The owner and staff at STRAND JEWELLERS are exceptional people to deal with. They are made my wedding ring, fixed broken items, replaced stones in my rings I lost and resized many or my rings. They are always helpful and extremely kind people. A treasure of a store.

Great experience resizing a ring to a smaller size

I only give them a one star as it is impossible to rate lower. I took an engagement ring to them for resizing. They messed the ring up royally. First they charged us more for the resizing as they could not tell the difference between white gold and silver. Second, they damaged engraving on the ring when doing the resizing. Thirdly, they resized the ring with white gold when the band was silver, meaning the band is now 2 different materials. Fourth, they damaged the pins keeping the stone in place. Fifth, the ring size was still not correct even after my fiance went to confirm the size. Stay far away from these incompitent jewellers!!

Had a terrible experience with them. My engagement ring had to be resized. Not only were the person too incompetent to see which material my ring was made of he also scratched off half of the fine engravings on the one side. Now my ring is 2 different colours and will need to be taken to a competent person to fix. Will NOT recommend to anyone.

Really disappointed in what I thought was going to be the best jeweller I could find. Upon entering for the first time there were two elderly women who were very quick and extremely helpful when I took my ring to get downsized. I was quoted that it would be somewhere around R390. Fetching my ring today, I was shocked. When I tried my ring on their was black smudge which I could only think was the jewellers leaving behind polish. I thought nothing of it as my ring fit perfectly and paid them R680 (R290 more than I was quoted) and left. When I arrived at home I cleaned the black smudge off properly only to find that where the smudge was the ring is now damaged on both sides of the diamond. The ring also has a line engraved that follows along the whole ring and where they downsized the ring they did not fix the line. I didn't expect them to but for paying much more than what I was originally quoted I would atleast expect them to. One more fault which is why I think the ring was damaged during polishing was that on the packet I received the ring back with was written 18ct ring where I specifically told them it was 9ct and its quite easy to see that there is a 9ct stamp on the inside of the ring. I'm more than upset with their craftsmanship and will not be returning in future.
