One of my favorite hikes in Cape Town. Its an easy 3 hour round trail hike [at a leisurely pace] Pet friendly, a few people with their dogs will be on the trail as well as more trail runners. Best views of Houtbay and the ocean. In springtime the path is very narrow due to the overgrown fynbos. But it is absolutely beautiful with a wide variety of flowers. It starts of with a few steps, not at all hard, and winds up the mountain making it super easy, there is a split on the left side of this trail where you can do sky ledge or right-side to blackburn cove. You can start from left and go clockwise on this trail or from right, my recommendation would definitely be to do it clockwise as the right hand side is more of a climb and by the waterfall so I find it easier to climb down there than to start my hike off with a steep climb. Also a short ladder on the right side.

Beautiful view and even better sunset. No better way to see Hout Bay than a hike up there. Please take someone with you and be vigilant (Nothing has happened to me but I have heard stories of muggings)

Some of the best hikes in the world are in Cape Town. And Chapmans peak is in my top 10. Waterfalls, dynamic flora and views that take your breathe away.

Now that was one hell of hike! A little steep at first but it’s well worth it. Get to the midpoint or to the top, you won’t be disappointed

Beautiful hike with breathtaking views of the Sentinel and Hout Bay. When done at sunset, you will experience one of the most amazing views of the sun setting over the ocean. Just be sure to check the weather before going, as the wind can push really hard over those mountains sometimes.

How does someone even rate a hike.... How does nature not deserve 5 stars every time...?! Anyhoo, we did this hike. Be warned, it will be tough for a novice, and has intermediate technicality, occasionally needing hands for support up, - and a lot if you go down the mountain on Noordhoek side. I wore shorts, and frequently got my legs 'prickled'. Use it, don't use it. Don't try go down the mountain on the Noordhoek side unless you are bold. The trail is less-trodden. We lost it twice coming down. Some narrow paths with distinct vertigo calling ;-). My health app clocked q 450m ascent, and 12,000 steps from the base, over the mountain, and to the road on Noordhoek side. The path comes out practically at the step-path that leads down to Monkey Valley resort. Take water and a light jacket.

Middle of the month money problems ? This is FREE !! Breathtaking, beautiful views, fresh wind blowing up the side of the mountain. The smell of the ocean and the view helps. Need a break? Take a walk, bike ride or need to breath in the sea or mountain views this is the place to be at.

Beautiful view, absolutely breathtaking. But definitely not to be taken lightly, as it is not a moderate walk, and would recommend for more advanced walkers. For example, we were 3 fit young men and managed to complete the hike in just over 4hours with 1 small break at the top.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Hiked the mountain to go see this peak. Make sure to bring cash as there is no network, electricity or card terminals nearby. The peak is extremely breathtaking. This is one of the easiest hikes you'll probably ever climb in Cape Town. I saw so many family members going up with their toddlers. And...
