Trendy, upbeat restaurant offering indoor and outdoor seating in one of the most Boho suburbs in Cape Town. Beautiful garden seating out back with a graceful atmosphere throughout the venue. Busyness during the evening can lead to extremely long waits for even a bottled drink and from what I saw of the food, the menu is mostly tapas style with quirky combinations of battered and fried options.

Went for dinner last night. They have ladies night on a Thursday so there are discounts on some cocktails. We had the ribs and the pavement special. The food was good and the restaurant is quaint and cute. Staff are attentive and always checking that you okay. Love the fireplaces in the house though we didn't sit too close as wouldn't want to leave. I will definitely be back to come and chill and have a drink. Sorry I took one photo of the pavement special as my love for all things rissoto knows no bounds.

Patrick is one of the best waiters I ever seen You guys were super busy, the restaurant was at capacity, and he was fantastic! I appreciate a server who does a great job, and he handled our table of 4 adults with a perfect display of relaxed competence. Well done!

Great restaurant and brilliant staff. I hosted a birthday dinner here. What makes this place unique is that it was a house converted into an beautiful aesthetic restaurant . I was able to book a room for the whole night at no extra charge. The room I was in could accommodate 20 people. The Manager Pooven was very helpful and made sure that the night went very smoothly. My night was very memorable thanks to how attentive and helpful the staff were. The food is amazing and not too expensive . I Would 100% recommend to anyone wanting to host or even to stop by for something to eat. There is also paid parking lot available across the street.

Food was amazing, place is beautiful and quite quaint! My waiter that day was very distracted though as it was a Jazz thing going on inside - it took 30+min and asking 3 waiters 7 different times for a glass of water for my friend though. Would go back but not when there is an event going on.

Popped in to listen to se local jazz musicians doing there thing. Fantastic music and enjoyed the "homey" feel to the place. Well priced drinks, fair snacks which we ordered and comfortable seating areas all through the house. Worth popping in if you are looking for something different.

Came here for pre drinks, cosy atmosphere, a great place to chill and start your evening, 4 stars because the big window in the ladies toilet needs fixing other than that staff were friendly and we enjoyed our time here.

The atmosphere was amazing! Very homey and hidden nooks and crannies all over the house. Our waiter, Bobby, did such a great job serving us. He was the only waiter and ran the whole shop on a Saturday night #thisguyneedsaraise. Naturally we waited a bit longer, but he attended to all our needs with such grace and we didn't mind the wait at all! The food was absolutely delicious, can recommend this place for an intimate or group dinner as well as a place for pre drinks/good bar vibes. Definitely a must if you're in obs <3

Good food, reasonably priced. I ate there twice in the same week - lunch & supper. There was a nice buzz in the evening - though didn't have the same vibe at midday. There are several small rooms (each a bit different), which makes for an intimate & varied experience. Overall it was an enjoyable atmosphere & I'll definitely add it to my regular places to eat list.

The only place in obs that gave a little spice to nibble on. Their chicken curry and rice is exceptionally good. Theirs drinks are cheap and their environment is absolutely best. They have live music almost every other night the servers are friendly and most important their interior is cozy and makes you feel at home.

Friendly, funny and quick service. Before our drinks were finished, they would ask if we wanted another round. Super chilled, cozy, and friendly vibe. We didn't eat there, so I can't comment on the food.

A go-to fave! Don’t come here expecting formalities or to be waited on hand & foot. The space is quite big & the team is great at making you feel welcome & comfy! Very much like you’re visiting your bestie’s house, if your bestie casually also made BOMB food & had great drinks on tap. Yummy snacks & meals, super cosy & comfy environment, great team that’s super welcoming & friendly. Side note: their coffee is really good. Like, better than you’d expect.

From the outside the place is surprisingly deceiving, it is rather big inside. The waiters and barmen were very friendly and accommodating even with load shedding they were able to assist with almost anything. Went for a work function so it was pretty quiet but seemed like a very decent spot. Well worth a stop

This was such a lovely find in the heart of Observatory. There is ample seating throughout with options to sit out front in the stoep, indoors or out back in the courtyard under shade. A very cool spot to sit at on a hot summers day. The food here is really tasty and affordable. The staff are friendly too!

We frequent this establishment at least 3-4 times a week for recreational and business reasons. The service from the usual daytime waitress is absolutely terrible. Have to wait at least 20 minutes for service when the venue isn't even busy. She makes minimal effort to give regular customers good service. We often just let it slide but today was just the last straw. Waiting 15 - 20 minutes for a coffee? As someone that has worked in the service industry both front and back of house for over a decade, this is comical to say the least.

An incredible restaurant with the best staff and delicious food. I highly recommend A Touch of Madness if you’re looking for good vibes and even better service. Please try the Roadkill and Mash!! Hands down, the best chicken schnitzel and mash in Cape Town. Special shoutout to the staff for always being so friendly and helpful. Thanks guys!

Rustic old-world vibe in a delightful multi-room conversion of a large old house. Food isn't fancy but it's well prepared and very reasonably priced. Happy hour seems to be every night till 8pm, with certain drinks half price. Mostly young crowd but old geezers don't seem out of place at all.

Nice and cosy place, really affordable pricing with very generous options. And some rooms have lit fire places which really makes all the difference in this chilly weather. But menu offering is quite small. Decided to go with their wings which they did say in advance would be sweet but those turned out to be too sugary sweet. Expected something as sweet as dunked wings, something along that line but this was way overboard. They should at least offer the wings in a BBQ option. Otherwise, good overall
