Stunning views and a level of service I'm not used to in many restaurants. The fish and chips were delicious and I look forward to my next visit.

I've been twice at the restaurant and the food is AMAZING. 4 stars for the amazing seafood and 1 star for the staff's attitude. I truly believe that 90% of the staff needs a attitude makeover. Training about customer service, especially the hostess. But overall well done to those prawns !

Had a hankering for seafood and was impressed with the Linefish (Cardinal) which was divine & the grilled calamari & prawns was mouthwateringly delicious. Was a good choice with salad as the side. The cocktails are a bit bland, but the food & view more than made up for it. Well worth a visit to the mini Simonstown harbour. Also some fun canoeing & SUP outings on offer.

The Prawns and Calamari are among the best I've had! Very professional and friendly service. From the welcome at the door to the goodbye as we left, we felt welcomed. Plenty of tables right by the water on a Saturday afternoon which made for a great atmosphere for dinner. Food was excellent. We got the seafood pasta and Bertha's combo (hake, calamari, prawns, mussels). The flavors were top notch and the prawns I think were the best part, but all was great. The only reason I knocked off a star is because our server brought me the wrong drink and then served the pasta with penne although we asked for linguine. Other than that, great experience!

Amazing food,but the waiters should be more attentive. Like my food came without tartar sauce. When we got the bill and we wanted to pay it took quite long for someone to come to our table. Other than that it's a great place.

Friendly service and brilliant value for money. Enjoyable breakfast offerings and delicious lunches to choose from! Bertha's is a real gem. I'm happy to recommend them unreservedly.

It is located on the shores of False Bay, on the eastern side of the Cape Peninsula. For more than two centuries it has been a naval base and harbour.

The chips are not crispy, the mussels are not good, but the bread is ok. The only thing good was the oysters and the shrimps. Nothing can go wrong with this. I'm very disappointed with this lunch. But the location at the harbor is nice.

Overall the food was great. Pensioner menu excellent value. Service was great but very waiter dependent. Atmosphere a little noisy and a very busy, popular space Tour groups frequently visit

Friendly services, food very good but was disappointed by the utensils that was not cleaned properly, milk jug had two brown rings on the inside, the toilets were not in a very good state. The cleaning personnel need to be jacked up.

Really good food. We were 8 adults and 5 kids and everyone enjoyed their meals and the service was excellent.

We had breakfast on this occasion but I have eaten there on a number of occasions over the past year and have been reluctant to post a less than favourable review. Service is shoddy and food very mediocre. Place is relying on its location and setting to get by.

Such a beautiful setting. The food was great. Unfortunately the service was absolutely pathetic! Most people in the restaurant was unhappy with the service. And the place wasn't even busy.

We really enjoyed visiting Bertha's Restuarant in Simon Town.Berthas is situated on the harbour with a beautiful view overlooking the boats that are docked. The food was really delicious- we had fish and chips and a salad. Ashley, our waiter, was very friendly and gave us excellent service. The Manageress was very friendly as well. I mention this as I saw previous comments regarding the staff and as a foodie who does a lot of reviews, service is really important to me. The dessert looked delicious as well, but we will come back to try it at a later stage. Definitely worth a visit!

Great location but I wasn't wowed by the freshness of the salad or the oysters.

The food was excellent and the view is spectacular. Only thing i would reccomend is getting more waiters/staff, as we felt a bit neglected. But we could see they trying their best to attend to all the customers.

Very pleasant as the weather was fantastic. Outside seating was amazing, although the food was good, it was nothing to rave about. The chips were dry and unpalatable.

Nestled in the heart of the harbour, you’ll find Bertha’s. A quaint atmosphere awaits inside of the restaurant, the staff are friendly and efficient, we didn’t have to wait at all before being helped. The food came relatively quickly. The Fully Loaded Burger: Juicy patty with the perfect basting, and all of the elements just complimented each other perfectly. It’s massive too, so I recommend starving yourself before taking on this beast. 1/2kg Prawns: Fresh, juicy and perfectly seasoned 200g Sirloin: Juicy. Melted in your mouth, just absolutely perfect. Hake & Calamari Platter: They absolutely nailed it! The seasoning was perfect, the fish was fresh. The Calamari’s batter was the perfect ratio. I’d definitely recommend trying Bertha’s. Their prices are actually really good as well!

Very pretty view, ideally located but there is also plenty of room for improvement. There was litter on the floor which several waiters walked pass without picking up. I also waited a long time before someone came to take my order. The food was well priced and the menu had great variety:m. the food was okay, satisfactory, nothing to write home about. the rice was cold and there is nothing worse than cold rice.

Beautiful location but average food. Expected it to be like pub grub and it was. So. Can't really complain. And the food is decent. Just don't expect fine dining and enjoy the view and the drinks and you will not be disappointed

I ordered 2 beers and it cost me R120. They were standard local beers made in cape Town. I want impressed. That being said. The staff seemed incredibly friendly and were very willing to help out. They were also being jovial with one another and made the atmosphere seem very pleasant.

The food was a bit underwhelming when we visited. The service was a slow as well, even though they didn't appear to be very busy. We ordered seafood platters but were not impressed by the quality or quantity of these platters.

Would have given a one but the location is world class. Ordered a seafood pasta. A little of everything right? Pasta itself was terrible. As in cheap bottom shelf stuff bought in bulk. A step down from pick n pay "no name" brand. Sauce was non existent. Dry as a bone. Two tiny muscles and two tiny prawns neatly put on top. Prawn was 95% head legs and tail with the smallest sliver of meat. The hake was a tiny matchbox cube covered in hard scales and full of bones. Sent me coughing for 15 minutes. Wife had a fantastic steak by the way. Really decent. So maybe avoid sea food in this sea food restaurant?

1kg Prawns anyone... the best I've had at a reasonable price, hot & fresh, definitely the star of the show. Go adventure...worth it!
