If I could give this restaurant 10 stars I would, the food was out of this world. The service was amazing, I am blown away!!

What an amazing find! After seeing all the raving reviews, we went in with high expectations—and The Avenue DID NOT disappoint. The service is top-tier, the atmosphere is inviting, the menu is brilliant, and the food—OMG THE FOOD—is some of the best in Cape Town: Large portions, great flavour, fresh, and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend the Kingklip and Calamari (and will be back to try the steak). Special thanks to Eric and the team for making our evening great.

It was once again an absolute pleasure to dine at The Avenue. Their food was succulent and delicious, couldn’t resist to dig in with my hands. Despite the mix up with our reservation, they more than made up for it and left happy!

Want to feel like family? Almost like you are eating dinner with family at a Sunday lunch that only mom can make, then this is the restaurant to visit. You are immediately welcomed with a friendly hostess. The owner came around twice to come and say hello and find out how the food was. The table had chicken and butternut salad, burgers and steak with a delicious blue cheese and mushroom sauce. Go say hi and spend an evening You will not regret it. An unexpected trip down the quaint 2nd Ave, Claremont, we found ourselves at The Avenue restaurant. It was buzzing with an assortment of people as I made a grand entrance by almost falling on my face. The gracious owner, now grinning from ear to ear, helped me to my feet, and guided us to a perfect little candle lit table near a window in the corner. I had never been here before and had no idea what to expect so the deliciousness and well portioned meals that followed were a wonderful surprise. We started with Chef Rudi’s famous salad followed by pan fried sole with garlic butter and savoury rice. My partner indulged with a tender Beef Stroganoff served with mash. The total bill came to R585 including tip. Well worth a visit, especially for that weekend buzz.

The Avenue Restaurant is the most amazing, friendliest restaurant around. The staff caters to your every need, superb, top class service from the point of arrival to departure. Prices are on par and the BEST place for steaks and ribs. Speak of ribs falling of the bone.... SUPERB!!!!

Wonderful experience, I would definitely be back and highly recommend. We were warmly welcomed by the owner and staff and treated like regulars. We had the sirloin and fillet and both were perfectly to order. Good wine selection from well known and lesser known farms. We made a reservation at short notice on a Saturday evening, but we would've been seated regardless.

The first time we ate there a month ago, the food was good and good value for money. Sadly when we went again tonight, it may just as well have been a different place. Food was lacking any kind of passion. Veggies were over cooked and scorched, greasy and tastless, portions were different, shocking quality meat, tuff. Presentation was different, and it appears that there are two chefs. One chef has passion and the other chef, sadly simply does a job. If tonight was my first experience, I would most certainly not recommend it. Paying for a good meal out, is always a pleasure, tonights meal was for the most part, sadly a waste of money, and a dissapointment.

Fantastic service!! The staff are so kind and attentive. I really enjoyed the food as well; warm, tasty steak, juicy flavorful chicken as well as the best seafood I've ever had for an affordable price. Blown away!! Highly recommend. Very friendly staff (and they were very welcoming to our two puppies too...with no fewer than 4 coming over to greet our pups and bring them water). The kingklip was very tasty and the chicken kebabs were scrumptious... plus healthy, ample sides and a wide range of starches to choose from (will have the baked sweet potato again 😋). Next time I'll be trying a vegetarian option! Oh... and the naartjie and hibiscus kombucha!!

Food was good, service was excellent. My colleague loves this place so much she does date night twice a week with her hubby. We got so carried away in conversation and forgot to take pics of our food.

They sure know how to cook meat here. Had a wonderful dish of grilled chicken breasts which were full of flavour. Great selection of sides, the veggies and roast potatoes were delicious. Friendly staff and efficient. Would definitely recommend trying them out if you're in the area.

Service was excellent. Atmosphere very soothing and friendly Food explained and presented very well. The 2nd person was very happy with her burger meal and zucchini and halloumi salad. My seafood pasta was good not the best as I found it very oily. I must say and comment the amount of seafood in the pasta was a lot. Very unusual, just a little oily. The Chilly popper where excellent, my lips and tongue where dancing a tune of their own. Desert, cheesecake very fresh and excellent and the wine that I had was excellent, very disappointed that I was the only driver hence one glass was all i could have. Brilliant dinner. Everything is always so organised. The service is World Class. The management, Tony Mason and Priska always super friendly and accommodating. Also the food pricing is good value for money.

We enjoyed every moment of our meal, the quality and quantity of the dishes were divine, so a hats off to the chefs. Absolutely brilliant! From the meet and greet at the door to seating, assisting, and the extra hands(the lady with short red braids♡) that assisted in clearing our table all displaying geniune care and kindness for guests. It was an all round 10/10 experience. Hope to try the shakes and desserts soon! Great food, we all loved it. Very cosy atmosphere. The beef schnitzel and beef fillet stroganoff were awesome. The 400 gr T-Bone was very well cooked and served. I can say we had the best chicken salad in Cape Town here. Definitely recommended 👌

What a lovely time we had at The Avenue! The food was superb and made it's way to our table very quickly. There's such a warm and homily ambiance. Our waitress Mercedes was efficient and very friendly, Prisca checked in on us a few times and Tony came by to chat which added to the wonderful experience! They really went out of their way to make us feel welcome and at home. Especially love the fact that they have perspex screens between each table during COVID-19. They never disappoint, their food is always delicious and well presented. Staff is like family, very helpful and welcoming. Lovely ambiance. First time we took the kids and they enjoyed it as well.

We have been here so many times over the years and the food quality has stayed consistent. The food is delicious, the staff always friendly, quick service and very accommodating. The steaks are the best items on the menu, but they have you covered if vegan with quite a fair selection of items. This is our go to place for a special occasion.

Great food and good vibes..

I have been to this restaurant a couple times now, and every time has been wonderful. The staff are nice and friendly, and the food is delicious, good portion and presentation; and the atmosphere of the restaurant is a good balance between vibrant and intimate. Tonight I had my usual 350g Sirloin steak which never disappoints, while the rest of my family thoroughly enjoyed the gourmet burgers. Unfortunately, I did not have space for a milkshake.
