The store itself is beautifully managed and clean. The renovation was done extremely well, the only issue is that all the staff seem to be on the floor. There is always long lines at the tills, and I have been in the store a few times where there are only 2 cashiers at the express line, and 2 to 3 cashiers at the normal lines. There is however always staff walking or standing around, and multiple bag packers.

Really not a pleasure shopping at Checkers. To many staff pushing you out of the way to fill their 60/60 orders. Only half of the checkout points were operating. The cashiers are unfriendly and constantly chatting to the to there colleges loudly. It would be nice to have eye contact with the cashier to greet her, than to be shouted at "plastic?"

A Lovely Checkers. Clean tidy and well stocked. Just a bit disappointing to see (considering that the Cape has some of the most unique honey in the world) that of all the honey 🍯 in stock, only one represented local Cape honey. Wine is well represented and has great variety between up market wine to the more economical brands.

Only 1 attendant at the cold meats and salads, however, this overworked lady went out of her way to help me. Love the make-over the store got, but with prices sometimes higher than another more upscale store that starts with a "W", it seems a bit too pricey sadly

I like the neat and clean look of this shop. The passages are not so narrow and you have some space to move while you shop. Well done Checkers Cape Gate!!

It is always a pleasure to visit this amazing store. The incredible displays, the clean, neat, and tidy well-stocked aisles, entice shoppers to instantly smile when they enter this new shopping experience. This checkers rub shoulders with the finest in the country, with super efficient and helpful staff, great specials 👍

Bought cheese and sweetcorn samoosas and when I went home to eat them, it was off. Poor customer service ...pathetic actually and then they sell off or expired foods to the public as well. There's no quality control or F&B manager present...idk

I haven't been to this checkers for quit a while and what I came back to was quit surprising. The shop has had a make over and it suits. Where I previously I would have given it 2 stars, it rightfully deserves 4 stars now. As well the service as much improved. Well done and keep it up.

Shop has really been done over beautifully, but I'm super upset not to find the house brand mix on juices there anymore. It was my kids' favorites, and it used to be super affordable and value for momey

We arrived at Pick n Pay at 19:02 and it turns out that the shop was closed, which is ridiculously early for a Saturday. We went to Checkers and was so glad to see that they only close at 9. It’s always a pleasure shopping here as the staff is most helpful and friendly. The shop is bright and spotlessly clean and their prices are very competitive. 👌

Big store full of essentials. Cooked food department needs a lot of work. Their cheese cake is absolutely mess and the grilled chicken we bought wasn't fresh. Do better.

Love the new look of the store. I was changing the trolley for a smaller one and forgot my car keys in the trolley. An employee saw and returned it to me and this was on the morning of the 24th of December a very busy day. Forever grateful 🙏🌹

Well, considering the time of the year (festive season). It was a pleasant experience. We managed to get most of the items I wanted to purchase. The queues were long but the time spent in the queue was rather quick. I would recommend this store for your purchases when going to the Cape Gate Centre.

What an experience. Shop is busy getting ready for peak, aisle changes, board indicator changes. Had a hilarious experience when staff started running around, looking for items with board indicators showing completely different items.

Since the upgrades that the shop has received its a very pleasant experience shopping here. The staff are friendly and the shop is neat. The lines are long of course but the tellers are efficient and you don't stand too long

This branch is undergoing a revamp. And the store layout is so much better, rivals Woolworths. The stock is well displayed, the store is cleaner. The one gripe I have of this store is Coke Lite (silver label) was never available. I always had to go to Spar just for that after shopping. Very annoying. Hopefully Coke Lite will now get some shelf space

Wow it looks stunning after the revamp waiting time at tills is still a little bit slow can only go as fast as the cashier is but hey... They in Christmas slow mo vibe. Tired of the year... But everything else is great better veggies and fruits also not old and mushy everything is super fresh

After the revamp, this place is awesome. Looks better and bigger with lots more variety than there used to be. It's just overall more pleasant to go there. I prefer this Checkers store above the others closer to our home.

Well specced!! Please check your Darling Dairy Icecream in stock, something was not right when I opened it and had to throw away the whole tub (seems to have been defrosted and then re-frozen)

It's amazing the variety of things they have an the lovely shelves neatly packed and their tills allow sufficient flow of customers. You don't have to wait long.

Worst checkers in cape town. After revamp it just goes downhill. Staff member bumping customers in the aisle while they are rushing for nothing because they never do anything. Staff standing in the middle of the store blocking customers to do their shopping and customer has to ask them to move out of the way. Then cash register is a nightmare. They call next customer just to say you can't pay cash. Why open your doors if your unable to assist customers ???? Management team no where to found that is why staff is having a party all over the store because no order from managements side. Butchery isn't even helpfull when being asked for meat to be cut, they always out of stock but can see the meat through the glass window. Unacceptable !!!! Head office needs to come in and sort out this franchise store.

Large checkers with a great variety. The vegetable and fruit aisles aren't always well stocked but otherwise the store is kept neat and tidy.

Nice place to do your shopping. Always clean. They can just work on their trolleys, clean it daily, please.

They could really do something about their customer service at the tills and their bakery. The store is a beautiful store with everything you need available. The lines at the tills after 19h00 is so unnecessary.

Good BUT sometimes long queing & not correct special prices on system. Customers not checking get robbed from correct pricing. Checkers give bad service on the end. Otherwise huge stocking, but sorry always don't cut it. So annoying. Managers should check better. All around branches

The revamped Checkers is clean and airy but lost that warm feeling with the new checkout idea followed by so many stores. Standing in a long winding line through rack upon rack of sweets is horrid as like xattle going through the dip! Feels like forever before you will be served. Give us our choice of till back!
