Restaurant is absolutely stunning and staff were amazing. Good food and great wine. Courtyard unfortunately gets quite hot and noisy when full but otherwise was really lovely.

Great venue to enjoy a relaxing meal in a beautiful venue. The outside tables are great with spacious surrounds of lawns with oak trees. I hadn't been to jonkershuis since the original owners had it many years ago. Was pleased to see that they have a good number of vegan choices. The food quality and presentation is excellent, although prices are definitely aimed at the foreigners. The staff were great too. Highly recommend.

As a solo traveller, I often enjoy good table service and a warm reception at bistros in Cape Town. However, on this occasion, my first visit, I was coldly and contemptuously shown to my table by the maitre’d. This was particularly appalling since I came for a meal during a quiet time (mid-morning on a weekday). The unpleasant reception put a damper on an otherwise tasty meal and polite table service by the waiter. For a prestigious establishment, it goes without saying that every guest should be treated with the same courtesy.

An eclectic menu with something for everyone's taste. We chose to be seated outside. However, it became chilly - no problem, throws we supplied by the restaurant - nice touch. We ordered pasta, steak, kingklip, and grilled hake - everyone enjoyed their meal that was beautifully presented My sirloin was very sinewy - the maitre D compensated with a delcious dessert wine for all. I was a wee bit disappointed - that said, it was grilled to perfection. I'm of the opinion that the Cape Malay cuisine is a wee bit overpriced (this goes for certain other menu items as well). The vista's from our table was beautiful, and the service was excellent I recommend a visit but be prepared to spend at this beautiful and historic wine farm.

The setting is absolutely beautiful!!! And the staff were friendly and helpful. The food looked amazing, but the bacon was hard, and the rest of the meal was something I could have made at home for half the price-with better taste. Overall, nothing that will really draw me back here again. I'd rather just take a walk around the gardens and have my own breakfast.

A wonderful place to have breakfast. A nice variety on the menu and beautiful seating options both in and outside. I would thoroughly recommend the eggs Benedict, it was truly delicious and perfectly served. The service is courteous and professional and always prompt - a truly awesome spot!

A really superb Christmas picnic, comfortable set up and wonderful service. All picnic items were presented and packaged. The spiced butter and the chocolate nemesis were really amazing. Recommended eat out👌🏽

There is more space inside then we imagined and we got a table on a busy day without waiting. Food prepared with love! You can taste it. Definitely recommend this stop for a lunch at a winery. They seem to have everything.

Picked your restaurant to introduce friends from overseas to some Cape Malay cuisine a few weeks ago. Your bobotie was divine. Pork belly is one of the best I've tried in the neighborhood. I got the tasting platter with hot bowls of chicken and lamb curry, which were really good! Also a nice intro for one of my guests to the South African fave red wine - pinotage. Overall, a really excellent dining experience! Thank you 💯❤Just my 2 cents to the management on the tray boards - the hot bowl of chicken curry slid off the board and it partly spilled onto my guest's pants before dropping to the floor. Quite a mess. It was replaced promptly and two waiters apologised profusely. But maybe those wooden boards should rather be put on the table then waiters bring the hot plates/tubs on a tray. The boards have no borders and have no grip to keep those hot bowls from sliding off. I hate to waste good food that way. But I am more concerned a guest could be hurt or burned quite badly if the hot bowls dropped onto him/her entirely. That or redesign the boards to prevent accidents. Something to think about.

Honestly a little disappointed by our most recent visit to jonkershuis. While the views are spectacular, sadly the experience isn't currently what it used to be and there appears to be some oversight by the staff at present. I'll start off with the central aspect of dining out, the cuisine... We opted for 2 portions of the pork belly, a babotie and the vegetarian burger. The pork belly was expertly cooked and was deliciously succulent but this was largely undone as it was overwhelmed by a sauce that appeared to have reduced for far too long resulting in something that completely overpowered the subtlety of the veg and detracted from the pork entirely. The babotie was delicious and I have no objections to the flavour but rather to the lack of ease of eating out of 2 large bowls without being provided with a spoon or plate to dish the food on to... don't get me wrong, from a presentation standpoint it looks great but sadly is rather impractical. Can't comment too much on the vegetarian option as I didn't get the chance to try it but it did appear to be enjoyed by our guest. Service overall was decent, but not quite as attentive as we have had here in the past (understandably the result of them being busy). Sadly we couldn't get our entertainer app to work (putting this one on them rather than on jonkershuis though) However, one of the bigger letdowns was the fact that the table was sticky and felt like it hadn't been cleaned all day which is just unacceptable in the times of covid and really should have been a priority. Still a beautiful location but it currently doesn't live up to the wonderful experience of previous visits...

Front staff (two ladies and a man) were incredibly aggressive. When we asked for the table to be wiped they said “wiping it won’t make a difference” and muttered more about not doing it when I said please just wipe it because it’s dusty. Very rude people.

Beautiful place for us to have lunch and take out our two dogs with us. It is a dog friendly place. Beautiful views and relaxing atmosphere. It also seems to be a place that children enjoy with lots of lawn space to play and run around. Dogs have to be on leash. Also very good wine to taste and buy🍷

Yes, just yes! You won't be disappointed or hungry after a lunch/dinner date here. Set amidst the rolling vineyards of Groot Constantia and located in an historical Cape Dutch building, dating to the 17th century. They offer a set menu as well as seasonal specials catering for everyone's taste. Service is fast, friendly and professional and there's no need to dress to the nines. To top things off, enjoy the spectacular views of False Bay.

We had an absolutely incredible celebration at Jonkershuis! The food is fantastic, wine is brilliant (obviously), our guests were so well taken care of and we had an easy relaxing planning exerience. Beautiful experience from beginning to end! Could not thank the Jhuis team enough.

A wonderful wonderful serendipity! Driving back to Camps Bay from Cape Point we used Google Maps to search for a restaurant "along the route.". We picked this one because it was in the valley and was well rated! Maps misled us at first but we persisted. The grounds were spectacular, the interior classic winery buildings, the fireplace perfect for our wintry evening, the service excellent (he kept checking back with us!), and the ricotta ravioli and roast chicken entrees BOTH were wonderful!

A beautiful setting in the Groot Constantia wine farm. We had dinner. It is our summer but it was a chilly evening and they had the fire going which was great. Food was excellent. Great service. Mussel starter was delicious. I enjoyed the pork belly. The sirloin was so good. All the dishes were good and the portion sizes generous. Highly recommended.

On one of South Africa's most iconic wine estates, Groot Constantia, you will find the Jonkershuis restaurant. After finishing up with a wine tasting we decided to grab lunch which we really enjoyed. The food was very tasty, the prices were in-line with other restaurants in the area and the waiter was very friendly. Although they do have inside seating, we decided to sit outside as it was a beautiful day. From the outside seating area you have a great view of the expansive lawn (where the kids can run around and play), big oak trees and in the distance even False Bay. When visiting the Constantia area, the Jonkershuis restaurant is a definite must-visit if you are wanting to grab something to eat.

If you're visiting the Groot Constantia wine estate, chances are that you will have lunch in one of its two restaurants. I had mine on the front terrace of Jonkershuis Constantia. The setting is beautiful with great views of the vineyards that extend all the way to Cape Town and the ocean. The food is well prepared and, for many of its dishes, has a strong Malayan influence, but without the spices being overwhelming.

Each dish was beautifully presented and tasted really good. We were quite a large party of 24 and everyone complemented the food. Best cheesecake! Portions were also great. Drinks were great and the servers were so attentive and helpful. The surroundings were beautiful and well kept... fantastic atmosphere which is perfect for adults while being kid and dog friendly. Well worth a visit.

Beautiful scenery. Excellent service. Great, overpriced breakfast. The did not serve coffee that day, which was disappointing to my friends. Busy, booking is essential. Seems to be a favourite local hotspot.

The service is exceptional, friendly and efficient. The food came really quickly. There is a super menu of non-alcoholic wines, beers and cocktails - best I've ever seen. Of course the location is spectacular with everyone sitting under the huge beautiful oaks or umbrellas. On the negative side our two meals, pork belly, and Chicken Caesar's salad were flawed; perhaps due to the accent on sweet South African currie dishes.

Disappointing experience... We arrived just before 11.30 and were told to order as we had 2 minutes before breakfast orders close. We got posted to the gravelly netherlands with a stark view. The waiter says breakfast is closed but we can only order lunch at 12pm. We decided to wait and ordered milkshakes.. After a 20 min wait, a mediocre shake in a glass my grandson says looks like a Wimpy glass... We left immediately after and enjoyed a lunch elsewhere in the area... Most unfortunate as I've had great food there previously👎

This is one exceptional restaurant with a great breakfast and lunch/dinner menus. Quite honestly a well thought out menu with varied not too many over kill options but enough for all customers. The vegan options are particularly great too. However the menu with great starters to the main and desert is mind blowing good. The food is a culinary delight with great taste and for sure the ambience is amazing. Good service, friendly staff and of course great wine choices. Expect to pay about $17 upward per person for a great experience. Highly recommended this place.

Valentines breakfast at Jonkers Huis. Groot Constantia. Amazing service thank you Stuart! Terrible food. Cold scrambled eggs (4 of us). Greasy, congealed. Mediocre coffee. Supposed to be launch of a new menu today, thought kitchen may have been a bit more on the ball! Venue was my choice. Embarrassed for our guests.

One of my favourite restaurants due the view, service, food and vibe. I just wish they would review their coffee. Filter coffee is extremely bitter. Espresso, Cappucino, Americano is undrinkably acidic. Not sure if its the barista or the roaster that is the problem.

What a lovely setting! I love visiting Jonkershuis. My wife had the vegan (beyond) burger which was served with fat fries. She was quite happy with her meal, although a side salad may have topped it off perfectly. My mushroom and pancetta pasta with spaghetti was fine. I was torn between the pasta and the sirloin steak; I should have had the steak. Our favorites on the menu are the Cape Malay selections. The babotie is fantastic and my wife just loves the Cape Malay curry. Service, as usual, was good and friendly. We'll be back for the Cape Malay offerings and, hopefully, some of the Groot Constantia wine.
