Been in Cape Town 3 months, been to Rio Grande 14 times already. A local gem with liquor prices that are not greedy. The Prego roll and prawns Peri-Peri are superb 👌🏻. Going back soon. PS: the Espatada is 💯💯💯

What an amazing experience at Rio Grande. Complements to the chef. Live sport and light music in die back ground. Smoking and non smoking areas. Nice Bar with amazing staff that assists you. Food 10/10 and specials running daily.

A pretty chilled restaurant (we (2 people) went on a Sunday afternoon) with good service. The food was amazing and the prices reasonable. I loved the Dark Widow shooter (thanks to the waiter's recommendation). They have a smoking and non-smoking zone, which is a plus. I'll definitely be going back there again.

Too date visited four times. Bit of a cold atmosphere - however waitresses friendly - prices are a little on the expensive side , until you see the size of the portions - above average. Pizza's are good. Vegetables I recommend. However the burger patties are terrible. Hard , overcooked , like they were cooked the day before and just heated. Buns are dry with a ring or two of onion , one lettuce leaf and a piece of tomato - that for R70 ...... not worth it at all - Terrible Recommend : Yes , but stay away from the Burgers

Watching the semi final.... SA vs Eng... wow what a game... but food is always excellent.... atmosphere is awesome and I can't even rate the service.... no words can describe the amazing bunch of staff at this restaurant... always friendly and accommodating... on the ball and just the best ever. We have been back so many times since this review... Why.... because it's still soooo good. The food. The atmosphere. The service. The company and new friends you make. Wish I could meet and compliment the kitchen staff myself.... and maybe get a tip or too from them.... hehehe

For my first time experience - I am so unsatisfied. Ordered a rib & hot veg take away. Trusted that this was what I would receive without checking. Drove all the way home 22kms. And got disappointed with only ribs and no veg to be seen. Basically paid R160 for ribs only. The fact that I drove all the way to try this food and this is what I got… really disappointed.

Rio Grande or "Big River" nestled comfortably in the tranqil surrounds of residential Brackenfell - is a perfect hangout to catch-up on the FIFA World Cup with large screens 👏, a vibrant bar and two restaurant areas. The centre's parking area is somewhat cramped but there is ample street parking available and as safe - as the Security also has a street view. A former manager invited me to his retirement party and the atmosphere was greatly assisted by the menu offerings. Buffalo wings, fried calamari, veg pizza and delicious sides and dips. It was wonderful to see so many former colleagues and their "reimagined" growth and evolution. Google Maps proved a bit tricky very close to the venue so be aware of this. I took one right turn too many but the venue was still there after I made my slight - and not too unexpected - detour for Google Maps. No Big River was in sight, but the staff of Rio Grande had Big Hearts and warmly welcomed the retirement brigade. A wonderful place to create beautiful memories.

Morning What a pitty me and my wife could not experience the good food that everyone is talking about, Yesterday afternoon [ Monday 05/12/2022 we booked a table for 06H30. When arriving got a welcome and the drinks, then everything just collapsed. Three waiters that cant make contact, one complaining to the other one at the till, ignoring customers, after a half and hour, we stood up without any service, paid for our drinks, then the waiter said sorry this was really her mistake, will never visit this place again, was referred by by other people, when we got there everything looked good, said to my wife we must bring our family and kids here, but no thanks. Sorry, can't comment on your food, but your service BAD. Regards

First time visit in more than a year and I'm glad to say I did not regret it this time around. Massive improvement on the pizzas (especially the base that was always a problem) but was a perfect thin and crispy base and was well made, and always goes well with a brandy special

Very nice pizzas, drinks and not pricey at all where you can go and chill after a hard day's work with or without friends. Waitresses are always kind and friendly. Only thing that I personally don't like is there basting sauce used on there burgers, steaks, etc. If you want to gamble a bit, there is also a couple of machines for smokers.
