Ocean Basket Glengarry never disappoints, on entrance the staff always greets you warmly. The venue is neat and looks clean. The seating arrangements are what you would expect from a restaurant, and there's a smoking section. Our waitress was very polite and eager to please. Drinks were served quickly and our meals were taken and delivered as requested. All in all a great experience. There are restrooms which are clean and well kept! Plenty of safe free parking. One of the better Ocean basket franchises around. Our waitress was super high energy and the dishes were served quickly and correctly. In a world of franchise mediocrity this restaurant stands out. Well worth a visit.

We went for supper and we were helped immediately and service was really great. Was very impressed with how quickly the food arrived and it tasted really delicious. Would recommend the grilled salmon - it's amazing. They have a great kids play area and a decent smoking area as well. Love that ita situated on the second floor as it gives a great view looking out and perfect for when the sun goes down.

This is what I scraped from the take-away box. Now I don't know if it's a "take-away thing" or just Ocean Basket itself. Platter for one. My thumb is bigger than the 3 mussels. Thanks for half a fish, can't even give me the last little triangle part of a full fish. The food wasn't bad at all, mussel sauce is always to die for, prawns was soft and tasty. 1 star goes for the highly expensive R205 for a platter only to get half a fish and a small amount of everything else. I'm not the only one complaining, people talk. The bonus star is because it still tastes good.

The worst food I’ve ever received. I will never order from Ocean Basket again. The fish had a funny taste and the panko crumbed prawns was inedible as the whole prawn with its head, tail and tentacles was covered in crumbs which is inedible and one prawn was totally off!

Best sushi I've had in a long time, definitely the best I've ever had at an Ocean Basket. Salmon was fresh and rice was perfect in texture. Staff are also very friendly. I'll definitely be going again.

It's one of the better Oceans Baskets. And really Ocean Basket is my favourite spoil. They only thing I do not like about this one. Their bathrooms are disgusting. Wish they would do something about it.

The waiter was friendly and polite. When we arrived it was quite busy. Within half an hour, about 10 tables had been vacated. During this time we relaxed and enjoyed drinks. We then ordered our food, which took 45 minutes to arrive. 2 of the plates of food were cold to luke warm. My wife and her friend ate the food but were very unhappy. We did not send the food back as we did not want to wait another 45 mins to receive the food replacement. It happened previously as well, but we decided to give it another try. Yes, we should have brought to the managers attention as we had done on our previous visit . Will not be returning to Glengarry. Angry customer.

Thе sеrvicе, or lack thеrеof, marrеd what should havе bееn a plеasant dining еxpеriеncе. From thе outsеt, our еncountеr with thе waitеr sеt thе tonе for thе еvеning. Thе most shocking momеnt occurrеd whеn thе waitеr, sееmingly oblivious to basic еtiquеttе, placеd thе containеr of knivеs and forks bеtwееn my arms whilе I was еngagеd in convеrsation. This lapsе in courtеsy was both astonishing and off-putting. Thе disappointmеnts continuеd as wе pеrusеd thе wine mеnu, only to find that thе winе wе dеsirеd was forgotten to have been ordered to their suppliers. Thе dеlayеd and undеrsizеd brеad rolls addеd insult to injury, with thе еxcusе that thеy wеrе waiting for thеm to еmеrgе from thе ovеn. Rеgrеttably, this information was not rеlayеd to us, lеaving us in thе dark about thе dеlays. Our troublеs еscalatеd whеn wе dеcidеd to ordеr an altеrnativе winе, an ordеal that took an inеxplicably long timе. Thе tardinеss was such that thе kids had nеarly finishеd thеir soft drinks bеforе our alternative bеvеragе arrivеd. Inquiriеs about thе status of our food, aftеr an hour of anticipation, wеrе mеt with thе fееblе еxplanation that sushi takеs thе longеst to prеparе. This vital piеcе of information was conspicuously absеnt whеn wе initially placеd our ordеr. As frustration mountеd, a scеnе еnsuеd whеn my brothеr-in-law noticеd anothеr tablе, sеatеd aftеr us, rеcеiving thеir mеals promptly. Thе waitеr's еxcusе, oncе again, was thе timе-consuming naturе of sushi prеparation. To copе with thе prolongеd wait, wе found oursеlvеs compеllеd to ordеr an additional bottlе of winе, an action wе had to rеmind thе waitеr about twicе. Whеn thе main coursеs and startеrs finally matеrializеd simultanеously, it was еvidеnt that thе chaos in thе kitchеn еxtеndеd to our platеs. Onе of thе sushi platеs lackеd thе basic accompanimеnts of wasabi and gingеr, furthеr еxеmplifying thе lacklustеr attеntion to dеtail. In summary, our еxpеriеncе at Ocеan Baskеt in Glеn Garry was a rеgrеttablе affair markеd by subpar sеrvicе, unеxplainеd dеlays, and a gеnеral disrеgard for customеr satisfaction. Givеn thеsе numеrous shortcomings, it is with cеrtainty that wе dеclarе our dеcision not to rеturn to this еstablishmеnt in thе futurе.

The rolls was warm and tasted freshly baked. We ordered 2 different combos, hake and chips and "bite of the ocean". In short: The food was excellent. Our waiter W.P was attentive and accommodating. Great experience! We will definitely return and recommend.

Great food and our waitress was very sweet. Definitely we will return, don't forget to taste the deserts...baklava and chocolate lava!

Absolutely terrible service… we waited 45 minutes for the platter to arrive (The waiter didn’t even come once to our table or even gave us a look) and then the prawns were raw, the rice tasted and felt like it was a few days old as well as the chips. I complained but they only said sorry and cooked the remaining prawns, they didn’t even replace the two prawns that I used to show them how raw it was. After that we had to pay in front because the waiter took forever to bring the card machine. We were two people and the bill was almost R800. Now I don’t mind paying that much money but I work hard for my money and I had to pay R760 for this service and food… I’m furious and will need some strong convincing to ever go back there. If I could give 0 stars I would.

The food was absolutely delicious and the view you get is stunning (as long as you sit at the right place). There was also no doubt that this specific branch was busy. You can see waiters and waitresses getting back-to-back orders and requests from the constant flow of new customers. The service was alright, not perfect, but the food easily made up for that. We had a great time and the food was great! I would personally recommend the seared salmon salad! In summary, I would highly recommend this place as long as you have people with you to talk with while you wait quite a bit for the amazong food. Always been a fan of Ocean Basket but was a bit disappointed yesterday. Service was slow but to be fair it was quite full for a Wednesday evening. Portion size of their famous Fish & Chips on the small side. Attached the photo for you to decide. Good points - the food was tasty.

I took my parents out for lunch and they really enjoyed it. It was our second time there and definitely won't be the last. The food was really delicious and our server Sonique was fantastic. The Kingklip bites were very tasty.

So, if i want to eat fish, i always go to Ocean Basket Glengarry. The service was always fantastic. But yesterday, as it was my birthday, i decided to spoil myself. The waiter that was serving us, service was pathetic. She was so occupied with the couple that was drinking and having shooters, that she did not bring all the condiments to our table. I had to wait for her to look up to show her that we just want salt and pepper. (The food itself was great.) After we had our first coffee, we decided on a cooler. She then asked if we wanted something else to drink, we ordered 2 strawberry coolers. Still busy eating at that stage, she came back and went straight to the drinking couple and did not even blink our way. Still taking them their drinks..... After we ate, she finally came to the table and took the empty pans. She then asked if we wanted something else and we said, only the bill. Still waiting for the coolers that never arrived. Management must really see that the waiters call on all tables and not just the younger couples having a good time. She spoiled that was supposed to be the highlight of my Birthday!
