Spent most of Sundays here in the 80's as a child riding Bike around the Vlei and braais with my Dad, lovely to see when revisited almost 40 yrs later this place is preserved as I remember and lots of serenity with certain areas demarcated with braai spots

The boat ride offered at the zeekoevlei market was an absolute treat. The guide/skipper knowledgeable and the trip on the vlei amazing. Will definitely support again and again

Picnic spot next to zeekoevlei lake. Recently upgraded with toilet à Braai facilities. Entry is free! tranquil peaceful. Was once surrounded by first like yes and was never fully utilise. Mainly due to security reasons. Nowadays its been cleared of most trees with a newly developed housing scheme. One can't swim there's but still a Great picnic spot. Just be cautious as its very secluded

Fun fact,: there actually aren't any Hippos here :(

Tranquility. Safety. It's just like been on an Island... No one knocking an your door at all hours.. It's peaceful!

Went paddling with Paddle Experience. Some good bird watching but tons of litter in the vlei.

Once one of the most beautiful reserves to visit but in the last few years its became a delapidated hive for thieves and no attempts has been made to upgrade or better the place,really not a place anyone enjoys to visit anymore

The view is beautiful its a nice recreational area for water sports and fishing, running, cycling, picnick area, Fynbos Nature, Bird watching. Currently ecoli levels are bit high in the water so catching fish and doing water sports are bit of a risk. The local authority is working on the situation.

Hippos roam free stay clear.

Went here twice. Tried fishing both attempts couldn’t catch anything. Park officials came and told us that the fish in here is contaminated due to chemicals dumped on this river.

What a place to visit for free. Braai on the banks of the vlei... really just around the corner from home. Pity Rangers allow drinking yet the board says drinking not allowed.
