I particularly love this walk when it rains and then the waterfall is even more stunning. A great walk and one can see much of the southern suburbs stretching out to Gordons Bay and more. Beautiful scenery and varied flora to be seen. The walk itself is not challenging and can be fun for kids.

Cecelia forest has many routes, some circular, some not. The nature reserve welcomes dogs, trail runners and mountain bike users. The path that was chosen started off steep and the path back was steep as well. The hike was a total of 3 hours and 30 minutes. Totally worth it, as we got to have a picnic at the foot of the Cecelia forest waterfall. The look out points allows you to see the panoramic views of Constantia. For this hike you need shoes that are able to grip well, especially when descending. 1.5 litre water is sufficient. The route feels safe, however it’s always best to hike in a group. The hike is suitable for children 10 years and above. Entrance is free and there is parking available.

It's a wonderful walk that can take you all the way to the Contour Path and Kirstenbosch Gardens if you have the energy. In the other direction, you can have a great walk toward Constantia Neck in scenery that lifts your spirit. To be fair, look out for the mountain bikers who ride fast coming down the mountain and there isn't a lot of parking either. When you walk here, ensure you have good shoes because it's slippery on the gravel. The paths are well-marked and it's fairly safe to take a walk, but it's better to walk in groups than alone.

The waterfall in Cecilia Forest is like a scene out of a Jurassic Park movie. It's absolutely breath-taking & always worth the hike to it. Takes btwn approx 75mins from the car park & using a normal walking pace.

Glorious walks and trails for all levels of fitness ; don’t be put off by the jammed car park, once you get going there’s no one around. Great for dogs but must have a leash as baboon troops reside in the hills. Tip the guard on the way out ; he has valuable insight on the conditions.

One of my fave hikes in Cape Town! Made our way from the Cecilia Forest car park up the Ravine to the waterfall. Ideal for hikers who are moderately fit. Quite an uphill climb and some rock scrambling along the way. Paths are not always well marked, so plan your route ahead of time or ask other hikers along the way. Most of the route we went was in the shade, with sweeping views over the city now and then. Stunning King Proteas were beginning to bloom. The waterfall is just beautiful and a lovely spot to relax with a picnic (don't litter please) and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. A wonderful green escape from the urban jungle. Highly recommend it, but please go with a group if possible. Bring water, snacks, fully charged phone, sunscreen, wear good hiking shoes.and have clothing for warm and cold weather. No charge to hike this trail. There are a number of trails within Cecilia Forest.

Brilliant path through the forest. Looks like a tropical island interior paradise. There are many paths through the forest. So best carry a map as most of the junctions aren't very well marked. There is no danger of getting lost but you may have to spend a lot of time getting back to the start if you take the wrong path

Beautiful scenery! Well maintained trail with nice shaded areas. Be prepared for a lot of stair climbing. There is parking at the beginning of the trail with a very friendly car guard. You can park along the road too, if parking lot is full.

This is my LOVE/HATE trail. One of the very many Table Mountain National Park gems. I love it because it is so versatile (if that is even the right way to describe it). I love it because there are tons of trails to choose from that will take you to so many various points. I love it because there is a refreshing waterfall on one of its trails and I LOVE it cause you can do a light leisurely stroll with your kids, toddlers or dog and u can turn back whenever you’ve replenished your outdoor tank. It has breath taking views. It is mostly shaded and just calms the soul. Then why I hate it - only because I am a novice hiker and those steps are killer but AWESOME. I hate it so much that I keep going back to hike a different trail in this beautiful forest. You can even start at Cecelia Forest and make your way over to Constantia Nek and follow the path to the 1st dam and if you much fitter than me, you can go on to the rest of the Constantia Nek Dams. There are 5 in total.

Awesome hike towards the waterfall, it's nearly 5-6 kms to the waterfall from the parking. My kids 6 and 9 managed to get to the top. Would recommend for first timers.

Incredible place to be, very much like a fairytale. You just instantly feel revived and one with nature. Its one of the greenest forests I know, the scenery is lush and breathtaking. The waterfall was flowing beautifully, its an enlightening experience. The hikes around this area are fun and safe, for families and animals to enjoy.

One of the city’s incredible hiking trails, has two majestic waterfalls and you can also walk into Kirstenbosch from here.

Fantastic views of Constantia all the way to Muizenberg and as far as Gordon’s bay. The trail doesn’t really have markings but that isn’t necessary as the trail is easy to follow without them. The dam at the top was a treat to see and one can walk all the way to the cable car if you’d like to.

Was a lovely hike. Steep but not dramatic. I needed lots of mini breaks going up as the steps up were a bit much for me. But I made it and in good time too.. Do not recommended for toddlers. There are dogs (and occasional baboons) on the path as well. I recommended going with someone who has been before or having an app that guides you as there are many other trails on the route to the waterfall.

I'm a novice hiker and found this trail to be very easy and enjoyable. Beautiful views with a fantastic waterfall to take a nice break at, I highly recommend this trail for any level of hiker. It's not a terribly long hike with some parts in full sun and other parts shaded.

Part of Cicilia forest, trails are just awesome. First time up it might be a bit strenuous, take a bottle of water.

Cecilia is a section of the Table Mountain National Park on the lower eastern slopes of Table Mountain in Cape Town, located just to the south of Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden.

Good walks and cycle path up and around the mountain. Some straight and some steep. Not much shade from trees (only where there are still a few pine trees) so hats, skin protection, water and snacks is a must.

One of the best hikes. You reach the top and get to a reservoir with an amazing view. Starts off gentle to warm you up and the last stretch is a steep as hell hill.

Parking area has a car guard, everything is growing and the streams are flowing well with all the rain. Lots of people around and about. Walking on mountain roads and there are single tracks.

Cecelia is a good go to for me. You can make it as difficult as you want and the initial walk through the "fairy" forest is always a pleasure.
