A lovely peaceful spot with some easy hiking trails. Ample shaded areas to rest and picnic. Some benches and a "no frills" rugged little park for the kids. Ponds with carp, geese and other birds and fish. No taps for fresh drinking water, no toilets and no caffe or eateries in the nature reserve. Come prepared with snacks & beverages. Ideal for a 1.5 - 2.5 hr short outing to appreciate the beauty of our natural surroundings

Beautiful place for a short picnic under the trees. 2 - 3 hours to relax and take a walk. The main problem is there are no toilets hence I said short picnic. It is a nice early morning stop to just take a 1 hour walk or run for fitness and to take a breath of fresh air.

At first I was skeptical about the safety at Majik Forest but it seems to be well maintained and the rangers are always on duty and walking the pathways. Weekends are a buzz of activity and even during the week there are always walkers and joggers and cyclists on the routes. The routes are beautiful and well kept. You can easily do a 5km walk if you follow the pathways up to the top and back through the forest section.

Autumn walks in Majik forest are awesome with kids. Absolutely love the season colour changes. Finding little Rock treasures as you walk is always a hit. #CapeTownRocks Perfect for exploring the rock pools with little kids (during spring and autumn only as the little streams are dry in summer...) We always take welly boots with us... but somehow our kids come home sopping wet... Great for a picnic. They have put up a sweet little play area in the middle, near the bridge, in the last 2 years, so that's been a great upgrade. No public toilets. So we keep our visits 1-2 hours long.

It truly is a Majik place to visit. Take to the forest for a trail run or gear up for mountain biking. Go for a walk in the park or catch some shade on a bench near the waters edge to take in the calm natural scenery. It's open to the public for free.

Very nice walk. And a great place for a picnic. And a nice place to bring kids and dogs.

Great views of the Durbanville Winelands plus a peak of Table Mountain. Dog friendly, with lots of space for kids to run around.

What a wonderfully hidden gem. Wide open spaces. Plenty spots to picnic to just take in the fresh air. Well equipped kids play area.

One of the nicer parks we have seen. Beautiful water source , plenty of benches and well marked path. The walking trails are quite shaded and saw Guinea fowl, weaver birds and geese. Only issue was dogs not on leashes. There was visible security which was a plus.

We love walking around the Majik Forest 🌲surrounded by trees. Sometimes we take food and have a picnic by the dam and play area for kids. It's free to get in and so rewarding to recharge in nature 🌼

In a busy city, there's this bit of nature so peaceful and quiet. A great breakaway from the hustle and bustle of traffic and concrete jungle we experience daily. I've xperienced a hike through the forest. Had a picnic. And recently done a late afternoon photoshoot. Whatever time of day, this place views are still amazing. It would be perfect if there were restroom facilities though.

Easy walk with a lovely bit of nature, not far from a shopping center but doesn't feel that way at all... even with the little bit of rainfall, it was great to be outdoors - bridges, little bench hideaway spots, little stone and plaque memorials, ducka swimming in the little lake and a few streams too. Will definitely go back

Most people walk their dogs here, great for picnics or just relaxing under the trees or near the stream or lake. The gates are locked around 6pm during winter.

It's lovely. Nice 1.8km loop you can walk or run, with other little paths you could explore. Pet friendly if you dog on a leash.

Was great place to spend time with our dog. Only downside. No taps for water and no public toilets. Even pay toilets would be great. Could not spend whole day there due to these 2 negative points. Love reading memorials. This one broke my heart. Knowing that little doggie died due to not enough water. Ref to photo

😐 Through the years this has been our "rescue spot" if the kids were bored and needed to get a quick break away from their homework. Taking a stroll through Stodels nearly had the same soothing effect as being out of town somewhere on a farm. "Fresh" air , animals & lots of plants ... you didn't have...
