I’m so glad we stayed here. It’s perfectly central to all of the boating excursions, walking distance to several great places to eat, and a very short car ride or about a 25 minute walk from Boulder Beach to see the Penguins. It’s such a cute hotel with nice rooms with nice views, exactly what we needed!

Stayed here with my grandma for a weekend. The staff are all so pleasant and definitely add to your experience at the hotel. We got a standard room with 2 beds and the room was spacious with a lovely mountain and street view which was perfect for a bit of people watching in the morning. The location is more than ideal with it being less than 3 km from beaches, surrounded by shops, cafes and restaurants and there are lots of water and land activities nearby. I’m going back in a few weeks and will try and stay here every time I come to Cape Town.

Great location as you’re surrounded by shops, restaurants and spectacular views. It could do with some maintenance as our room had worn out furnishings.

We booked two luxury sea-facing rooms with balconies at the Quayside Hotel for our son's birthday this week. Being a 4-star rated establishment, our expectations were high, but we were disappointed on arrival in our rooms. Our room had a pile of cigarette butts in the corner of the balcony. My son's room had a clump of hair on the floor in the shower. We called the reception desk to report our concerns and it took more than 45 minutes for the problems to be attended to. The general level of maintenance and cleanliness was way below par. Bathroom tiles were grimy and grubby, the loose carpets in the bedroom were filthy and the furniture was shabby and worn. The black leatherette office chair at the desk in our room had material scuffed off the seat. The outside balcony table had been bent out of shape and was no longer level. The rooms smelled very strongly of chemical disinfectant, which became very noticeable once the balcony doors had been closed for the night. The situation of the hotel on the waterfront is stunning and it is a pity that hygiene and maintenance issues spoiled our stay at this hotel. Also, we commend the breakfast restaurant for providing excellent fare.

The rooms were clean and tidy, and the location is great, arguably one of the best in town. However the service leaves much to be desired. Normally I wouldn't bring up the slow check in, inability to print an invoice on check out etc. But it is three months after my visit and I cannot get ahold of the hotel on their two telephone lines or their email as I still don't have an invoice and need it for expense claims. The AHA Hotels central office is quick to respond but cant give any help other than the telephone numbers and email address which Aha Simonstown doesn't respond to. So all in all they are somewhat useless when it comes to anything other than a clean bed.

Nice hotel with great view. We arrived a bit evening and check in process was fast. We got the room with balcony and viewing to the harbour-sea, it was amazing when we saw it from the window at night and still fascinating at the morning as the restaurant where we had breakfast was also viewing to the harbour-sea.

What a little surprise for me! Super friendly staff ready to help with a smile. Rooms pretty comfortable and I had a view of the ocean and Marina. Breakfast well worth it and I can only recommend!

A beautiful view, lovely staff, comfy bed. We really enjoyed our stay in Aha. Easy to get to Boulders beach as well. Nice restaurants are surrounded. Also you can easily see Baboons everywhere. 😁

Loved our stay. Perfect location on the docks and walking distance to so many delicious restaurants. The views were incredible from the room and the room itself was spacious, modern and clean - a lot larger than many other hotels too.

The staff were nice and the view was stunning, however the bed was rock solid. The surroundings were quiet at night, although our experience did have the bathroom fan on constantly.

Was not in the hotel. We visited the statue and took pictures of the beautiful surroundings. Nice little flea markets on the road.

Great place to be.. in front of sea and harbour Quiet and welcoming, and comfortable Just one remark : why don’t you have a generator ? as other hotels and restaurants do : electricity if off several times everyday for hours, since it’s the fact in all the area …

Good hotel. Very thin walls. Emergency lights come on during power cut offs, but are so bright that it makes it hard to sleep in the room! Amazing breakfast.

Friendly welcome. Clean and beautiful view of the harbour. Central, walking distance. Good for an entry level hotel. Recommend the room with a balcony.

This was a stopover as we planned to do Shark Cage diving there but unfortunately it got cancelled due to weather conditions. When we arrive we received a great welcome from the start especially with the sherry! They helped us with our luggage and when we got to the room it was lovely and large which was greatly appreciated. As our shark cage diving was cancelled and we had a few early starts we decided to have a little lie in especially as we didn't have breakfast booked. At 9am when we were looking to take our shower there was no hot water available. Unfortunately the staff assumed everyone had a shower and turned off the water. They were not able to turn it back on so we ended up washing using the kettle and bottled water which wasn't great. They did offer to give us 50% of our money back which was nice of them. I definitely would stay here again just maybe let them know if you plan to have a lie in.

Small room which had a musky smell since the A/C was not working during load shedding. Staff are very friendly and helpful with great location in Simons Town. Breakfast was good at the restaurant.

The perfect location, after a long day of site seeing, you return to your room and gaze upon the tranquil Harbour. Food for the soul indeed. Helpfull and friendly staff. Fast and reliable room service.

Advertised as a 4 star hotel. This is definitely not a 4 star hotel. On arrival, there was a sweet wrapper on the floor in our room, my pillow case was dirty and stained with black stuff (probably makeup), the tables were dusty and the room had a terrible smell, especially the bathroom/shower. The room is extremely small as well. The staff were helpful and friendly however the hotel is clearly understaffed and cutting costs at all corners. In our stay we only saw 3 staff members. One cleaner and two front of house staff. We got called down to come to reception TWICE for simple things that could of easily just have been brought up to our room but due to literally only 3 staff members, they called us to come down. They have a hair dryer but no plug to fit the hair dryer, the hair dryer also looked greasy and dirty. The aircon remote didn't work resulting in us having to go down to reception for a THIRD time. Very disappointing however the view was stunning and the view made up for the stay. This hotel has so much potential. Sad to see the standards are so low.

I would prefer not to give a star rating for this hotel at all. I travel a lot and stay in mostly 4 or 5 star hotels but aha quayside hotel is not a 4star hotel, it’s the worst hotel I have experienced. I booked for 4nights and wish I had booked just one night or never booked at all. Starting from check in, the reception lady was unwelcoming I think cause she was under a lot of pressure. We arrived just before 3pm and a lot of guests were checking in. She was alone at the front desk, checking in guests, sanitising the place and answering the phone. I am pregnant and desperately needed the toilet, the hotel doesn’t have a front desk guests toilet, the receptionist had to quickly give me our room key so I can go pee in our actual room which was a bit of a walk away. The corridor carpet to our room was dirty with small pieces of paper on the floor. When we walked into our room we had two single beds given to us, when it was for me and my partner and I had emailed clear instructions prior to arrival. The rooms are so tinny, the single beds are the size of like prison beds. Everything is just small about this hotel, nothing luxurious or any selling points except that they are just by simonstown waterfront. I clearly asked for a dust free room. Our room was not dust free, there was dust on the desk and chairs and the wardrobe. I informed the receptionist I wasn’t happy and she offered us a change to a standard mountain room. She gave me a key to go view the room (by the way you help yourself to get around the hotel, no one took us to this room). When we walked into this standard mountain room it had just been vacated and still dirty. I asked why she would show us a dirty room and she apologised as she thought it was clean. Anyway we decided to keep our original room with the single beds and asked for them to join the beds, she said all the housekeeping is not available to do that but they can do that tomorrow (the next day). I was not happy with that, then she said she can come up later around 7pm when her other colleague starts work to help us pull the beds together. So we had to wait till night time for our beds to be changed. I think the hotel is short staffed or they clearly do not know how to make guests comfortable and happy. Our anniversary was spoiled as this was the reason for our visit. They was no hotel manager or general manager on duty to speak to me as I was really upset and needed this resolved. Honestly, I wasted my time and money booking aha quayside hotel. Please DO NOT waste your money on this property.

Small room overlooking the street which made it noisy. The worst thing was that there was no WiFi for FOUR DAYS! Really??? It cost us a LOT of money using the data on our cards (that we bought to use while we were traveling) because they couldn’t provide Internet during our ENTIRE stay. Totally unacceptable. Breakfast was awesome and restaurant staff were incredible. We would have moved to another place if the food hadn’t been so good.

Great hotel with incredibly friendly staff that went out of their way for myself and some friends that were looking for a couple of rooms at the last minute. Lovely views from the rooms of either False Bay or the mountain side behind.

👍 Overall it was a great experience and I would recommend The Salty Sea dog. We also ordered a fish cake for R45 which was so massiv...
