is no problem however on check-in options to contact reception from your room should be given. 5) It's great that you have an app however it should be made interactive to allow the guest to request information and services 6) We stayed in August on the 2nd Floor. The room got very cold at night there should be thoughts about how to heat the room without having to have the aircon blowing warm air throughout the night. Wall heaters could be an option. 7) There are no wall plugs at the bedside tables. If you want to charge your phone you have to leave it on the desk away from you and get up if you need it during the night. This is not great. 8) The light on the left bedside table didnt work. Might be a good idea for housekeeping to check all works before expecting guests 9) Wifi is not stable and was a challenge if you are working remotely. For a hotel this should be a priority to have a service absolutely stable for kids to watch youtube and for those working remotely being able to access cloud managed services without being kicked all the time. It should be stable no matter the room that you are staying in. 10) There are no shower / bath gel , soap bars are for washing hair and body which was a bit difficult to adjust to if you are a traveller with a child. Might be good to have a think about making this more user friendly for all 11) There should be a child friendly space , like a play area or room for kids or have some freebies to allow them to be entertained. 12) Last bit not least - a minibar would be ideal in a room for such a warm country. It adds to a more comfortable stay especially when you have a child. Overall this is a great hotel. The location is perfect close to Howard Centre and some nice hotels around the BP Garage area. I also stayed at the one at the V&A waterfront which is a great location too but you have to be careful with your journeys to and from the hotel to avoid peak traffic situations.

I spent three nights at City Lodge. Checking in was fast, courteous and hassle-free. The room was quite clean and quiet. The bedding was quite clean and smelt fresh. The aircon in the room was welcome as the weather was quite cold and l needed to work at night before sleeping. The restaurant provided nice light meals. The staff at the restaurant was very good and their service quite effecient. The food itself was scrumptious. I had their bunless burger which is to die for.
