Very easy and well maintained paths for a lovely gentle meander. Doggy friendly which is a bonus. Beautiful treed forest area - we stayed on the designated paths. It's a nice flat walk with beautiful views of The Elephants Eye and the Table Mountain range Beautiful proteas ready to bloom soon and lots of little birds. We walked to the Secret Forest Cafe for our coffee stop. No entrance fees. Always use sun screen in our weather conditions, take water and hat.

Tokai Forest is a great place walk. However, choose early mornings or late afternoons when there are many walkers, cyclists and horse riders. Never walk alone in the forest. A highlight of the forest walk is to linger at the outdoor pop-up coffee shop in a wall. It is situated at the lower end of the forest on the fybos side. The Secret Forest Cafe serves excellent coffee and thé most delectable freshly baked eats.

A very nice park. This is the place that the rock art hunting happens. Nice for the kids to find painted rocks hidden in the park. The only thing that’s a put off is that people walking their dogs needs to clean up the dogs mess and not leave it just there. So if you do decide to go just watch out for this

Run, walk, bicycle riding, needing a break from the rush of the city, getting your head clear, walking your dog or want to take your loved one for a picnic the Tokai Forest is the perfect place to go.

We are spoilt for choice when it comes to going for short walks. Don't forget to grab a coffee at the Secret Forest Café.

Tokai Lower Plantation has changed and adapted much over the years, but remains a place of beauty and quiet where one can run, walk or wander either under the pine canopy or though the lower fynbos. The tranquil quiet will not be so obvious on a Sunday afternoon when many families enter the forest with children and dogs - still wonderful, just different to the midweek
