Dog friendly but dogs must be on a leash

Beautiful white sands, blue green sea and fabulous bay. A little gem to walk, swim or just lounge in the open air. Highly recommend spending time enjoying a little bit of Cape paradise.

The best beach I have ever been to. Perhaps I am biased, but when mountains and the beach meet at the sea, magic happens. Wonderfully majestic. I don't even want to write this review because I don't want anyone to find out! That's how good it is.

……Our children visiting from Europe wanted to visit a beach on Boxing Day and although we knew most beaches will be full and our favourite beach is Strand we still obliged and packed the car with the necessary, beach-umbrella, chairs and through-about. When we arrived at Strand there was a traffic jam just trying to get to the beach-front so this was fruitless. So we decided to take the a drive on one of the worlds most scenic and spectacular marine drives around Gordons Bay to Betty’s Bay and about kilometres we saw the sign Pringle Bay so we turned in and just drove through and just as we were ready to turn around we happened on this gem of a find. There was a cut out with parking for about fifteen cars and there a space or two free so we turned in parked and was true-lii blown away with this. The Overstand Pringle Bay beach it looked more like a private beach. Nice stone-stepping pathway leading to the beach. There is a very well maintained Toilet Facility, very clean and even had toilet-paper available. One can immediate-lii come to the conclusion that the people around here real-lii care for the environment as one saw on the pathway there is a fish-line deposit point where anglers could trow away the old spent fishing gut and not leave it laying around on the beach. Th beach was empty with just a family enjoying the sunshine, an anglers or two with one kayaker. At least now we know where to find a quiet spot to relax away from the maddening crowds …….NB! On the way here is a neat niff-tii shopping centre where almost anything can be purchased!…..

Beautiful pristine beach. No better place if the wind is not too strong. - Water temperature can be cold if there has been strong SE winds. - If the waves are big swim with caution, there are strong rip currents in middle of the beach. - great snorkelling on calmer days near rocks on either end. - dogs to kept on leash to preserve wildlife. - stay off the dunes that are in rehab.

What a nice quiet beech where you can walk forever.... Our dogs enjoyed the long walks, and in the mornings, when it was quiet, we could even take off their leeches to let them run and run and run. We will be back soon

Lovely beach, pristine white sand, cold water (brrrr), lots of sand anemones and space, not busy. Surrounded by mountains making it very picturesque. Depending which parking area you use, its a bit of a walk through some dunes...pay attention to the route, we couldn't find our car afterwards. 😉

A bit under developed but a lovely wide open space that brings you closer to nature. You can choose to walk over the dunes or scramble over rocks to get close to the ocean and the view is quite spectacular in this coastal town. Many fisherman and locals are friendly and there are toilets available. It's not wheelchair frienly

In a well situated conservation area, this beach offers a dog friendly beach which is stunning. Yes it’s the Cape so wind can be an issue, but it doesn’t change it’s beautiful views and white sand. There are bathrooms at the car park, but no shops on the beach itself. During busy times there are life guards.

Beautiful! Fishing and swimming is great. Tanning is also wonderful as the hills protect you from the wind.

Beautiful place we must remember two ingredients that makes a person live. It's seeing green and coming home and leaving in peace. May the city look at nature's way as the best physiotherapy. ...

A short walk from the car park on lovely soft white sand There are lifesavers on duty and wide beach for a nice walk Lots of kelp pieces on the beach which seems to be common along this coastline Amazing views of the mountains and a small lagoon area towards the main road side

It is worth a visit. Though parked a distance from beach, the vistas across the bay is breathtaking. The public toilets at parking area were serviced and clean.

The entrance is tucked in between the house's of Pringle bay. There is a bit of a walk to the beach and depending which route you take a few sand dunes to climb up but the beach is worth the trek, very isolated. Again a common theme around the western cape is beach goer's not picking up the feaces of their dogs, this didn't take away too much from the experience of the beach but as dogs are allowed on the beach be careful when walking.

Very busy and seldomly clean. Great sunsets.

Pringle Bay is by far the best getaway location I can think of. It's on route to Betty's Bay and has much easier beach access. The community is quiet and serene and the beach is immaculate. If you aren't a big fan of the sea, there is also a calm river that connects to the ocean that houses a diverse little ecosystem. It is 100% the best place to visit and will forever be my favourite beach to visit. The drive is long and scenic so you'd best buckle up, get your road trip playlist set and get ready for the best experience of your life!

The beach is cold, windy and the weather is unpredictable. The water is ice cold. The lagoon is stained dark from the bordering bushveld. The sand dunes are large and off limits. Watch out for the Baboons, they may break into your vehicle. Restrooms are available at parking or about 300 meters from where you will be sitting on the beach, at least it feels like that with all the soft sand.

One of Cape Town's gems, surrounded by mountains, this scenic destination is the perfect break-away to have a family picnic at the beach. Escape the crowd and enjoy a peaceful nature experience on an unspoilt beach. Weekends can also be booked online with a variety of accommodation options, walking distance from the beach.

Pristine beach where the water is usually as cold as the water on the West Coast. Fine white sand and also the natural breeding place for the black oyster catcher (swart tobies). No shops line the beach. Dogs on leashes allowed. Lovely mountains and nature.
