This was a great place. Nice and clean, green and lush. The braai area is not too bad either. Bathroom facilities were quite clean for a general public toilet. Not much to do for kids as there are no swings or play equipment. Best to bring some toys to keep them busy. Beautiful views all around with the mountain on one side and the vlei on the other and it seems very safe. When we arrived at around 11am it wasn't all that busy but the shade areas under the trees where taken up so best to come a bit early to secure a spot of your choice. Got a bit busier later in. Also, it gets very windy so be prepared for that as well. All in all, a great place. Will definitely go back

Perfect for that outdoor experience with the family, whether you fancy a braai or picnic or just a fun walk around the lake. The playground facilities could do with a major upgrade as well as more braai areas.

The river is next to it, and there are facilities and public restrooms for children to play with. you can do a brie. It's good to have a picnic with your family.

Good braai spots for day campers.Nice open places for the children. A very big downer is .. on Heritage Day when everyone wants to braai , we were not allowed to park at the second parking area ! A major incoveniance, because we had to park at one place , and carry everything to the braai area. Someone should look into this !

Great place to have a picnic with your family and friends and it's kid friendly it's an open field where kids can play and it's strictly no alcohol so the kids are safe

Very nice for family outings if the weather allows...very little shade and only one toilet block...good security on busy days. All together a pleasant braai/ picnic experience

Place ok and very safe.however, the grass needs to be trimmed and there should be at least some taps at places to drink water. Toilets are clean but poor ventilation. Needs more litter bins. Not small ones.

Great 👍 for dog walking when not too busy - like Women's Day and Sunny Weekends when plastic, bottles, sweet wrappers etc strewn everywhere despite plenty of bins provided!

Had a church activity day braai spots to few they can really revamp that into a boating slot recreational park charge a fee to enter Other wise it is a peaceful spot. Beautiful day

We enjoyed a great family outing, however, the strong winds stole the show.I would suggest that you rather pay & enjoy the inside area which offers more protection from the wind.

Great open area next to Zandvlei Lagoon for braai and recreation. But the public toilets were locked.

This is Cape Town at its best. It's perfect in the mornings before 12. Tends to get busier in the afternoon. Also best in Spring when it's still cool and the lawn is green.

We enjoyed our outing. I'm not sure what the routine is for keeping the grass cut but the grass needs a huge cut. A great space nonetheless.

Zandvlei has a variety of activities to offer for a family to enjoy on a day outing , with a braai area and stunning views of the surrounding mountains and the beautiful estuary. Only iissue that spoils it is the dogs off their leashes that have on occasion charged children running around playing and have attacked other dogs and have killed ducks and other wildlife at the vlei. The owners of these dogs are not concerned at all. If a child is seriously injured or killed by a dog is the Zandvlei estuary management not then reasonably as they allow dogs to be off their leaches?.

I loved my visit there, even though It was in a working capacity I was there prior with my wife and we had a beautiful time there...the scene is just tranquil and peaceful and it stimulates your mind alot all in all beautiful and safe place to be
