It’s not that bad but not that good either. This was tricky for me to settle on when it comes to a star rating. It’s free and there’s a wonderful playground and a few ponds. But the variety of trees and plants are limited. The park is big but I did see a dead duck and when my boyfriend told the cleaning staff about it the guy just shrugged and said it’s not my problem. The grass isn’t cut and there’s dirt laying around. I wouldn’t go back. There’s better maintained free parks in Cape Town like Green Point Park for example. I made the most of it and smiled. If you’re in the area it’s fine to go just don’t make extra effort to get there.

Attended the Revere Market (17th Dec2023) and it was out of this world. It was thee most amazing event myself and my family attended. The food stalls , the various stalls amd even the rides were amazing 👏 everyone was so happy, friendly, calm, and joyful. It was really a fair to be remembered forever! Really put Maynardville Park back on the map 👏

What an awesome festive vibe at the Maynardville Revere Market. Food was sumptuous. Fashion and entertainment was a blast for a long weekend. Hope to visit the next edition. The Maynardville Garden Market was the best I have seen thus far. The atmosphere was electrifying.

Great place to take the family, nice for a quiet picnic. More seating would be nice and maybe security as you may have little ones with you. Children love seeing the ducks. Park is adequate and dog lovers welcome

I've been here a few times for various performances over the years - you can't go wrong unless it starts raining while you're there. The performances are always good, the venue is lovely and intimate but open to the elements which allows for more than adequate ventilation. The sound is really good too. The food and drinks can be pricey but you're paying for convenience. Parking - best come early and wander around the place looking at the food stalls or grab a bite and take a seat at a table and just relax till the performance. I'd definitely recommend it. If you haven't been or new to cape town then give this a go.

Very nice place, however it’s littered with trash. I wish the visitors were asked to clean up after themselves. On the positive side, there was a security guard who did a good job of removing a homeless man who was definitely high on something and was trying to change his pants in front of myself and our family. Over all it’s very nice, just wish the maintenance was kept up a bit better.

I love this park. It's peaceful. There is ample space to picnic, run, or play games. There's also a children's play area close to the entrance opposite Four and Twenty Café. The park often hosts markets and open-air theater events in the summer.

Ladies was out of order and the gents had no doors on it. It was open on a Sunday. The park was really open and had lots of amenities for the kids.

Attended a fantastic evening Rachmaninoff piano duet put on by the City of Cape Town Symphonic Orchestra. The piano playing was superb and world class. What an unbelievable experience in the open with birds flying over head on their way home and then the evening star. The seated audience were quieter than that at ArtScape! Just a lovely relaxed incentive by COCT. Food stalls available for quick meal beforehand, drinks including wine, restroom facilities available, security and very pleasant crew to assist. An experience not to be missed for old and young. A must for any theatre or concert goer and even if you are neither.

A must go to park. Whether it's for a walk, to have a picnic, taking your dog for a walk or taking the kids there for fun. There's enough playground for kids, areas for picnics, lots of paths for dog walking and wondering around

We love this park. Great for kids, riding bikes and paying sports on grass. Toilets are normally accessible and clean but this specific day it was locked.

A beautiful atmosphere and a lovely place to relax and get some fresh air. Dogs are welcome as long as they're on a lease. My Yorkie had a blast. The trees are so tall and their boughs are so green and beautiful. An enjoyable place to sketch and often quiet within the week. You'll find a curation of ducks, geese and squirrels alongside a beautiful lake and kid's play area.

Attended the Southern Mail Family festival held at Maynardville Park. The event was well organized with adequate security. It was well supported imo at the time we visited. The line up of local artist was good and entertaining. The grounds are well maintained and there were lots of support service to ensure that the grounds remain litter free and plenty of bins were provided. Felt the food offerings were good but pricey. Especially liquids with a small coke selling for R20. All and all a wonderful afternoon. The rides were well supported too but here I feel the costs were also high but this did not stop the crowds. Managed to do the Mexican Hat on the insistence of. My husband and I am glad to report my organs have all re-aligned. I will definitely support the next event. 👌

Love taking my son to this park. It's clean, safe with good playground equipment. All kids play together and the Kids love it. I love that there is always a security guard on site

Lovely park situated in the southern suburbs. The park has a nice cosy ravine with lots of flora and fauna. Sundays tend to be busy with families coming over for their Sunday lunches however this park is beautiful

We watched Midnight summers dreams and the adaption was funny even if the humor was not as family friendly as it was advertized.

Awesome park. I used to come here as a child with my dad. It has changed drastically since the 90's, but still a park I'd visit if I have time. Chelsea village is right around the corner if you want to grab breakfast or just a bite to eat. There is a park and the kids can play to their hearts desires. There are also public toilets. It used to be much greener, but of course there is a water shortage so grass isn't always as lush as it used to be. Take a thick blanket to hide the hard grass.

Park is clean, but water feature needs to be cleaned up from plastic and debris. The pond needs attention from hycinths?

Tranquil and busy with kids. Hard to find combo. Ducks and geese all around. A little mossy water mass. Big pond. Lots of trees in the right place for shade. Park tables and benches. Enjoyed it after many, many years.

If you just want to have a peaceful picnic..would recommend. Not too crowded.. fun for your tots. Ducks can be a bit demanding and will walk you out of the way if they need to... lol. Recommend the park side close to the toilets...much cleaner than the other side.

Great playground facilities but not enough security. A child got stuck underneath the merry-go-round and there wasn’t anyone to help the childminders.

It's always a place where I can go to relax by. Peaceful you can't hear the cars that much. And it's cleaner than most parks I've been to.

I love this park, all the old trees, the lake in the middle, and lovely jungle gym and workout space for the kids and adults. There can be a few shady characters hanging around sometimes, but there are generally enough people around that one doesn't feel unsafe.

Neat ,clean and on my visit there a park guard was patrolling to keep it so .A place of calm in a world of noise . Ideal for children, picnics, or just a relaxing walk. Good for photo taking for a wedding or such.

I had a good experience overall. My friend had her daughter's1st birthday there. It was a nice place with nice views and a chilled vibe. The children played and were free to move around. The security guards were helpful and very attentive to everything that was happening around so that made us feel safe.
