Brought by friends who have been frequent diners for years. We absolutely loved it. They especially booked for when the owner Simonè would be there. He personally attended to us; a very humble yet strong personality.....and the food was amazing! We sat in the 3rd dining area at the back, underneath a stunning almost 3 dimensional art piece of an Italian village road. This only added to the ambience. When we visit again, I will definitely ask for that table again. The experience felt more immerseful because of that painting

It’s been delicious! Very good pasta and a nice atmosphere! Liked it a lot. The waiter was fantastic and the bread was delicious. The only negative could be that there aren’t a lot vegan options and it’s a little bit more pricey that the rest oft Capetown.

What an amazing evening! My daughter chose this place for her birthday dinner. The food was amazing, the staff even more amazing- so attentive: the waiters and management alike. The ambience...felt like we were in little Italy 🇮🇹...this was the best dinner experience I've had in a long time as the whole place was on point. Well done Cousins👏👏

The food was delicious! Loved our pasta, bread, and the starter cheese and meat tray. The staff was outstanding and attentive! The most disappointing was the aggressive, confrontational approach of one of the owners (Cousin #1) when dealing with the staff. We witnessed him yelling at one of the wait staff with a lot of hand gestures in a separate area. Only to later call out another wait staff member in the middle of the dining room in front of a room full of customers. Then coming back to the table to justify his behavior with the customers. And again confronting the wait staff about the same incident. This affected the ambiance, creating a hostile environment and we were ready to leave after observing a total of 4 inappropriate encounters. There is definitely a time and place to address these issues, which is certainly not in front of customers. The staff responded well and we highly recommend reservations but trust you will enjoy your food and service in your visit.

We were admittedly a little dubious about the location of the restaurant, as Barrack Street is where the Home Affairs Offices are and during the day absolute mayhem. We had a reservation at 7pm, and the street in that part of town was actually rather quiet at that hour, and we even managed to find a few parking bays in front of the restaurant. The restaurant itself is nothing spectacularly beautiful, rather old, and well used, but we loved the homey feel! And the aromas wafting through the restaurant upon our arrival had our mouths watering before we even sat down. The restaurant was fully booked when we arrived at 7 pm, and the table before us was in the process of settling their bill, so I reckon the restaurant was fully booked from 5pm even. Making a reservation is a necessity. Customer Service was incredibly efficient! We never sat for a moment wondering where our waiter was, and this restaurant has definitely the fastest time between placing an order to receive your meal. The meal portion size was extremely generous and so incredibly tasty! Cousins offers authentic Italian meals, which will put some of the other "Italian" restaurants in town to shame! And we thought their prices were rather reasonable!

This was such a great experience. The restaurant in in the middle of the city just off parlement plain street. The Vibe was very nice. Their house wine is the best house wine i have ever tasted. And the food was out of this world. If you. Want amazing pasta, this is the place to come. 5 stars

Dinner club with friends. Our table of 18 was handled very well, even during the taxi strikes and violence around the city. It was awesome to see the managers and owners getting involved in front of house serving the tables because they were low on staff. Very good intro to the menu and specials. Very knowledgeable. Interesting menu with loads of fresh pasta options. I took the seafood option with the squid ink. I tried something I don't usually try and it was very tasty and fresh. Pasta is not my "go to" at a restaurant but it was very good. I had the veal meat balls for starters which were also very good and then the chocolate temptations for dessert. They were delicious and you could drink the chocolate sauce like hot chocolate. Very yummy. Staff were friendly and knew their stuff and the food was very nice. Well done and thank you for the awesome evening.

Hands down the tastiest pasta you can find in Capetown! Authentic and the real taste of Italian cuisine. We booked late and still managed to fit us in during the busiest time. The manager is very welcoming, passionate and friendly. Fast service, staff are well presented and helpful on choosing the perfect dish. They had run out of a few selections though it was fine as the traditional cousins special was available and for everyone's first time here it's a must!

Seafood pasta was out of this world! Cousins pasta was well worth it although needed some seasoning. Wines were a little to be desired. Will pay the corkage next time.

Loved it, met 2 of the cousins and they are awesome. Service was amazing and the food is so nice ive been there twice, in a week.

The wheel turns as the wheel wills, but there is no will when it's the wheel of cheese. The Italian flair of treating everyone like family, really shines through. The food is beyond impeccable, and the preparation within the cheese wheel is an activity in itself. However, the lasagna is their pièce de resistance. I'll be making a semi-regular pilgrimage for this meal alone.

Not a fancy place, but like being at your aunt's home for dinner if she were a professional Italian chef. The service and food were perfect. I got the signature pasta and it was worthy of being their signature. I hope I can come again.

I’ve been to Italy many times, been to many Italian restaurants and this ranked quite low on my list. The service was great however our food was very average. We had the melanzane which lacked flavor and sauce. We also had the signature pasta thrown in the Parmesan wheel, which was very exciting however the pasta was cold and pasta undercooked. I asked them to heat it up, it came back hot, with more sauce and overly salty that we needed more water. Was rather upset the rave reviews didn’t quite meet the expectations, especially that it is quite pricey.

Beautiful place to visit - chilled atmosphere, great lighting. Food was exquisite and great wine recommendation. Waiter was attentive but not overly so. Kept the water and wine flowing. Despite being the last there we were not rushed out. Nice cocktail.

This is honestly one of the best Italian restaurants i have had the pleasure of being able to dine at. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is warm and feels like a giant hug. Their Cousin's special pasta is what i fall asleep dreaming about. Simple dishes with the most amazing flavour and fresh high quality ingredients.We have never had a bad experience and I'm pretty sure they were a big reason why we moved to Cape Town, This has become our local celebration spot and we will keep coming back! its what dining at an Italian restaurant should be.

We've been coming here for dinner since it was just a small little restaurant back in 2013, so seeing it expand over the years, yet still maintaining exceptional food and service - is fantastic. I love this gem of a restaurant! The service is impeccable. We had the lamb ragu gnocchi and the ricotta, truffle and black mushroom gnocchi which were the best pastas I’ve eaten. Will definitely be back soon!

I had such high hopes for this place after reading all these positive reviews. Sadly this was not the case. The food is quite tasteless and bland. My pasta was a bit below al dente (had the signature dish) for the price one would expect a decent size potion as well but nope. Would have given 1 star but staff are friendly and efficient.

The service was amazing! Stanley was our waiter and he was great. Definitely recommend the “craft wine” too. Pasta lacked flavor (had little to no flavor), ravioli over cooked and tasted a bit rubbery.
