Mamma Roma Review This place is one of the best restaurants in town. Their steak is delicious, so is their sole and pretty much every other item on the menu. The staff is very friendly and get your orders out with no unnecessary long wait. This place is classic, refined and should definitely be on your list of restaurants you would like to go to. I’ve been going to this restaurant for over 12 years now and their food has always been consistent and amazing. Overall, what an experience!

Really good. The mamas Roma chicken has this velvety mushroom sauce that's just amazing... My wife had the ladies filet, and and what a good cut of meat, well seasoned and grilled. Nice ambiance, good and fast service too.

One if those special restaurants that you go to for special occasions. Always fantastic service and excellent quality food. I had grilled calamari, my wife had the veal, my nephew the fish and everyone's food was brilliant. Service by all the staff was also exceptional! Make sure to book as they get jam packed - was lovely to be in a full restaurant again - and we went on a Tuesday! Keep up the good work guys and Thanks for a lovely evening!!

Went with friends on Valentine’s Day. The waiter (Nick, if I remember correctly) and owners were impeccably hospitable and the food was excellent and generously portioned . I loved how perfectly cooked my seafood pasta was and the prawn pasta sauce was absolutely delicious. The pesto gnocchi? 👌🏾. We got cheesecake and tiramisu for dessert. Unfortunately the cheesecake was too sweet for my liking but the tiramisu was good. Highly recommend.

Went with friends for their last dinner in Cape Town. The pasta and gnocchi were splendid and very filling. Great salad bowl and delicious dessert, especially the sorbet which highlighted the end to a wonderful evening. Loved that it's a family run business, and that the owner checked on everyone and made sure we were all comfortable and enjoying the experience. Do book in advance and know that there is parking in the basement or on the road for you. It was lovely to see many local elderly ladies and gentlemen having dinner. We could see they were mostly regulars who grew up with the restaurant itself and enjoyed every moment of their stay. Thank you for the great memory created for everyone. Their will definitely be mentions of Mamma Roma when anyone wants delicious pasta. Take care...

First time I went to Mamma Roma they were fully booked and now I understand why. One of the Best seafood pasta I had in Cape Town (perfectly cooked seafood) and amazing service. Super excited to go back!

Elegantly simple and fabulous meal.

A lovely family orientated italian restaurant with a personal touch and authentic dishes. The staff and owner were very hospitable and made sure that we were comforable at all times. The pastas were made to perfection and the wine selection was great. I will definitely be back🍝🍷😘

Very enjoyable atmosphere and the food was very tasty and well presented.

The best steaks in the Souther Suburbs, food consistency is incredible, we've been eating here as a family every Thursday evening for the last few years. Service is outstanding, cosy warm atmosphere and the food never disappoints, would highly recommend!

This place...I have no words. The food was incredible, the pasta was perfect. The hostess who may have been the owner, was lovely and attentive. I would eat here daily if I lived in Cape Town. Highly highly recommended!!

Lovely restaurant for a catch up with friends

I know Romano for 37 years and his variety of Italian and International food preparation has never failed me and my guests. I am speaking as a gastronomie connoisseurs as an old Hotelier Restaurateur and Chaine des Rotisseurs. Viva Romano and his sosie Chef Luigi.

We had a great time here. It was quite busy (even on a weeknight) so it's best to make a reservation. Food was authentic (as far as I'm experienced with authentic Italian food) and the waitstaff were knowledgeable and engaged. We will be back.

Our starters, mains and desserts were delicious. The coffee was superb. Our server was interactive and attentive. We enjoyed our dining experience and will be returning.

Warm and quaint dining experience. This is a family run business, which is obvious in the manner in which this restaurant is run and how good the food is. Its the kind of place where you spend your money and walk away feeling fulfilled, knowing your money was well spent. Definitely a place I will come back to, and next time I'll bring my kids.

Maybe I fussy but for me the pasta bologna was a huge portion but average tasting desserts were good .very busy booking is essential. Too crowded layout when the restaurant fills up you can barely carry a conversation at your table. Pricey expect to spend a pretty penny especially in large groups. Very efficient waitrons

Love this place. Steaks always cooked to perfection. Main meals always served with wonderful fresh vegetables. You know you are going to leave happily satisfied that it was money well spent. Management and staff are on the ball and we are always made to feel very welcome.

Italian restaurant with a very nice vibe. I loved the the decor and the seating is really comfortable. Unfortunately I found the food bland and our lasagne was dry and full of pasta (if you know what I mean, no sauce). For the price I think it could be much better. The great company made up for the food.

Food was fair. Service was excellence. My wife had a calamari dish and then in turn had an upset stomach. A rather bad experience. The location is superb, the atmosphere is very good and great to have underground parking.

Beautifully owner managed restaurant where the waiting staff are phenomenal. I was treated like my support was important to them. That made me feel special. Lovely menu options and food quality and pricing are aligned

Went for dinner for our anniversary. Stunning experiences, well trained staff, great atmosphere. Note that the food takes a little bit longer as it is made fresh and is delicious.

Authentic Italian, have always loved it. Have maintained a consistent standard over many years. To top it all, they had Cassata on the menu which very few Italian restaurants still seem to have.

Good food, good service, well priced

The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. The restaurant is run by Italians, which makes everything so much more authentic. The food is excellent, to say the least. The desserts just need a little TLC to keep up with the impeccable standard of the food. Other than that, we have eaten here twice and will definitely come again within the next month!

Was really good. We used to go to mama roma when we were newly wed still in the 90's in Stellenboschand I never knew that they still exist. We visited tonight and I had the Calamari pasta. Wow it was really good and brought memories back from looong ago. Well done guys, it was amazing thanks
