    I wanted to buy a ring there and it was big but the guy at Canal walk encouraged me to buy it since it could be resized. I told him I will come back since it normally takes 2-5 days to resize, I then made a purchase. A week and a half later without wearing it I went to resize it and I was told that I have to pay an extra fee which was almost half the price I bought the ring. I was and still am disappointed and mad.

    I just recently got engaged you can imagine how excited I am. My fiancé bought a ring from American swiss and in a week the rock of the ring started getting misty. We went back to the store and they tried to blame me for me. Telling me that I used jik when I didn't even want wash any dishes because I was obsessed with making sure it's still perfect. It's was a week after all. (Mind you they didn't even inform my fiancé on what to do or not to do when it comes to rings). They also told him that it's not real diamond and something else, even though that was not what was advertised to him. Let me tell you that I decided to change for another ring and now one of the diamonds have fallen out. Again it's only been a week. Does this mean every week I will be changing rings?? I am traumatized and mortified. I'm going back tomorrow to get my money back. DO Not Buy rings from them. They are a scam.

    Absolute worst experience ever!!! How does a store allow a customer to wait nearly 30 minutes to be serviced. Festive casuals are being treated as if they don't work there, how does that make sense. Either change management or find a better way to deal with staff!!!!!!

    I bought a set of rings and watches from them on Saturday and was told to bring the rings back for resizing on Monday. I’ve just been told now that I need to pay >R1200 extra for this, on top of the R13k. This additional cost was never explained to me when purchasing the set. This is too shady for a business with a big name. I guess they don’t care about legacy anymore

    I have had countless bad experiences with American Swiss at most of their branches. A diamond in my wedding ring fell out, my ring also bends easily as it is pink gold. I was never advised how to properly care for my ring. I get told 2 years later that it is a special events ring and not a wedding ring although it is being advertised as an engagement ring on their website. I also added a band onto the ring and it was like rocket science for the staff to understand what I actually wanted. From being on the phone with 3 different people to the incompetent manager. The staff is super unfriendly as well. I got my rings back and I am happy but the customer service is atrocious.

    For many years I bought expensive jewelry for me and my wife. There are now not really any service. Last years I bought my with a ring and a necklace over R120000 . There was a sale . I ask the guy to get me earrings from Parow head office and till today newer foon me back . My wife gave earrings to prepare because we bought it there. Now they can't fix it. How can you buying staff and something you buy they can't fix. I definitely will look for a better jewelry. I finished with them and every month there is new personal. Thanks.

    Today I came in to get a ring for my husband. I am a woman of color. I greeted the attendant in English, and He greeted me back in Xhosa. I asked him to show me to the male rings in English and he answered me back in Xhosa. We speak French, Canadian citizens. I asked for a seat for my mother in law in English, and he proceeded to communicate with us in Xhosa. I did not appreciate the forced familiarity he wanted. All I wanted was to be professionally shown to the rings I wanted to see. After he realized we will not be answering him in the vernacular he felt I should be speaking he lost interest in serving us so we left.

    Well, a gold strip came off on the side of my wedding ring. We took it back to Canal Walk where we purchased it from and hoped to speak to the assistant that sold us the ring. We then were offered help from another assistant and the manager whom gave us very bad services. I mean, the manager of the shop is supposed to help the customer when it's not even the customer's fault.... So long story short, the assistant who sold us the ring then contacted us afterwards where he took over the handling of the ring. He amazed us with the way he went out of his way to get us the ring replaced because the repairs of the ring was way more than what the ring cost. We personally feel that Chumani Bonani must get a promotion to a manager's position because of the way he helps his customers and therefore, want to thank him for his great services from purchasing the ring to getting it replaced. Thank you for your services, you deserve to be promoted, Chumani.

    Poorest of service ever ! Supported this branch for years until last year. The Store Manager is never in the store to speak with. The sales consultants don't know what is going on at the best of times. Moved to Arthur Kaplan Sandton, they courier down my purchases and the outstanding professionalism and after sales service with each purchase is remarkable.

    Misrepresentation on delivery of rings, impacting wedding arrangements. When the sales person fully knew the purpose of the rings, that they were "stage" rings for the day and thag it was urgent. Fully committing to delivering the day before the wedding, yet causing absolute Havoc on the day before, expecting us to jump through hoops. I am reporting this. This branch needs to get it together.

    Smart watches were advertised in-store at buy one, get the other 50% off. Spent two hours going back and forth with the sales consultant because she was unaware of the details surrounding the product she was attempting to sell. Their advertising in the window, for example, states that the Volkano smart watch is water proof, when in fact, upon examining the packaging, the watch is only water resistant. Further, American Swiss only offers a one year warranty on a smart watch, when the packaging of the smart watch offers a three year warranty. Despite all of this, I went as far as attempting to purchase two watches, one at full price and the other at 50% off, only to get to the till, and be told that the promotion did not apply to the watches I wanted to purchase. Bare in mind, that there was a huge sign in the window where the watches are displayed, saying they are on promotion and, I double checked with the sales consultant, who checked with the manager, who confirmed that the promotion applied to all of the watches. I then informed the manager that this was false advertising, and she agreed, but did not offer to do anything about it, or even go as far as apologising for the inconvenience. When typically, if a store advertises a product at a certain price, and it turns out not to be the case, they are supposed to give it to you at the advertised price. As a side note - the boxes the watches came in were dirty, and beat up, which is ridiculous considering how expensive the watches are. We left and went to Sterns, who is also part of the TFG group, and had a sale on their watches as well. There was no problem with the promotion, and they informed us that there is a three year warranty on the watch. The boxes were brand new, and the service was incredible. WILL NEVER GO BACK TO AMERICAN SWISS. They aren't what they used to be. Not worth it.

    Bought a ring as a gift and was told there would be no charge for resizing and when I returned to pick up the ring I was charged a ridiculous amount. Put a very sour taste in my mouth. There was no mention of extra charges from any of the staff helping me even when I asked countless times. Ridiculous

    Took my 9 month old daughter to have her ears pierced today. Worst experience ever!! The sales consultants were extremely unprofessional and clearly had no idea what they were doing. They took almost 20 min just to mark the earlobes. They repeatedly kept hesitating every time they asked me to restrain my baby when they tried to pierce her ears, which over time made her really irritable and frustrated. In the middle of the process, one of the piercers went to help other customers, leaving us to wait, while my baby got more and more frustrated. There was no sense of urgency or professionalism. My daughter eventually started crying uncontrollably after restraining her for almost 45 minutes, and while I was trying to console her, another sales consultant proceeded to GRAB MY BABY OUT OF MY ARMS TO CONSOLE HER HERSELF. Clearly the employees at this branch have no clue how to work with kids or babies, and should not be allowed to pierce their ears.

    I was in the American Swiss Canal Walk store today to inquire about repairs of a necklace and a pair of earrings that I had purchased about a year back. I explained to the assistant that I had purchased it at the Cavendish store and he proceeded to ask me for the slip which I admitted that I do not have. It was however in the original box. The assistant continued to ask for the slip. I asked if it was possible to call the Cavendish store to check for my details which they would obviously have recorded. He made no effort to do so and just said that “there’s nothing he can do” and offered no alternative solution. I was not looking for a free fix, I was happy to pay what was required as I just wanted it fixed as I was well aware that the warranty has now expired. He displayed no customer service and I left dissatisfied. I worked in retail for many years and I can safely say that I did whatever was required to ensure that a customer got the help they needed even if that meant going over and above what was required. I am very disappointed. I will now have to find another place to do the repairs.

    Factually the most abysmal service I have ever received!! Bought a Fossil men's watch which broke in under 2 weeks. They refused to send it in under warranty. I fought. They eventually sent it in. 8 weeks later, heard nothing. Now phoned 11 times. Either put on hold, no pick up, or some sort of surly "OK, we will phone you back" ... Go anywhere but here. Anywhere!

    Very helpful and attentive staff. The minute you walk in they greet you and ask if you need assistance. I was looking for something specific which they unfortunately didn't have in stock. However, they showed me other options and checked which stores in Cape Town have it in stock. Caring towards their customers.

    Bad customer service they couldn't find my lay bye then it took them almost 30 mins to resize my one wotch that i had to request to be made to my size I'll never recommend this place because the staff make it feel like the customer is wrong, I'll never sit my foot in American Swiss in canal walk bad customer service I'll ratha go to Sterns
