I was invited by friends to join them at The Eatery. It is the restaurant side of Silver Forest Boutique Hotel and Spa. Man, did I enjoy myself!!! The location, the atmosphere, the friendly staff, the menu of food and wines, and the beer selection. Absolutely everything was very, very good. Needless to say, I have been back there, more than once, and I will go there again. If you enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with good friends, good food, good drinks, and affordable, be sure to give this place a try. They are popular, so book in advance so you are not disappointed. I WIll never return or recommend -Unpleasant experience which ruined what was meant to be a special day. I am usually hesitant to leave bad reviews unless I feel it's needed, but what I experience can be avoided. I booked a few spa treatments for my mom and myself to enjoy for her birthday (mid-June) From the second we entered the place, we were rushed around. During a massage and pedicure, we have marketed the product no less than 8 times. The ladies were just relentless at selling products which I can only assume they get commission on. It is difficult to enjoy/relax during a treatment when you are constantly told all the 'problems' you have and all the magically products they have to 'fix' them. I can be patient, but it got out of hand when I clearly stated I was not interested and then got asked to sit in a different room while the products were placed on my lap while the same thing was happening to my mom in the other room. We had booked lunch at the restaurant but wanted to get out of there on principle.

Friends invited me to The Eatery restaurant. It was an amazing experience with super delicious pizzas. I was delighted with the attention to detail. The staff were attentive, friendly & efficient. Will definitely visit again.

After dinner, I booked a 3 night stay at silver forest with the manager on site. Told him I may have to postpone because of travels, he said that’s no issue. I postponed, came back after travels to find out he is fired. Owner takes a week to find my original booking, and uses a 30 day cancellation period as an excuse not to honor the agreement. They are full of themselves, don’t know how to treat a customer and for sure know nothing about hospitality. Go elsewhere. Don’t believe me, ask other people in the hospitality industry. They have a reputation for this behaviour.

This applies to the restaurant only. Extremely dangerous unlit steps from the parking area with some pathway lights not working. My partner fell down the last steps in the dark this evening. This could turn out very bad for all. Please install proper lighting asap before someone gets hurt. Food experience is excellent as always. Highly recommended. I booked a Khoi Khoi massage and lunch sunday special for my Mom's birthday. She said the massage felt like someone just passing their hands on her body 😕 I thought the stones were at least nice but no, the lady put ONE on my Mom's lower back and the other two on her hands 😐 I booked the one with hot stones specifically for them to put it on her back because she likes heat and she had always wanted one of those. The venue is beautiful and luxurious I was impressed by it, the food was also nice but the massage honestly ruined everything. Mom came home annoyed instead of refreshed. I will not book another session.

Great spot, but let down - again - by very poor service. Tuesday dinner, booked in advance. We waited more than an hour for our food and, when it arrived, parts ofmy chicken were uncooked. The table next to us said they had been waiting almost 1.5 hours. The manager blamed it on a big table that got their order in first, but that is unacceptable: it means they don't have the capacity to serve all the tables.

We watched the rugby and had an excellent meal! Pizza, steak and pasta was perfect! Staff were very friendly too! Pity we lost the game but the vibe made up for that! Thank you

What an absolutely amazing stay. The food, the staff, location - absolute gem, the rooms, the spa. Well done... We came for our anniversary and we felt special from the moment we arrived. It's a very beautiful cosy romantic place that I can go as many times as I can. The place is very neat though in the forest. Their prices on food are so affordable, I like their drunken fish dish. I just fell in love with the place on my first visit... There was this chubby African guy who welcomed us with such friendliness, pity I forgot his name.

What a disapoinent. Had a lovely evening planned and arrived to find the booking was moved from the area we booked. What proceeded was the worst service, drinks not arriving at the table, having to ask multiple times for things and food taking almost 3 hours to get out !!!! Eventually left before the desert we had ordered even arrived at the table.

Booking was ridiculous. Anthea and Carmen ignored most of my questions and refused to book me at the time we had originally agreed without helping me understand why. So I had to move my day around to suit them, if they had apologised or at the least acknowledged they had made a mistake I would have been happy instead they were abrupt and felt a little entitled. The massage itself was really well done. Lindi and Monique are really good and made it a nice experience for us although it is by no means a 60 minute massage. We arrived 10mins early and by the time we had finished all the paperwork and started the massage I estimate we had maximum 50 minutes of a massage which I don’t personally feel is enough but they don’t offer a 90 minute (as per their menu) which I would have preferred. My sister also had a manicure and I didn’t catch the beauticians name but she also did a great job. Outside of the therapists I felt like we were an inconvenience to the staff who clearly feel that they don’t need to make it feel like you are a valued customer. 2 stars is apparently “ok” according to google and despite the therapists being good, I can’t help but feel that the experience as a whole was just that, ok. Nowhere near what a venue like that should be.

Loved the swedish massage. Beautiful rooms. Professional staff. Food and service was really enjoyable. Probably one of the best burgers I've had. Hidden away but worth the trip.

We had dinner at the Three Kitchens restaurant. Friendly service and great food! Perfect for a special occasion or romatic dinner...

Went there for a Light Lunch after having a massage. Pathetic waitress that was clueless and got the order messed up from the word Go! Asked for 2x carafes of red wine and ordered the Pork Belly and Crispy Squid for lunch. Hour & half later still wait for the Starters. When querying, where is our food! We get a dumb look from the waitress not knowing what we talking about. The moral of the story is, when going there make sure that your order is repeated by the waitress and follow up with the Chef and Manager on duty.

This rating is based on the full experience with this place, from the first interaction until the last. We booked two nights with spa and three course meal. Rooms are excellent. All food and service from the eatery were beautifully prepared, mounth watering and delicious. We had the three course meal with wine and later ordered dinner to the room which was a treat. All portions were generous including breakfast that was the best! Room service was good. Atmosphere in the rooms and eatery all exceptonal. The spa experience was also professional and very relaxing. The only negative to note was that it felt their administration and organisation seem to lack a bit even if you try to communicate as much as possible. It could be that we arrived early but then we did not recieve all the information we needed upfront and it caused confusion and I ended up calling front desk all the time. And information I provided when booking did not end up on arrival. Nevertheless it was a great stay and I'd definitely go back and would highly recommend - to stay, to relax, to eat, to enjoy!

We had several meals there. The food and service are excellent. The menu is not extensive, but all the dishes on it are well prepared, fresh, tasty and beautifully presented. The decor is really comfortable and tables are far apart. You can sit inside, outside or in a rondawel with panoramic views of the forest. Because it's situated in s forest it is quite and the sounds of birds accompany while you eat. The prices are also reasonable. Parking is secure and plentiful.

Not a review of the hotel itself but the spa and eatery. Booked some treatments at the spa for my wife and I. Staff were friendly and efficient, facilities were great and treatments were fantastic. Quite well priced as well. Followed this with lunch at The Eatery. Opted for the 3 course menu, my starter I opted for beef cheeks. Iv seen this on cooking shows before, and seen how it gets messed up. Iv never had beef cheeks before but these were perfectly cooked, delicious and melted in my mouth. For mains I had the crispy pork belly. Absolutely perfectly cooked with veg and a sweet potatoe dauphinoise. The crackling was perfect.... Every single dish my wife ordered was spot on as well. For dessert I had the chocolate fondant... so delicious and oozed perfectly. Service at the restaurant is excellent and wines very well priced. Definitely will return here.

Anthea told me about The Silver Forest Boutique Hotel and Spa. Me and a friend went to The Eatery for breakfast. Venue beautiful, staff friendly, Manager looked a bit preoccupied and busy....but the staff was friendly and accomodating. Food was very nice. Atmosphere at The Eatery was really nice. Considering the venue for one of my events next year. Really a good place to visit.

I heard about this beautiful gem from a friend. Since going there for the 1st time on 14 August, we have now been back to visit and eat at The Eatery 4 times already 😊 The Eatery is the restaurant of the Silver Forest Boutique Hotel and Spa.The drive there, the setting, scenery and location, the atmosphere, the friendly staff, the menu and the Pizzas are just the Best 👍😊 We still need to give the Spa a visit👍 Absolutely everything is and looks so good and relaxing. Well done, Silver Forest!! We love your hideout gem of a place👏👏

We had a lovely experience at Silver forest spa. The environment was so tranquil. We were there for the Sunday spa and brunch special. It was lovely. The therapists were kind and professional, the massage was lovely and the place 5 star quality. The brunch at the eatery was also excellent and so worth it. We really enjoyed the whole experience. Will be back.

What a super jewel in our town. I was recently treated in the spa and then had a really delicious lunch. The staff are really professional and friendly without being intrusive. The meals are innovative and well thought out. I returned a few days later and was impressed again. We ordered pizza and it was really good. Great spot to sit in the sun on the patio or in the cozy dining room. Well worth it.

Though the food is tasty I would not say it was worth the price. The chocolate torte was dry and petite. There is only two options for non- meat eaters and it’s unimaginative and tiny. I wouldn’t pay more than R100 for that gnocchi meal never mind R165. It couldn’t have cost them R20 to make it. The pork belly was average.

Booked a day at the Spa for myself and husband. It was absolutely relaxing! The Spa is tucked away, and surrounded by beautiful lush forest. The have a lovely pool area and Cafe on the property. Will definitely be back

What a spectacular meal. We were served by Jeff who is the most polite, friendly & knowledgeable gentleman at The Eatery. Our drinks were AMAZING, Food was AMAZING and of course the views & ambiance were unmatched. Thank you guys for a lovely experience

First impression wasnt good I'm afraid. I had booked a table for two at 4pm and when we got there no one was aware of our arrival. The matter was sorted out fairly quickly. We felt better after being seated not having to hang around. From there it only got better... Atmosphere was great and the food was fantastic.

Had dinner reservations for our Anniversary at Silver Forest & booked last minute overnight stay at the hotel. This was one of the best decisions ever, as we had an amazing all-round experience. Picturesque venue with awesome, friendly staff that made our stay most memorable! Thank you Silver Forest for spoiling us, we'll surely be back.

The staff was friendly and attentive. Our meals were beautifully presented and utterly delicious. Our meals were missing part of the order when delivered and there was a bit of a disturbance from the kitchen at one point, with some raised voices. A big negative was the fact that two of the items in our order was substituted for other items without informing us. In one meal, duck was replaced with pork, and our dessert, which was supposed to be ice-cream, turned into a slice of cake and, I think what was a slice of fridge tart. The food was delicious, but the fact that they would change orders without informing the customer is not cool.
