The Pipetrack is an easy hike / trail run that's populated on weekends with families, trail runners and dog owners. If you are keen to work up a sweat, there are about 3 or 4 routes up to Table Mountain from the Pipetrack. Kasteelpoort is probably the most popular. I enjoy Wood Ravine which is found almost at the very end of the Pipetrack. Woody Ravine takes you to the Diving Board. The pipetrack during summer remains mostly in the shade until about 10am. An easy stroll takes us about an hour and 15min to the end of the track.

You’ll need good shoes, but it’s a fairly chilled walk. You don’t need to be super fit or anything. Beautiful views.

The trail is well kept and there are usually a couple of people on it, which makes it feel pretty safe. The accessibility is also a big plus, with parking right at the begging, and no doesn’t roads getting to the parking it makes it easy to recommend to most for a short afternoon walk. For the most part it is nearly flat with no really big inclines or declines which make it easy for almost anyone to enjoy. The views of Camps Bay and Lion’s head are fantastic. It’s also quite western-facing which makes it ideal for watching the sun set.

The Pipe Trail offers stunning views of Camps Bay, Clifton, Maiden's Beach, and of course, Table Mountain itself. The trail is an easy walk, but it can be dangerous in some areas, so it's important to wear appropriate footwear and be extra cautious if you're bringing kids along. While there are no toilets or water sources along the way, the scenery is worth the trek. You'll encounter a variety of plants along the trail, and there are some interesting landmarks to look out for. If you're up for a more challenging hike, you can reach the point where there is a sign-post showing you which direction to take. This part of the trail is suitable for seasoned hikers, but may be difficult for non-hikers. It can take up to 3 hours to complete the hike, depending on your fitness level. Overall, the Pipe Trail is a must-see for anyone visiting Table Mountain National Park. Just make sure to wear comfortable shoes and be extra careful in areas that may be dangerous. The starting point can be found at the road to TM, and the walk takes about 2 hours at a normal pace, including time for pictures and taking in the views

This is a very nice trail to walk. Not a lot of uphill at the beginning. Nice views along the way. Plenty of stones to walk over so wear comfortable non slip shoes. Some narrow roads. You will enjoying walking this trail.

One of the most popular beginner hiking tracks around Cape Town so an early start is recommended if you dont want to meet lots of hikers and runners. Great views of Camps Bay side. Not my favourite though because the track is rocky underfoot most of the way. Where the fork splits I recommend taking the upper path. It actually isn't more difficult than the lower one, and the views are more spectacular.

Best of everything with this hike. Easy and safe parking can be found at the beginning of the track. Easy to medium track, depending on fitness levels, with scenic views of Table Mountain, The 12 Apostles, Camps Bay and Lions head. Depending on the time of the day, you can combine it with a great sunset.

Amazing walk. This is the best trail for beginners or people who may not be able to climb steep paths, but still enjoy the beauty of walks around table mountain. It's relatively flat, but not circular. So you need to calculate your time and return the same way. There is an exit on the other side in camps bay but it's a long walk. There are multiple paths leading up to the top of table mountain which start here. Be careful after rains, as the path is muddy and gets slippery. Also to note that the path is extremely narrow at some points. The pipe track follows an old iron pipe which used to supply water to cape town once upon a time. That pipe still carries water but not sure of the purpose.

A good, interesting hike, a little more than a walk in the park. Really fun with good views. A few inclines but nothing too hectic.

It's an easy walk with a lovely view of Camps Bay, Lion's Head, and you'll see a fair amount of pipes along the way. There isn't a lot of shade so bring a hat and wear sunscreen. The path is rarely busy so you'll be avoiding the crowds that you'll find on the more popular spots.

One awesome hiking trail...good for beginners and for dog-runners. A picturesque view of camp bay and the beach. There is different off trail such as diagonal cave, kasteelspoort and so on. Those who like to take pictures...there are good flora and fauna. Beautiful plant. Trail runner use this trail for training for marathon, comrades and road runner. You will never be dissappointed.

Amazing path all along the edge of the mountain on the Camps Bay side. Not too strenuous and not dangerous at all insofar as ledges and cliffs and exposures are concerned. Many people walk their dogs along this path. Some runners also likes this route, and of course plenty of hikers. It is however advisable to be in a group even though I've never came across anyone with ill intent along this trail, it is just safer when you have numbers on your side.

All hikes are magical in Cape Town. This is an easy walk with beautiful views of Camps Bay down below. Perfect or kids and your 4 legged furry friends. Start from kloof corner and walk to the right. Trail easy to follow.

The Glenn starts here. It's sketchy, knarly and loose. Gotta love it. Bring your bike and bravery and you'll have a good time

Best to go early in the morning as the mountain provides valuable shade. First section from kloof nek parking lot can be a bit tough on the legs due to a bit of a climb on rocky ground. Thereafter fairly flat and good for dogs. Great views at all times and one or two spots you can stop under a pine tree to take in the views. Avoid during summer south Easter days.
