So we have been going here for the last 6 years and it is still one of our top 5 places to eat. The cocktails are amazing. The food is always good, meat is cooked to perfection. The booking system is also top notch. And the cheesecake well probably the best in Cape Town and I challenge anyone on that. Also the staff and service is great. If you looking for a date night restaurant this is a winner for sure.

Nice spot to grab lunch in the harbour, just exiting the mall. Really enjoyed the burger, didn't leave hungry at all. It was perfectly cooked and the staff were friendly. Also has a large broad menu so something for everyone.

This restaurant was very busy so we decided to try it out. The menu is super extensive which is appreciated but I do prefer one where they have their own speciality. The menu is actually a mini magazine which was difficult to run through. The food was priced so high that I was expecting really tasty food but it was just sub par. Steaks at spur are probably even better. Steaks at cattle baron are cheaper and far superior. Service was below average, unfriendly and barely cracked a smile. There is guest WiFi capped at 50mb so I guess that’s the only plus. Wouldn’t return especially because of the high price point.

Steak perfection! Typically a lot of venues will disguise a poor quality steak with a really good basting and sauce, some even fail miserably with that. However, Balducci hit the nail on the head with the superb quality of the meat, the incredible basting and even more amazing sauce 😋(lemon butter for me) and then cooked to absolute perfection in both scenarios at our table (medium rare + medium). Last time I had a steak this good and worth shouting about was more than 18 years ago! I got stuck in and before I realised I forgot to take a photo with it was all gone 😅 My partner is vegetarian, so when doing a quick search on Google for a restaurant that had a decent vegetarian option I instantly saw one of the previous patrons mention the extensive Vegan menu and it didn't disappoint! Can't express how much we appreciate a place that actually tries with vegan/vegetarian options, thank you Balducci!! The menu may seem super extensive and overwhelming at first but I appreciate the choice and only look forward to going back and sampling the rest. Can't praise Balducci enough for the all round amazing experience, will be back tomorrow and a few visits more while I'm in the area 🙏🏻

Just OK. Service was subpar and food was average. Good if your on holiday and craving italian at the waterfront. But I'm sure there must be better options.

Enjoyable lunch at #Balducci #restaurant at the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront in Cape Town. We had beautiful views of the working harbour from our table. Staff is friendly and helpful. Made sure we have a good experience. Food well presented. Menu is well laid out in the design of a magazine complete with locally produced wine options to choose from.

A lot of variety to suit every tourist but taste is just average... really friendly and professional staff

Balducci, since 1996😍😍😍 If there could be a extra star for excellence, Balducci deserves it! The vibe is seriously awesome, so casual, calm and the service is professional. All this before I can mention the tasteful meals. There is a menu specially for the mindful eaters(vegans), with almost bottomless options. From starters to main courses, to dessert(I advise the blueberry cheesecake) and even wines. It's a jolly good restaurant.

We visited Balducci for our wedding anniversary this past Friday (21/02). The only reason we are even giving this restaurant 3 stars if for the location, friendly waitress & relatively good food. The hostess was shockingly rude & one would think this is the first impression you get of a restaurant. When booking over the phone she told us in no uncertain terms our table would be given away if we didn't arrive within 10min of our reservation time. She barely greeted us when we arrived & when taking us to our table she slapped the menus down & walked away without even acknowledging us further! No smile, no "enjoy your evening" or even a thank you. This left a very bitter taste in mouths & sadly we will not be back, there are far more restaurants that actually value their customers.

Vegans rejoice! This place has a totally separate and huge vegan menu. The food was outstanding. We had amazing gin cocktails, a blooming onion starter with vegan chipotle mayo, beautiful jam jar salad with an incredible pizza. There were plenty options available and you can totally customise your own pizza too with amazing vegan cheese. Delicious! The nut cream pasta was stunning. We ordered extra and ate on the road the next day - possibly even better the next day! The service was truly special and attentive - Thank you Leesch and the team! Can't recommend highly enough.

One of my favourite restaurants in Cape Town. They have really good pasta dishes and their milkshakes are fantastic too. The vibe is great and good for conversation. The prices are reasonable for what you getting. Parking is no problem however it can be a hit of a walk. They have a loyalty card which is great to collect points from them and a few other restaurants which you can redeem once you have enough, for either a discount or free meal. Definitely recommend.

Excellent restaurant. The food choices are amazing. Our waiter (Fabrice) did a fantastic job with the service and we all liked his positive attitude. The seafood platter was amazing - highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys anything seafood. Personally I think it's a little bit overpriced. Even though it's marked "seafood platter for 2" one person could handle it - if no appetizers will be served. But it seafood is not on your thing, there are plenty other choices on the menu. Also, the cheese platter is really something to try out - my wife says so 👍👍

There are so many good restaurants in the V&A Waterfront that it becomes overwhelming to choose one. It was my wife's birthday and I was looking for a restaurant that has great food and a stylish atmosphere. Balducci's has them both. The decor was beautiful, modern and sophisticated without the "up-tight" feel you sometimes get at similar restaurants. Their menu truly is vast with options for every taste and there is even a separate vegan menu which you don't often see. We started off with some of their cocktails and starters, and then on to pizzas and wine which was just as delicious. Our waiter was friendly and as we made a booking we got a great table next to the window. If you are craving great Italian food, this is a definite must visit.

Not the friendliest of waiters that served us. Management advise your staff that especially when wearing a mask extra effort need to be put your tone of voice when dealing with your guests. A smile carries 😌 Only one of the waiters on the floor sounded happy to serve guests. Cause that's what we are... Guests in your establishment. Not just people ordering dinner. Food was good.

Went out for my 21st birthday to this place had the steaks they were good. For desert ordered 2 chocolate fondant and a slice of cheesecake was told the fondant would take 20 min, we were fine with that...fast forward an hour and 20 min later deserts arrive fondant was overcooked and not molten and the cheesecake was completely frozen in the centre. But hey at least they wrote happy birthday on the plate. They removed the the deserts of the bill cause they probably knew it was frozen but straight up still served it to us lol. In conclusion just go over to mugg and bean opposite the store and eat a fresh cheesecake that's probably also reasonably priced.

Great service and great quality food with a relaxing vibe

A bit concerned about the screening (COVID) process when visiting this establishment. We were a party of four and i was the only one screened. I also noticed that other guest were not screened when entering. HUGE risk. The steak was excellent but the plate was unattractive.

I enjoyed an inexpensive lunch at Balducci recently where the atmosphere was chic and upmarket, without being pretentious. The menu has a huge choice (almost too big) and wine selection was comprehensive and representative of South Africa. I enjoyed a Poke Bowl of light rice, tune and salad which was delicious. My guest had a pizza which was well above average! Make sure you get a table with a view, and with the professional and friendly service you wont want to leave the restaurant. One of the best restaurants at the Waterfront.RESTUARANT CLOSED!!!!!!!!!!!

This restuarant does not follow covid regulations. The tables are right on top of each other. They squash as many people as possible in and there is no social distancing. The waiters kept bumping into clients. The food was average. And you can not share pizza. Will not ever eat here again. The second covid wave will probably start here.

They didn't fix the covid screening process from 2 weeks ago I see someone else mentioned (only 1 person got screened of the party). Overall the quality standard dropped.
