Beautiful surroundings, beautiful walks, nice for family time and some fun in the park...

Very well looked after public dam with neat walkways. Spend a couple hours of the day feeding the ducks, going for a walk or picnic. Very relaxing. Lots of bird life and lots of ducks.

It's a wonderful place. It always shows great scenery, whether it's dawn, day, or night. Sometimes I want to stay longer if I'm floating on a model yacht. It's a good place to organize your thoughts.

Free to visit with picnic benches placed around to sit and enjoy a light mail. Walk around the dam on your own or with you 4 legged companion. Feed some egyptian geese or take your model RC boat for a spin on the dam.

Very pretty place for a little picnic or walk around the dam, or for a photoshoot. There are no toilets, so not suited to a full day outing. The dam is surrounded by houses, which contributes to a feeling of safety.

We absolutely love it,we had my daughter's bridal shower there what an amazing dam with the duck in and out the dam. Everybody had so much fun.Love this,So go and check it out for yourself you won't be disappointed

Sonstraal dam is an awesome place to visit. A stroll around the dam brings joy to any family especially children. The place has lots of bird life. It is also very serene. I love the atmosphere and the scenery. I love Sonstraal dam.

We sat down and had coffee overlooking the dam. Usually, we take a walk right around the dam. But at the moment it is overcrowded with ducks. It's perfect for bringing your family to picnic and feed the birds. There's shade under trees and a few benches some with tables. It is also great for pictures and for walking dogs. Just clean up after them. Lol

Sonstraal Dam is the home of Northern City Radio Sailing and they meet every weekend to sail radio controlled model boats. It is a spectacular sight to see these true to life models in action. There are sailboats, tug boats, speed boats and even a little harbour with cranes and trucks carrying cargo. The kids just love it! They also promote the environmental protection of the dam, which is a welcome contribution.

When you sit next to this awesome dam, watch couples and couples going by, then it reminds how nature has this ability to immerse you in peace and tranquility. I will never tire of this place, as families come to enjoy their lunch which is mind-blowing.

°A nice (quite) place for a[n] outing alongside all the foliage and ducklings and many Egyptian geese, Moorhen, occasionally Blacksmith (lapwing) although the land it self isn't well-keep't but rather nostalgic for those who visited• ^-^/♡

Lovely place to relax for the afternoon. Benches to eat on bins to dispose of things, space for those who have kids, lovely sightings of ducks, and a crimson sunset for nature lovers. Not to forget the beautiful venue to do a photo shoot with a lovely background.

Peaceful, Tranquil, always very friendly folk (old and young) taking a safe walk around the dam. Ducks and Geese just make it so pleasurable too. Neatly maintained too.
