Love the setup and decor, very cozy and romantic. Service was top notch even though there were 1 or 2 hiccups it was rectified without hesitation or us as a customer having to say anything. Absolutely loved it. Their Cheesecake is FANTASTIC 😍. Highly recommended their Boerie starter.

Celebrated my birthday there yesterday. We didnt have a reservation but they made a plan for us, so thankful for that. The food,the services the ambiance, the prices,the portion 10/10. Thank you so much to the team for taking care of us from the moment we entered till we left 👏

Great place for late night food. The filling seems to stole the spot light of the bone marrow. Beef tartar in this country seems pretty good overall, The fish was over cooked. The game meat is cooked perfectly.

Disappointing lunch recently. had to wait an hour for starters n then a meagre helping of fish n chips. not again !!!

It's a very chilled place to dine at. I find it very small though, hence there is no space to hang around freely. I loved 😍 their spicy chicken livers! Would wish for the service to be faster. The waiters provide a very good service though. My veges were more boiled than roasted, I didn't like it.

okay fair enough did not book a table so sat at the bat. Ordered the house red - really good. Ordered the snails for starters always had them before lots of garlic sauce and clarified butter - yummy. What can I say they arrived in some white glumpy sauce - cold and yucky. I hope the steaks were better as I left thereafter. What I used to live about the Hussar and the ambience was gone the Hostess was no where to be seen

Very nice staff members, which provide good service. The place is nice and cozy from the inside. The steaks were okay, but nothing special in particular. Beautiful experience we had at this joint. Warm welcome by a team of friendly staff. Food quality outstanding and a good value of cash. Amazing environment and atmosphere. Product knowledge by the waiter needs maintenance,waiters are super friendly but do not communicate food well - Took off a star for this. Tip; Train waiters to communicate and explain the menu to clients without being asked,this is very important and would up sales. friendly and welcoming attitude from all the staff,from the barman,waiters,chefs and managers.

A terrible experience. My first, and my last. In this day, my white friend is personally handed the bill? Why am I not assumed suitable to pay? I was the one paying. My white friend is still the one assumed to be the patron. Oh, thank you sir. While I am apparently the slave being done a favour to be allowed to dine with great presence. What a shock, a black person paying! In addition, we are told to leave, just after having paid, and still drinking our coffee. We had the table for 10 more minutes before the next guests were booked. Finally, I had ordered medium, I got rare. Having been told what a historical place this is, I was looking forward to the experience. And boy did I get it! Fortunately, none of the other Hussar Grills I frequent have this disgusting attitude. Anyway, I tipped really good. I left without a word. I choose my battles.

We went to Hussar Grill in Rondebosch to celebrate a friend Bday. While the place feels cozy and warm (perfect in a cold and wet summer day), it also feels very narrow. We were sitted by the stairs, table of 6, and felt a bit squizzed. All of us were satisfied bout our starters and mains (even if one had to send it back because it got cold waiting on the shelves by the Kitchen) for too long. The main issue was the wait to get our starters and then our mains (took a while…) Also our mains being brought when starters plates are still waiting on our table is not ideal. To be honest the experience got a bit messy at the point. Too bad.

Went here to enjoy the Date Night special on Tuesday evening. Do make a reservation online as they were quite busy. Lovely waiter at our table - it was a cosy and enjoyable date night. Value for money, decent portion sizes and a reasonable turnaround time on our order. They were very busy and we didn't once feel 'forgotten'. Our table was neat and clean. Food and wine was delicious.

The atmosphere was amazing. Srevibg food like a science experiment. The yaste was as good as the presentation. Really enjoyed it.

Must book otherwise you may be disappointed, they get busy and go hungry! We ordered the chateu breiand and the ribs for mains. Both delicious.

I suggest you try all the other steak houses in Cape Town before you come here. Once you visit this spot, you won't want to go anywhere else. Never had a bad meal here. It's better than the other hussars grills. It's old and dinky and crowded and loud and I go there for my steak fix whenever I can. This place does justice to steak and can rightfully call themselves a steak house.

Amazing food and service

Amazing steak and absolutely great service, the staff are friendly and the wine recommendations are on point. The food can vary slightly depending on the day you go but overall a very good dining experience. They do also have another branch in Camps Bay but this is the original.

Popped in after a play atthe baxter. Open until eleven pm.i had the filet steak on the bone with truffle and mushroom butter. Wow! So delicious and perfectly cooked. The other 3 in our party lived whatever they had. Also steaks of varying kinds. Highly recommend.

What an outstanding dining experience this turned out to be! Our server Thabile truly went above and beyond to ensure we had the best dining experience possible. The atmosphere was very laid-back, with great music. The food was incredibly amazing, especially the Chateaubriand which was cooked to perfection! The bone marrow was delicious, and the sides delicious! We also had multiple desserts, which we truly enjoyed. The creme Brule was really good, and the bottles of wine really food! I highly recommend going there for dinner!

This has to be the best filet steak I have ever had it was beautifully rested and medium rare was def the best way to have it. Service was great it was busy but very attentive. Highly recommend

Tuesday 'date' night special. I don't know how the Hussar afford to do this and still deliver incredible quality and excellent service. Not photos due to amazing company. But absolutely totally worth it.

Quite disappointing. With the reputation and years in business definitely expected better for the price point. Had steaks sit down and take away both very average and bit dry (ordered medium rare). Ribs also not tender at all with a bath of sauce. Suppose becoming a franchise is always a trap. One star as the service was pretty good and olives n crisps n vodka choc shot a nice touch.

We had a fantastic meal! They have a daily special of 1 starter and 1 main for R130 pp which is an absolute steal! The sirloin steak we had was absolutely perfect and tender. I can highly recommend their food and excellent service. Go on and Treat Yourself!

I am from Somerset West I booked a table for my friend (who is from Durban) and myself at the Hussar Grill Rondebosch yesterday I’m disappointed to say if this was the first time I ever ate at a Hassan’s Grill it would be the LAST time. The food was SHOCKING!! The steak I ordered was small but tasty my friends chicken she said was good but the sides?!?!?! I would have been ashamed to dish up those OLD COLD ‘roasted’ veggies to anyone! I told the waiter but he didn’t say a word not as much as even an apology. No problem because I would NEVER return.
