The gym is managed by the Sports Science Institute. It is well-equipped and good value for money. Equipment is not state of the art, but there is sufficient variety and it is well maintained. Classes are varied and include yoga and boxing. Staff are friendly, helpful and well-trained. To try the gym without making a long-term commitment, one may purchase a booklet of ten vouchers that provide access to all facilities, classes and the pool. This is also a very cost effective solution for those who are occasional gym users, as vouchers do not expire. An added advantage is that, for most of Pinelands and Thornton, it is within walking distance, adding a pleasant warm up/cool down to your workout.

Great gym for workouts and swimming. It is well maintained, have quality staff and great workout options to chose from. I love the chilled out vibes which are missing from overcrowded VA's and PF's.

What I like about old mutual gym is that they allow you to buy a booklet that has 10 passes and then you can use it whenever and however you want. You can also sign up with them if you a more regular gym goer. It's clean, never over crowded and friendly staff. It has a 25m heated pool as well. Overall a real gem to have discovered

Great little gym, has all the equipment I need and is kept very clean. The staff is friendly, off peak pricing very reasonable and you get a free health assessment and workout program when signing up, which was really nice. Been going for over 1.5 years now and it's starting to show ;)

We had the best swim, the pool water is clean and the perfect temperature. The attendants are very helpful. 10/10 all round
