    Not sure if all Browns jewelry stores are as useless as this one. Browns have this amazing price matching policy, but don't be fooled...they can't deliver on this deal. I came here to get a better deal but all they did was waste my time by asking millions of questions over a two day peroid only to conclude that they can't match my quote. They then went on to try and sell me a far less superior quality and size diamond at 1.5 times the price - way above the price range I requested. Also, apparently they don't put their "name" on diamonds with fluorescence - a factor that should be the choice of the customer. Be sure, I'd never recommend Browns to anyone, peroid!

    I have had the worst experience with this store and Browns Head Office. I would suggest that you do not use them for your special occasion if you are looking for quality, honesty and a seamless experience with a store that can deliver on time. They continuously make up stories for their mistake or failure to comprehend simple basic English. The sales lady Thuli from the store sold me a ring and assured me that they are able to customize any design and it would take 10 business days to complete. After 10 working days, she did not contact me. I went to store on my own and the ring was actually delivered to the store the previous day. The ring was the same standard ring as the one I viewed and it was not customized to my specifications(width band 1.9mm). They looked at the collection order and they confirmed its incorrect and just apologized and said they will get back to me. I sent several emails confirming the specifications and they confirmed that they understood what was required and the workshop is aware of this order and they will definitely be able to customize the ring. I gave them another chance to correct their mistake and they asked me to wait another 10 working days again. Instead of prioritizing this order, they seemed to have a don't care attitude and made we wait the normal turn around time. After 10 working days the ring was not ready for collection. They sent me a picture of the ring from head office and it was now customized but with the incorrect specifications(width band 1.67mm) The band was way thinner than it should be. I gave them 5 weeks and they are unable to customize a ring but they will tell you anything you want to hear just to make a sale. If you're planning for a special day please don't wait on their promise as they are extremely incompetent. Update: I don't think your response actually states what happened. I had to go to store to get a refund when i realized how incompetent Browns was in following instructions. You were under the impression that you actually had the width correct as you sent me a picture with a caliper attached to the ring confirming that you have my ring ready with the correct width. I requested a width of 1.9mm and you made up the width to be 1.67. This was due to the fact that your collection order form stated it to be 1.8mm which was incorrect and even after I asked you several times to correct, you assured me that you have noted my requirement. I have asked several jewelers since if its possible to customize a band to a certain width and they have all assured me that it is a simple task. My current band was also customized with ease. This was clearly a miscommunication that occurred between you and the craftsman due to the incorrect collection order form that Browns created when duplicating the collection order in order to make a new ring after your first failed attempt. You wasted over a month of my time so please stop making up anymore excuses for Browns being at incompetent jeweler and store.

    First of all, 1 star is too much. The service we received today, (14 January 2023) was absolutely terrible! We got to the entrance and a white lady let us in. She did not even greet. She just looked at us and said they cannot assist us with what we were looking for after we asked. She said it would be better to stick with the jewellery store we were already dealing with. After we left, I went back to the store to ask for her name and she refused to give me her name. When I asked for the manager, she said they do not have a manager at the store. When I said I’ll call the head office, she gave me a very snarky comment and said “You do that”. She is extremely rude and has a terrible attitude! We decided to go spend our money elsewhere and would not recommend this store ever. Blatant profiling of people by looking at our appearance and assuming we could not afford what they have in the store. Disgusting!

    Bought all my wife's rings (engagement and wedding band) from this store. The staff a very friendly and always attentive to your needs. After reading the earlier reviews I am concerned to see how people can lambaste a store when they don't understand the market of diamonds and the 4 C's. Their investment program is hugely successful and if you're not willing to spend that extra bit of money on a loved one with the guarantee of being able to upgrade at a later stage, then I'd think you'd need to reevaluate your priorities. Brown's is the only jewelry store I'd support in terms of size, scale and buying power. If you're in the market for an engagement ring, wedding band or just a special gift for a loved one the Brown's is your place. Great variety and exceptional staff. Design and beauty of their jewelry is unmatched.

    Not very helpful and actually quite rude. My family and I have been customers for almost 10 years and I have never experienced such indifference towards customers. My husband and I drove 2 hours from the farm and we may not have looked as grand as the other people in Canal Walk but still I don't think that gives the person the right to make us wait outside for 20 minutes and walk up to the gate and ask us what we want. If that is their attitude then I would rather spend my R50k at Sterns or one of the unique jewelers in Cape Town like Meraki Jewelry Design.

    I felt judged by my skin colour and how I was dressed. To be served from behind the security gates is really pathetic, unacceptable and embarrassing. We've since chosen a different jeweler! Don't waste your time guys.

    1 star is way too much for this store. Pathetic service that tends to lean towards the racial profiling spectrum. This has happened on a few occasions. Not interested in this brand, won't ever buy my wedding band there and won't recommend to any of my friends, family, colleagues or network. SHIMANSKY on the other hand has been amazing and treat people with respect!

    I had a truly disappointing experience with Browns when purchasing my engagement ring. At the time of purchase, I was promised a free resizing within 2-3 weeks. However, when I returned the ring post-engagement, it turned into a nightmare. For a whole month, they couldn't locate my ring or provide any feedback. When they finally found it, I was told it couldn't be resized as much as needed, which seemed like a basic oversight on their part. They then promised to remake the ring but couldn't even source a new diamond, opting to use the old one. When I finally received the ring after a long wait (2months after the engagement), it was made incorrectly. The lack of communication and professionalism throughout this ordeal has been absolutely shocking. The representative dealing with the situation seems to be giving her best but there are a lack of systems, accountability and urgency. This should have been a joyous experience, but Browns turned it into a nightmare.     Pathetic service. Absolutely NO after service provided. Firstly the diamond in my ring broke in half and I was told it was negligence so we had to claim from my insurance to remake another ring (so much for life time warranty). Anyways after months I finally received my new ring but the ring was not made as instructed. They remade the ring again but this time the size was incorrect (bit to small) and the engraving was not done. At this time I've been without a ring for 8 months and did not want to send the ring back again. The assistant said that I can bring the ring back for resizing and engraving free of charge before I get married. He said i didn't need any documents, the details will be on the system and I will not be charged. He also mentioned that I can bring it in a week or 2 before the wedding. I took my ring in tonight 3 September, my wedding is on 24 September. I'm now told that I will have to pay for the engraving and the sizing and if I want it back in time I have to pay a extra R2500 to book it in as urgent. They contacted the regional manager, and she said unfortunately I will just have to pay. At Browns you pay ridiculous prices because the items are supposed to be good quality, the experience should be the best and the after service should be excellent. I have not experienced any of this.

    Impressed with the Canal Walk branch and overall service. I would give 5 stars but I really think the Whatsapp business account should be managed better. I am an overseas customer so arranging my purchase this way would have been a lot easier if the account was managed better. I still managed to arrange the purchase through Whatsapp but it just took some time. Also, for some reason the first invoice I received through the Whatsapp business account had one of my items marked up R2000.00. Although this issue was promptly resolved, I find it strange to have existed in the first place :) In contrast, the Canal Walk branch staff really impressed me regarding the efficient manner in which they arranged my purchase for collection and corresponded with me. So yeah, I want that efficient service on the Whatsapp business account and no weird mistakes with my invoice for 5 stars. Otherwise, happy :))))

    The service was excellent, can't complain in that department, but I feel that me and my wifi to be was victimized becoz of our skin color, being that we were asked to remove our masks before entering the store and to look at camera, which was understande, but, a few minutes later a Caucasian couple with their kids walked in n non of the above was asked of them, which made us feel very uncomfortable, so we left n and spend our 50k at the sterns..

    Wonderful service from Thuli. Friendly, efficient, polite. Had to purchase at short notice for an overseas gift. Was well supported via calls/messages to get the item despite a public holiday delay. I'm not an enthusiastic jewellery buyer but this was a good experience. Happy to shop here again.

    I went in the shop few days ago, and they tried to overcharge me because I was paying by credit card. I suggest you to NOT waste your time there, it’s plenty of other much more serious jewelry shop in the area.

    Good quality but it's retail prices which are pretty high for what you get but if it's your first time and you not clued up on diamonds and rings then it's a pretty reliable option with after sales services like sizing and servicing of rings.
