I visited this beach twice. The first day was quiet and had the whole beach to myself. Huge open beach, soft sand and small little waves. Great for long walks on the beach. The second time was on a weekend over school holidays, so there were hundreds of people. However due to the wide beach, there was still room too move and enjoy a walk. Water is quite cold. Even with the hot summer day, i wouldn't go on for a swim.

Whenever life gets too much and I need the beauty of nature then this is the beach I go to. The shore line is spectacular with clean white beaches and it’s just the perfect place to take a long stroll or to relax and watch the waves. It is a pet friendly beach and I have to say that the owners are very conscientious with their pets, so you don’t really witness dog fights. They also clean up after their dogs which is a good thing. This is the perfect place to just let loose and enjoy a Sunday afternoon πŸ‘Œ

This small but busy town is always a nice break away from the big city life. We often go for a sunset walk on this beach. The beach is always kept nice and clean. You can walk your dog or go for an ice cream right on the beach front. There are several coffee shops and restaurants over looking the ocean. There is more than enough parking spot available a long the beach so you can enjoy nature even on a busy day. This beach is perfect for that jog you have been needing to get in for the week due to it's equel level sand. This also means you can take granny for a walk with you and it won't be to difficult for her to keep up. Definitely a must visit area when doing your Cape town rounds.

Melkbosstrand Beach is a beautiful and clean location for swimming and other outdoor activities. It's quite a busy beach, especially on weekends so be prepared to share it with lots of people. It has three tidal pools, restaurants and lifeguards on duty. Be aware though that the water can be cold so you may need a wetsuit if you plan on going into the sea.

Always a wonderful experience with great views. Lots of eyes watching cars etc was was a bit unnerving and very little parking on offer, especially on a warm day. But it is a fantastic place to visit

What a fantastic dog and people friendly beach. A little bit of heaven on earth. Surfers and kite-surfers were out in the blustery conditions.

It's a dog friendly beach and some people don't keep them on leashes. So, if you don't like dogs, it's a no but I love them so I don't mind. Low tides sometimes which is great for the kiddies, very spacious and seldom full. The ice cream is out of this world, really enjoy it. Always have a great time going here. Love it.

Lifeguards available at only a small portion. Tuck shop with ice cream and snacks. Nearby restaurant for other food.

Clean and well used Beach. Great time with the Family can be spent here. Best to pick your days, the Wind can have the tendency to throw the dry sand around, can be the only negative aspect. But overall it is great and there are tidal pools and collectables all over for hours of fun for Children. Town is nearby to grab a bite and resturants scattered along the beach line as well as hotels for stay over. Well developed area and well kempt.

A beautiful and clean beach. I could let the kids swim without being worried about parts of the ocean being too deep, because the area where we were is shallow. Melkbosstrand Beach is picturesque and ideallic. Lots of restaurants along the street.

Will rather drive out to Melkbos before frequenting our own Blouberg Beach and surrounding beaches. Just love the vibe there 😊

Beautiful views and some nice restaurants along the beach road. Pity about all the garbage and plastic. Please pick up after yourself.

Nice beach until we were accosted by ladies in uniform who, very politely, told us that we were breaking bylaws by allowing our dog to swim in the sea. NOWHERE does one find a sign saying no dog may swim between certain hours. I don't mind following rules, but I get freaked out when I'm pulled up in front of a crowd for something I wasn't aware of.
