This was for one of the hiking trails in the area down the river to some isolated pools. The hike itself is moderate, suggest packing light since there is quite a lot of rock jumping required and some limited access unless you want to cross through the water. There is at least one place you will need someone to help you cross if you have backpacks with you. Take hiking shoes (no flip flops - you have been warned) pack some lunch and drinks and head down river about 2km from the point where the jeep track meets the river, you will find an absolutely amazing swimming area including a cave and waterfall, definitely something to see. There have been some incidents with two or less people together, rather go in a larger group if possible and be aware. Cell reception is limited.

Bainskloof is magical!!! I recommend going in the week, much better chance of having a rock pool all to yourself..... Did someone say skinny dipping??? Pack a picnic, hike, cool of in crystal clear waters with your special person, friends or family. I've been going there for years. Still one of my favorite places on earth that I don't visit often enough.

Bobbejaans river hiking trail - Excellent hike, with many inclines, in between the bainskloof mountain ranges.....all to be rewarded with a beautiful little waterfall and pool deep enough to swim.

Newly rebuilt famous Bains mountain pass. Every road cyclist’s dream. Every sports car enthusiasts perfect lay out. Smooth tarmac with the iconic hairpin bends, landscaping that makes and feels like you are in a Hollywood movie featuring Steve McQueen. Get out there and experience the Bolands treasured mountain pass

Beautiful sunrise and sunset. The place is great for a quiet getaway. We spent the morning having breakfast at the river.

Booking is tricky and access difficult, but the amazing sights and surroundings make up for it.

Lovely peaceful holiday destination. Swimming in rivers, hiking to waterfalls and wine and whiskey tastings. Very fun.

What an amazing experience, tour guide was so friendly his wife offered to help with the children so that everyone could enjoy the hike, they also packed snacks for the children which we did not expect. We could literally just relax and take in nature. we all enjoyed it so much we booked it again for this weekend. well done you guys, you went out of your way for us.
